Actress Priyadarshini Indalkar, who is awaiting the release of her upcoming Marathi show ‘Shantit Kranti 2’, has said that she shares her passion of love for nature with her character of ‘Samruddhi’ in the show.
With Sarang Sathaye and Paula McGlynn at the helm, the show stars Abhay Mahajan, Alok Rajwade, Lalit Prabhakar, Mrinmayee Godbole, Priya Banerjee and Priyadarshini Indalkar.
Discussing some of Samruddhi’s characteristics, the actress recently said, “The best thing about my character is that she shares one of my biggest pet peeves: the sight of garbage scattered everywhere. Samruddhi, just like me, despises it, so she always carries a garbage bag in her purse. She’d whip it out and start cleaning up random places like forests, streets and more to keep the surroundings clean. Me and my character believe in sustainability and how it’s important to save the environment.”

Zee Theatre is celebrating the birth anniversary of eminent playwright Vijay Tendulkar with teleplays Khamosh Adalat Jaari Hai and Sakharam B. Tendulkar redefined Marathi theatre with his searing commentaries on socio-political issues and often rattled conventions and questioned oppressive norms. Both teleplays perfectly exemplify the incisive and powerful writing that Tendulkar's peerless oeuvre stands for. Khamosh Adalat Jaari Hai is an adaptation of his 1967 Marathi classic Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe and Sakharam B is based on the 1972 masterpiece Sakharam Binder.

A young poet seeks the still point in a turning world in Akshay Indikar’s Marathi-language film Trijya — Radius, an unusually sensitive and well-made coming-of-age drama that should connect particularly with questioning under-30s. The German-Indian coprod, which premiered in Shanghai’s Asian New Talent Award competition, brings a sophisticated point of view as well as a sad aching to the hero’s search for answers to the perennial questions about life’s purpose. One can feel how personal a film it is to the 27-year-old director.

As the web series "Hutatma", based on the Samyukta Maharashtra movement, is in Marathi, its director Jayprad Desai says he isn't worried about the language limiting the audience from accessing the historical story because it lends authenticity.
"I am not disheartened that the language is going to limit the propagation of such content. Rather I think that if the choice of the language makes the content more authentic and strong, I am sure it will transcend the barriers of language. I would rather concentrate on making authentic content than making it accessible to people by using a certain language," Desai told Ians here.

Filmmaker Jayprad Desai, making his digital debut with the web series 'Hutatma', which is based on the Samyukta Maharashtra movement, says he has attempted to tell a fiction derived from reality. The Samyukta Maharashtra movement, which started in 1956, led to carving out of the state of Maharashtra from the (then-bilingual) State of Bombay on 1 May 1960.? 'Hutatma', which releases on the Ott platform ZEE5 on May 1, is loosely based on Meena Deshpandey's book of the same name.?
Asked about his research for 'Hutatma' Desai said, "We have done extensive research and read most of the works, including real life accounts, that have been written about the movement."?
Remarking that fiction is an extension of reality, he said "Our attempt was to understand the reality of that time. Thus, we tried for a story that went beyond the clash of political ideologies."
