Episode 6 of X-Men ’97 introduced the Shi’ar Empire once again, who appeared in the original Animated Series, way back in the 90s. The Empire’s greatest asset, the Shi’ar Imperial Guard, made an appearance in the episode once again, fighting Ronan the Accuser and soldiers of the Kree Empire. In addition to focusing on non-mutant characters, the episode brought in one of the X-Men’s most powerful adversaries, Gladiator.

American animated series Young Justice is considered one of the best superhero series ever made. Contrary to its title which suggests that it is an adaptation of Peter David, Todd Dezago, and Todd Nauck’s comic series, the TV series is an original story, set in the DC Universe. It primarily explores the adventures of teenage and young adult superheroes.
A still from Young Justice Season 3
Created by Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman, the series features numerous young heroes such as Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Superboy, Miss Martian, and Artemis. There are many other animated series based on DC characters, but what sets this one apart is the fact that the creators also intend to give an insight into the mental health of these saviors.

Marvel’s X-Men ’97 animated superhero series is the talk of the town these days. Another animated series named Young Justice once attracted a fair amount of attention. Developed by Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman, the show’s first two seasons were aired on Cartoon Network. While the third season was aired on DC Universe, the fourth was released on HBO Max.
DC’s Young Justice
Being an animated show did not deter Vietti and Weisman from exploring realistic topics. One of the DC heroes in the series even became a symbol of mental health and the showrunners once revealed how it turned out that way.

James Gunn is currently shooting his Superman film which will kick off the new Dcu. The Dcu head has envisioned an elaborate plan for his new universe that fans hope will re-ignite the franchise and bring back its glory days. David Corenswet is set to play the Man of Steel and fans can’t wait for what the director has in store.
Concept art for Superman that James Gunn unveiled last year
Before the shoot began, the whole cast had a table read together and Gunn posted a photo with them on his social media. It seems the grandsons of Superman’s co-creator Jerry Siegel were also present at the time and they gifted Gunn with a reprint of the first comic issue that Superman appeared in.

"Young Justice" currently sits in limbo after its fourth season wrapped on Max. There's more story to tell, but Warner Bros. hasn't given creator Greg Weisman the greenlight to tell it. But hey, "Young Justice" has come back from worse! Cartoon Network outright canceled the show after season 2 finished airing in 2013.
"Young Justice" has the same premise as "Teen Titans" (soon to be a movie from DC Studios). The sidekicks of DC Comics form their own team. Then, each season skips ahead in time and the show's true design is unveiled. "Young Justice" isn't just a show about the sidekicks, it's Weisman's epic about the entire DC Universe, following heroes and villains as they age and fall, and new ones rise.

A live-action adaptation of DC Comics’ Teen Titans is officially in the works for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Ana Nogueira is already on board to write the script. Nogueira, recognizable for acting roles in CW’s The Vampire Diaries and Starz’s Hightown, is also working on DC’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, set to star Milly Alcock.
The announcement makes Teen Titans the first film added to the initial run of DC Universe productions Gunn revealed back in January 2023. It remains to be seen how or when it will slot into what’s being called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, but Gunn, Nogueria, and the DC team have plenty of options.
Made up of superhero “sidekicks,” the Teen Titans were originally introduced in 1964 in The Brave and the Bold #54. Founding members included Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, and Aqualad.

Arguably, the most famous fictional planet is Krypton -- the home of Kal-El, aka Clark Kent, aka Superman. We all know the story (though studios seem to think we don't) of how Krypton was destroyed, and how the sole (kind of) survivor was baby Kal-El. But while Krypton gets all the attention, it's not the only desolated former metropolis in the DC Universe.
Another essential part of the DC mythos is Mars, our red neighbor. In most of the DC continuity, Mars is mostly devoid of life, with all civilizations having been wiped out through war or a plague, leaving only J'onn J'onzz, aka the Martian Manhunter, alive and stranded on Earth. That is not the case with the acclaimed "Young Justice" animated series, which portrays Mars as having a big, advanced, and very active Martian civilization.

DC and Marvel have given the world some of the greatest characters in pop culture: Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, and D-Man. So if the two companies were to put their heads together and come up with a character that they could share, that character would be the greatest comic creation of all time, right?
Well, if that’s what you think, then let me introduce you to Axel Asher, aka Access. And let me tell you right from the beginning, that he is not the greatest comic creation of all time.

Before going too far into the history of the greatest comic find of his generation, we have to put the distinction between the big two into their proper context. The Dark Knight is one of those films that does not just stand out in the genre that it exists in but also stands out among films in general. So it is no wonder that the film has inspired countless actors to take a shot in the industry. Timothée Chalamet is one such actor, whose love for acting came from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.

All good things come to an end, and so has the third season of the CW’s Superman & Lois. After taking the viewers through an adeptly written, emotional roller-coaster of a season that primarily dealt with cancer awareness and the prospect of human mortality, the finale of the third season ended in a massive cliffhanger that saw Superman and Bizarro Doomsday going at each other’s throats on the surface of the moon. Lex Luthor made his presence felt in the last two episodes of the season, and in the fourth one, which has already been confirmed, Man of Steel’s arch-enemy will have more of a substantial role to play. With the possibility of one of the most important comics being adapted in the aftermath of the third season, let’s take a look at all the hinted plot points that can be explored next year in Superman & Lois.

This post contains spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man #26.
In 1940, Mlj Publishers had a problem. Their standout artist Jack Cole (best known as the creator of Plastic Man) had left the company, abandoning the hit series Pep Comics and its star the Comet. Without Cole’s pencils, the Comet didn’t pop in the same way, and the company needed something drastic to save its sales. So in Pep Comics #17, a thug guns the Comet down, inspiring his brother to become a new hero called the Hangman.
The first superhero death in comic books set the trend for all that followed. Pep killed off the Comet not for any story reason, but because they wanted to goose sales. And not only does his death launch another hero, but he doesn’t stay dead for good — Mlj (now Archie Comics) brought back the Comet in the 1960s and the 1980s, eventually licensing him to DC Comics.

HBO Max’s Titans came to an end as the eponymous team duked it out with an empowered Brother Blood, and while the main plotline of the series finale was anything but satisfactory, the epilogue turned out to be a saving grace. In the previous episode, we saw Tim getting his chance to shine as he earned the Robin mantle, and Conner made amends with the Titans and agreed to help them in their quest to stop Sebastian. After killing Mother Mayhem, Sebastian subsumed her powers and amplified his strength even more. The Titans decided to use one of Lex’s weapons that mimicked Starfire’s Tamaranean blue light on Sebastian to defeat him, but Dick’s unwillingness to completely change the core of the weapon by straining Kory led to inefficient output. Conner used the weapon on Sebastian, which instead helped him transform into his empowered Brother Blood self.

As it nears its series finale, HBO Max’s Titans ties up loose ends pretty quickly, and the rushed pace hurts the plot progression a bit and can leave viewers confused. However, after much tiptoeing around the conflicting motivations of the villainous duo of Brother Blood and Mother Mayhem, we finally get a set course to their endgame in this episode as Sebastian prepares to meet his destiny. In the previous episode, Sebastian had a falling out with May and ended up destroying her. Conner, aka Superboy, who had allied with Sebastian, tried to mentally break him by presenting him with a chance of fulfilling his dream of developing a game that could allow him absolute control over the users, only to later help the Titans sabotage it. On the other hand, Kory made peace with her vengeful self as she had a good time with Gar and members of the Doom Patrol,...

After a prolonged midseason break of four months, “Titans” made a banger of a comeback with two back-to-back episodes, “Caul’s Folly” and “Dick, Carol, Ted, and Cory,” as the team grapples with being entrapped in a new realm and with a familiar multiversal threat. In the previous episode, in the midseason finale, we saw that, in order to save the Titans, Sebastian agreed to undergo the process of transforming into Brother Blood. A brainwashed Sebastian attacks the team, which would have resulted in the deaths of the team members if Garfield Logan, aka Beast Boy, hadn’t tapped into his connection with the mystical realm of ‘Red’ and transported them. Jinx died during a struggle with Mother Mayhem, and there was a hint of her return too.
Previously in that episode, Garfield was visited by Dominic Mndawe, aka Freedom Beast, who hinted about other characters with animalistic elemental powers like Animal Man and Vixen,...

"Invincible," the animated series based on the hit comic book series by "The Walking Dead" co-creator Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, was a major success for Prime Video. But what to read between seasons if you can't get enough of bombastic teenaged superheroics? Well, there are at least 14 different comic books that should scratch that itch, including both series that influenced "Invincible" as well as stories that have something to say about the world of superheroes — and the one we live in.
Of course, it goes without saying that one of the titles that should be on your reading list is "Invincible" itself. The series wrapped up in 2018, so it's a complete saga — just be aware that you'll be spoiling the rest of the animated series for yourself! That's hardly a problem, though; this is a story that's worth experiencing twice.

Titans Season 4 gets underway on HBO Max later this year.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Titus Welliver has joined the cast as Lex Luthor.
Showrunner Greg Walker told the outlet that this iteration of Lex "has a very sensitive, thoughtful approach to evil and power."
Naturally, this sudden arrival will have a big effect on Connor.
As viewers are well aware, Connor was created from Superman and Lex's DNA.

“What does that mean when you do?”
Connor has been struggling to come to grips with a life away from a lab, regularly being put in the firing line.

Young Justice Season 4 Episode 26
Young Justice: Phantoms closed out its season in strong fashion. “Death and Rebirth” capped a string of excellent episodes with some of the best action this show has ever seen, and the back half of the season very nearly made up for how shaky the first half was.
As with all superhero media, though, the end of one story opened up multiple possibilities for the future. What Phantoms wrapped up, a theoretical Young Justice season 5 might build around. As I see it, there are three possibilities, which we’ll tackle from least to most likely.
The Legion Of Super-heroes
I’m not sure if this was seeding plots for the future as much as it was closing off the Legion of Super-Heroes’ story in the 21st century. As you’ll recall, Phantom Girl, Saturn Girl, and Chameleon Lad have...

It’s a universal origin story that doesn’t have The Hand (the hand of the Anti-Monitor observing the Universe and thus creating it), but otherwise this is pretty well established canon from the comics. This history is interspersed with Zatanna and her new squad – Khalid Nassour, Traci 13, and Mary Bromfeld (a semi-depowered Mary...

It’s not easy being the son of a legendary superhero, but Jon Kent is stepping into his own spotlight. Although you might not be as familiar with Superman’s son (not to be confused with Superboy), Kent was originally created by Dan Jurgens for the “Convergence: Superman” series. Earlier this month, DC Comics announced that Kent will come out as bisexual in “Superman: Son of Kal-El #5.” In the comic, slated for release on November 9, the young Kryptonian finds his identity and falls for a reporter.

The bad news: The Titans have quite a fight ahead of them, in this Thursday’s Season 3 finale. The good news: As least some sort of future awaits them, since the HBO Max superhero team-up series was just renewed for Season 4.
Though several months had passed between filming the Season 3 finale and him being told about the renewal, series lead Brenton Thwaites says he “had a pretty good feeling” the Titans would fight another day.

Titans Season 3 has put the characters through the wringer in recent weeks.
As everyone arrived in Gotham City, big deaths have set the stage for a thrilling second half of the season.
TV Fanatic got the chance to chat with Joshua Orpin, who plays Conner, aka Superboy.
Scroll down to find out what the star teases about the coming episodes.
TV Fanatic: What attracted you to Titans?
Joshua Orpin: What attracted me to Titans. I have been a big fan of superheroes since I was very young. It's that classic thing.
I've been dressing up and watching cartoons and a little later on in life reading comic books. And when the audition came along, I was incredibly excited, and I feel like it was just my historical childhood fixation on the concept of superheroes that really drives that excitement and anticipation for me.

Did anyone else roll their eyes the moment Titans Season 3 Episode 6 took to the past?
What seemed like an origin story for another new character was actually a nuanced, deep dive into Barbara Gordon and her relationship with Dick Grayson.
We already knew they shared a past, but witnessing the finer details of their relationship was the perfect way to highlight why the pair stare at each other like they want to rip each other's clothes off.
There's burning chemistry between them, but when in Gotham City, things are never easy.
Out of all the newer characters on the show, Barbara deserved an origin story. She's a badass character with many layers, and peeling back the onion on some things we didn't know helped elevate the character to new heights.
Lady Vic trying to kill her was just par for the course. Barbara was instrumental in the death of Lady...

The residents of Gotham City should be afraid.
Titans Season 3 Episode 5 was the deep-dive we needed into the character of Jason Todd, and it was an hour bursting at the seams with exposition that flawlessly helped us understand Jason's machinations.
Jason was driven by fear and learning that Bruce planned to remove him as the Joker was the final straw. For the most part, he was following Bruce's orders, but Bruce clearly saw him as a liability.
Throughout the first three seasons of Titans, Jason has struggled to keep up the pace due to some near-death experiences that have forever changed him as a person.
It makes sense that he thought losing fear would work wonders for him because let's face it, his ego took a huge beating when he was overpowered in front of Molly.
To an extent, Jason has felt invincible because of the power that comes with being associated with Bruce Wayne,...

Titans Season 2 culminated with the team defeating Deathstroke [Esai Morales], Conner/Superboy [Joshua Orpin] breaking Cadmus’ hold over him, Jason Todd/Robin [Curran Walters] leaving the fold, and Donna/Wonder Girl [Conor Leslie] dead. But, by the end of the finale, the Titans seemed more committed than ever to standing strong and continuing their war against evil.
However, when Titans returned for its third season, a tortured Hank/Hawk [Alan Ritchson] had moved on. Donna’s death hit him hard. As a result, he retired the spandex and gave up on the do-gooder game.
“Hank has always been a bit of a hothead,” Ritchson tells Den of Geek. “He is a quintessential vigilante. He wants to take justice into his hands. People like that are susceptible to the fickle winds of life. As trauma enters into the world of somebody like that,...

This article contains Superman & Lois spoilers.
Superman & Lois episode 2 gave us a lot more information on our potential bad guy, and it’s quite a doozy. Superman’s Iron Man-esque foe isn’t Lex Luthor, he’s a Luthor from a parallel Earth, by implication stranded on this one by the events of the Crisis on Infinite Earths. And while Superman & Lois draws a lot from the comics, is this Captain Luthor like another big multiversal Luthor we know from DC Comics as well? Or is he someone entirely different?
The evidence right now points to someone new. Or at least an amalgamation of a few Luthors. And a Lane.
Is Captain Luthor really Alexander Luthor?
There is no shortage of Lex Luthor variants in the comics. There’s the main Dcu Lex, Superman’s top antagonist who periodically turns good, but always reverts to mean. And there are...

A little while ago I reviewed Generations: Shattered, which was also by Dan Jurgens, Andy Schmidt, and Robert Venditti. It was a fun ride, with a very odd bunch of heroes assembled from throughout time by Kamandi to try and help stop the collapse of the Multiverse. It was derivative, it did have echoes of DC Universe greatest hits, but it was a lot of fun and threw in a lot of characters it was nice to see again. As I said then, I’m a sucker for stuff like this, so this new book following on – Generations Forged – is probably going to be more of the same but that’s fine by me. Has Dominus won? can the heroes, dispersed through time, get back to save reality? It’s a bumper 80 pages, and a cool $10 price tag,...

As part of DC’s second day of wildly successful pandemic comic con replacement, Fandome, the cast of Young Justice got together for a live read of a radio episode and an exclusive reveal.
Young Justice: Phantoms is the title of Young Justice season 4. Producers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti confirmed the title at the end of a radio episode set between seasons three and four of the hit show. It’s easy to give credit to Joblo for dusting off one of the old TV shows that was fairly popular back in the late 80s to early 90s, but one has to wonder if anyone is really going to support the reboot of a Superboy TV show at this point, and whether or not it would be a good fit on the CW, where it would be most likely to land. Considering the talk concerning Superman and how he’s going to be represented in the coming days it’s hard to say with any confidence that Superboy would really be seen

The Snyder Cut is coming. After many years, even more petitions, a hashtag that wouldn’t quit, and the support of the entire cast of the film, Zack Snyder’s original vision for Justice League will be hitting HBO Max in 2021, with the fitting title: Zack Snyder’s Justice League. It’s a vindication of sorts for the director, who had to bow out of the project during filming because of a family tragedy. Warner Bros. brought in Joss Whedon to replace him, and the finished product seemed to leave nobody happy. The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement was born, and eventually…HBO listened.
“It will be an entirely new thing, and, especially talking to those who have seen the released movie, a new experience apart from that movie. You probably saw one-fourth of what I did,” Snyder told The Hollywood Reporter. The piece that broke the news also reported that the film...

The Blackstars battle the lone holdout in their plan for universal domination: the Justice League. Check out Green Lantern: Blackstars #3.
For a few months now, one of the big questions I've had in comics is "How the hell did Green Lantern #12 happen?" That series closed with Hal Jordan, so deep in his Blackstar cover that everyone believes he flipped and joined the fascist space army, using a Miracle Machine (the machine from the end of Final Crisis that turns wishes into reality) to reset reality. And the one that came out the other side of the Miracle Machine was a dark universe where the Blackstars were on the march, on the verge of consolidating their power once they finish off Earth.
This has been the crux of the plot of Green Lantern: Blackstars, and in this third and final issue (of which we've got an...

The Titans faced not one but multiple (and sometimes even superfriendly!) threats in the DC Universe series’ Season 2 finale. When all was said and done, who had death struck?

Some gunshots had been exchanged, and Kory took a hit, when Dick in his new Nightwing persona landed atop the ladies’ car,...

The adventures of Dick Grayson and his ever expanding band of Titans will continue on DC Universe.
The streamer has confirmed that Season 3 of Titans is a go, and it will bow on the service in fall 2020.
Titans Season 2 has found the heroes Dick Grayson, Rachel Roth/Raven, Kory Anders/Starfire, Gar Logan/Beast Boy, Hank Hall/Hawk, Dawn Granger/Dove, Donna Troy/Wonder Girl, and Jason Todd/Robin going up against an old foe in Deathstroke, the man responsible for the team disbanding four years earlier.
He continues to be a force to be reckoned with as secrets from the past have threatened to end to destroy the unit Dick helped create.
It's been a resounding success, once again, with excellent fight scenes, new heroes, and a witty script.
The big concern for the series is that the heroes never stay together for long, rendering the term "Titans" to...

The good news is that the series looks to be set to survive for another year, as We Got This Covered has heard some new details on who the main villain of season 3 will be.
Our sources – the same ones who told us Dick would make the switch to Nightwing this year, and that a Green Lantern show is in development, both of which turned out to be true – have informed us that Blackfire, Starfire’s evil sister, will serve as the big bad of the next run of Titans. Of course, Blackfire Aka Komand’r recently made her debut on the show in season 2’s ninth episode, “Atonement,” as played by Damaris Lewis. Only briefly appearing in person via hologram, the episode...
