Duane Pierre

Duane P. Pierre is a writer/director/producer from Brooklyn, NY living
in New Britain, CT. Duane attended Loyola University of New Orleans
before completing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Central
Connecticut State University in 1998. Duane began his career as a
freelance multimedia producer before become a spot producer and
director for Cox Communications in 2000. While there Duane produced and
directed TV shows for Cox Sports Television. In December, Duane formed
Channel Xiro Media, LLC an production company that focused on filming
live events and documentaries, primarily for non-profit organizations.
In January of 2013, Duane launched ParaDYM (paraprofessionals in
digital youth media), Inc, a non-profit organization that teaches
transmedia production and media literacy to marginalized an at-risk
youth, partially supported by grant funding secured by his alma mater,
CCSU. Duane often writes under the pseudonym, Xiro and has written for
several publications and has released a book of poetry entitle Now With
No Artificial Flavors or Preservatives. Since 1997 Duane has written,
directed, produced or consulted on a variety of film and media related
projects, including Alessandro Signore's Sensory Perception.
