- Born into an artistic family, David Sowden discovered his love of cinema early, viewing the works of Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis and discovering a passion for movies that has continued his whole life. Born and raised in Forth Worth, Texas, he graduated from high school in 2002 and formed his production company in 2005. He honed his craft, writing and directing such films as the relationship dramas White Powder (2006) and A Part (2008), the comedy films A Girls Night Out (2009) and Showing Up Drunk (2015), and the sexual drama Room 206 and the Evenings After (2012). He won numerous awards and praise for his family drama Shifting Faults (2014) which competed in festival circuits all over the United States.
As a producer, he has teamed with his production partner Nicholas Zebrun on numerous films, including the thrillers Midnight Ransom (2005), Midday Ransom (2005), and Requiem for a Shallow Heart (2016), the romantic fantasy Michelle on My Mind (2009), the noir adventure Noir City (2014), and the existential relationship drama Three Conversations About Two People in One Place (2015). He produced and edited Mr. Zebrun's first feature-length film Variations on a High School Romance (2010) and served as executive producer on the talk show The Show Show (2013).
