Composer and singer Amit Trivedi shared that the music album of 2015 film ‘Bombay Velvet’, which turned out to be a disaster at the box-office, is his personal favourite and that it broke his heart when he did not get any result.
Talking about the music of ‘Bombay Velvet’ being underrated, Trivedi told : “It’s my personal favourite when I was making it, and once it was done I was sitting at home and one fine day as I was scrolling through the album listening to it much before it was released, I remember talking to myself ‘bro you have killed it’. It’s amazing. It sounds great but … whatever film had its fate because it is part of a film right.”
He said that with the film’s fate, the efforts made for the music washed away too.
“There are a lot of energies… and film’s come with their own fate.

Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley
Starring Wamiqa Gabbi, Priyanshu Painyuli, Naseeruddin Shah, Lara Dutta, Neena Gupta, Ratna Pathak Shah,Gulshan Grover, Paoli Dam, Vivaan Shah, Imaad Shah
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj
Being an ardent fan of Agatha Christie’s timeless whodunits I was so looking forward to what Vishal Bhardwaj has done to one of Christie’s lesser known murder mysteries The Sittaford Mystery.
But, hell, what is this?!
The thing about Agatha Christie is, even if you’ve read the novel and know who the killer is, you can still return to the story and be just as enthralled by the characterization and plot development as the first time.
In Charlie Chopra, it ceases to matter after a few episodes who the killer is. After a point, you just don’t care about this family of dysfunctional gold diggers. Each of them could have killed Brigadier Meherban...

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah is one of the most forward-thinking artistes of Indian cinema. So, when he talks about something, the world sits down to take notice. The senior actor, who has donned the hat of a director for the second time with his recently released short film ‘Man Woman, Man Woman’, feels that the mainstream cinema of India hasn’t fully stuck to its responsibilities as a medium of art.
Naseer said, “Our mainstream cinema has ruined the taste of the audience forever. Filmmaker Satyajit Ray mentioned about this thing in his book titled ‘Our films, their films’ which he wrote 50 years ago. He wasn’t running down Indian films, but he was merely comparing the Indian filmmakers with international filmmakers.”
The actor shared that Ray wished for our audience to be more “discerning”, and stressed upon the importance of the audience that questions a filmmaker.

Actor Vivaan Shah says playing a scrap dealer in the film "Kabaad: The Coin" helped him know the hardships that scrap dealers as a community face in life, even as they keep the city clean.
"We see kabaadiwalas (scrap dealers) and those who collect garbage from our homes and offices every day, but we do not take a moment to pause and think about their lives. It is their relentless efforts that keep our city clean, but they live in extreme poverty and hardship," said Vivaan.
"Playing a kabaadiwala actually made me more compassionate towards them. There are people who earn less money but still have respect in society. We do not give any respect or financial support to these garbage and scrap collectors. Imagine, if they stopped collecting garbage and waste, we would almost live in a garbage yard! But do we even say 'thank you' when they collect the trash from our homes?...

Mumbai, Oct 22 (Ians) Vijay Varma plays Rasheed the Urdu teacher in the Mira Nair-directed web series, A Suitable Boy, and he says he had to work hard to get the diction and articulation right.
"Rasheed is an Urdu teacher, so I had to focus on pronunciation and articulation of words and sentences. I spent a lot of time on research, listening to Urdu audio clips and also trained with an Urdu dialect coach to sink into the character. Urdu is a beautiful and pure language and, if not spoken correctly, it won't have impact. Rasheed's character is complex and layered, and he has his journey and struggles to deal with, which are revealed through the course of the story," said Vijay.

The '7 Khoon Maaf' fame actor Vivaan Shah, who is playing the lead role in the new web series "Only For Singles", says that many of his single friends faced obstacles in finding accommodation, as we are majorly living in a conservative society where many landlords have prejudices to rent out apartments to bachelors.

Vivaan told a publication here, "I did not face any problem as such directly but I have seen how my friends, who are single, found it difficult to get accommodations, especially in Delhi. I studied in Delhi. In few places of Delhi, landlords have prejudices to rent out their places to Muslims."

Very recently, the music of Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana was launched. Spearheaded by the leading men of the film, Vivaan Shah and Gurmeet Choudhary, the event was also graced by singers Ankit Tiwari, Sukhwinder Singh and Palak Mucchal. However the focal point of the film, Akshara Haasan (who plays Laali), was missing from the event.
“That was because her uncle Chandrahasan (elder brother of Kamal Haasan) passed away in London. The 82-year-old producer-lawyer was at the residence of his daughter Anu Hasan, when he suffered a cardiac arrest. It was a tragic moment for Akshara due to which she could not make it for the event,” informs our source.
However, as the adage goes, the show must go on, and hence the makers decided to proceed with the event and none of the fun-n-frolic stopped either in the spirit of the film’s celebratory narrative. As for Akshara...

Bombay Velvet
Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Satyadeep Mishra, Manish Choudhary, K K Menon
Directed by Anurag Kashyap
Smoke-filled hazy but hectic frames jostle for supremacy in Anurag Kashyap’s most stylish film to date.
So far all his gangland gaathas were fiercely homespun. Unkempt unwashed immoral sods firing their desi guns in the sugarcane fields of the Indian hinterland. In Bombay Velvet Kashyap jazzes up his gangland theme, spruces up his act, sharpens his claws and emerges with a story of q hustler’s rise to notoriety in the Mumbai …sorry, Bombay, of the 1960s.
The power of the gun is palpable. The ambience of smokey nightclubs and messy shootouts on darkly-lit sinister nights is impeccable. We can almost touch the terror.

Happy New Year that released last week seems to have got entangled in a legal controversy and the popular track in the film titled 'Sharabi' is the reason behind it. The filmmakers have now been accused of not giving the required credits to singer Surj. It happened so that the song 'Sharabi' was sung by Manj, brother of Surj and another member of Rdb gang. Rdb, a popular Punjabi rap band was dissolved after the death of Kuly (Kuljeet Ral), post which brothers Manj and Surj decided to part ways. While currently the band is headed by Surj solely, the song in Happy New Year was sung by his brother Manj. The music for the film was composed by Vishal - Shekhar. However, what left Surj miffed was the fact that he wasn't given credit for this track which was ideally composed when he and Manj were a part of Rdb.

It’s not for nothing that Farah Khan is often compared to Manmohan Desai. Who else in the present generation of film makers can come up with a masala fare with a near perfect blend of ingredients like revenge for wronged father, victory of underdogs, impossible diamond heist, and a good dose of patriotism to boot!
Charlie (Shahrukh Khan) puts together a team of ‘losers’ to carry out a diamond heist. A dynamite expert, a safe cracker, a computer hacker and a tapori gear up to win the world’s biggest dance championship to attain this goal. Training this bunch of men with two left feet is bar dancer Mohini (Deepika Padukone). How this team of bad dancers goes on to win the championship as well as steal the diamonds in true blue Hindi film ishtyle is what Farah Khan’s latest offering is all about.

Choreographer turned filmmaker Farah Khan has now dipped her hands into penning down lyrics. While it's her cousin Farhan Akhtar and her uncle Javed Akhtar who mastered it, Farah too seems to be giving it a shot. Going a step further for her dream project Happy New Year, Farah Khan wrote the lyrics of the song 'Nonsense Ki Night'. During the making of the song, it seems that lyricist Irshad Kamil was out of town and the lyrics that Vishal-Shekhar and Farah Khan had in hand weren't in sync with the film's scenario. Moreover, they were falling short of time since they had to complete the song in a day. Hence, they decided to pen down the lyrics all by themselves. Farah, being the director of the film, wanted a catchy song with humour and hence decided to translate popular Hindi idioms in English. While she put her assistant director...

Earlier Indian films were often criticized for being a stretched affair. But with time, filmmakers started adapting the Hollywood formula of keeping the films short and crisp. However, choreographer cum director Farah Khan prefers to keep a traditional approach.
Her upcoming film Happy New Year is said to be stretching over a time span of 188 minutes, which makes it a 3 hour 8 minutes long affair. This film which has grand sets, lavish and colourful costumes, larger than life characters is a commercial drama filled with glamorous elements of music, dance, stage shows etc. It has been extensively shot in Dubai and also is sprinkled with action and stunts.
Adding more value to the film, is the hit trio of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan coming together after 2007 film Om Shaanti Om, when Deepika made her debut in Bollywood. With an ensemble cast, including cameos by prominent Bollywood personalities like Anurag Kashyap,...

Though it's a well-known fact that Happy New Year is all set to release on October 24, the Farah Khan directorial was initially slated to release on a Thursday, which is October 23 coinciding with the Diwali celebration but the makers decided against it. The makers were of the opinion that releasing on October 23 could pose as a problem since people are not only busy celebrating Diwali but they will be performing the auspicious Laxmi pooja on the same day. Hence the decision was taken in order to ensure that the pooja which is often performed during the evening does not clash with the evening shows, which is the peak time for collections at the box office. This is not the first time that a film's release has been changed owing to the Diwali celebrations. Last year, a similar dilemma was faced by the makers of the superhero blockbuster Krrish 3. The...

After playing the iconic baap-beta jodi in the smash hit film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (Ddlj), the impeccable duo of Shah Rukh Khan and Anupam Kher is back again.
