The force will be with D.C. Barns, a lifelong Star Wars fan who won a walk-on role in Episode VII in the franchise's Force for Change charity contest. Barns was surprised with the news while recording a donor video for Omaze — the fundraising platform that helped run the contest — in which he talked about seeing the first Star Wars when he was just five: "It really split my head open," he recalled. "There's movies that I love, and then there's Star Wars."

"Ant-Man" director Peyton Reed confirms that one element of the comics making the transition in the upcoming Marvel film is Scott Lang's progeny: "In the comics, Scott Lang has a daughter, and that’s part of the movie too, in terms of the character dynamics that are going on. That really appealed to me."

It doesn't seem like that long ago when director J.J. Abrams kicked off Star Wars: Force For Change, which was an initiative to raise money for the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef), the top prize for which would be a trip to the set of Star Wars Episode VII.
Over the past few months Abrams has provided fans with a fun look at some behind the scenes awesomeness from the film. The first video showed us an alien creature from the universe, and a second video revealed the cool looking new X-Wing fighter.
Today, Abrams revealed the results of the initiative, which raised over $4.2 million dollars, as well the winner’s name. He then posted a photo on Twitter with a thank you note being held by a robotic hand. This could very well be a droid's hand from the film, or maybe... just maybe, it's Luke Skywalker's...

A couple months ago, the ultimate contest started with Force For Change, a fundraising effort for Unicef, through Omaze, that would give one lucky fan the chance to be in Star Wars: Episode VII. Throughout the contest we've seen exciting teases from the set and people have been donating like crazy. Today, the official results of the funds raised have come in and a winner has been announced. Come inside to check out the announcement and see the next tease from Jj Abrams!
Obviously this image is a tease of something (as Abrams has been doing), and with all the rumors floating around about hands and the plot of the film, this doesn't seem like a coincidence. At all. It's a deliberate tease, but there's no telling if it's a confirmation of anything pertaining to the rumors, or simply using a current prop to acknowledge the rumors and poke at the fans.

Ponda Boba, Ig-88, Willrow Hood, Lobot … Now you can add D.C. Barns to the list of Star Wars background figures.
The Denver resident is the winner of the “Force For Change” contest, which raffled a walk-on role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII to a fan who donated to the cause. Director J.J. Abrams tweeted the message above, thanking those who contributed, and apparently revealing yet another glimpse into what awaits moviegoers on Dec. 18, 2015. (BadassDigest reported some plot details last month that suggested a severed hand falling from space.)
