It’s rare that a month goes by on Disney+ without a major new Marvel or Star Wars release. With its list of new releases of November 2022 though, Disney+ is going to attempt to go without it’s two big tentpoles.
That’s not to say that neither Star Wars nor Marvel will play a role on Disney+ this month. Star Wars prequel series Andor will continue to chug along, culminating with its 12th episode and season 1 finale on Nov. 23. Meanwhile, a couple of minor Marvel documentaries make their premieres in the beginning of the month.
In place of new Star Wars or Marvel blockbusters, Disney+ is turning some of its lesser-known franchises this month. Disenchanted, the long-awaited sequel to 2007’s Enchanted, premieres on Nov. 18. That will be followed by the season premiere of Willow, a series based on the 1988 movie of the same name.

Rupert Murdoch is still a believer in the written word, he has told staff in a memo confirming plans to split News Corporation into separate companies covering publishing and entertainment. The company is also to close its iPad venture.
The publishing operation, which includes News Limited in Australia and the company’s 50% ownership of Foxtel, will retain the name News Corporation. The other company, which will include the film and TV assets will be called Fox Group.
In a memo to staff, Murdoch wrote:
“Many of you know that a belief in the power of the written word has been in my bones for my entire life. It began as I listened to my father’s stories from his days as a war correspondent and, later, a successful publisher. It deepened when, starting in grammar school, I rolled up my sleeves and worked alongside fellow students to publish school journals.

The latest results from the Audit Bureau of Circulations are gloomy reading for NewsLifeMedia’s title Masterchef. The print spin-off from the hit cooking show has dropped off by 36.67% compared with the same period last year. The TV show was on air for half of the sales period, which matched the schedule of the 2011 series. Despite this, the sales figures slumped.
Iconic Acp women’s titles Cleo and Cosmo also suffered a significant drop in sales, with Cleo down over 17% and Cosmo falling by just over 16%. Frankie’s star seems slightly on the wane with a growth in circulation of just over 4% a far cry for its market leading jumps of a year ago. Vogue Australia gained a little ground with an increase of 2%.
Dark horse Game Informer, from Citrus Media, enjoyed the biggest growth in magazines, creeping over the 50,000 mark with an startling 29% increase in circulation.
