Top Israeli director Talya Lavie is developing “Seven Eyes,” a feature film based on the gripping story of the female lookout soldiers who were based at the Israel-Gaza border on Oct. 7, when Hamas killed more than 1,200 Israeli civilians.
Entirely staffed by women, that Idf “lookout” unit is stationed by the Nahal Oz Outpost in Southern Israel, near the village which was decimated by Hamas. In the months preceding the attack, these female soldiers consistently reported suspicious activities, indicating that Hamas terrorists were preparing for an attack, said Lavie, an alumna of the Sundance Directors and Screenwriters Lab.
Of the 24 lookout soldiers who were stationed in Nahal Oz on Oct. 7, 15 were killed during the attack, seven were abducted by Hamas into Gaza and two survived. Lavie said the film will follow fictional characters but will be based on true events.

Fauda, the breakout Israeli thriller drama, is unexpectedly returning for a fifth season, Deadline has confirmed with sources.
Yes, the Israeli network behind the show, reportedly unveiled plans for a new season of the show at an event earlier this week. Ilan Sigal, CEO of Yes, appeared on stage with co-creator Avi Issacharoff to confirm the news, according to several Israeli media outlets.
Fauda, which means ‘chaos’ in Arabic, became a huge international hit for Netflix after the streamer licensed the first four seasons of the show. It follows Doron, a commander in Israel’s Mista’arvim counter-intelligence unit, and regularly touches on the Israel-Palestine conflict.
It garnered significant viewing in countries such as Lebanon and cut through in Europe, Asia and the U.S. There have been several remakes, including in India where SonyLIV ordered Tanaav, a Hindi remake.
Season four launched last year and was expected to be the final run.

The desperate mission to save Amber (Jessica Ann Collins) continues on Echo 3 Season 1 Episode 6, airing Friday, December 16, on Apple TV+.
TV Fanatic scored an exclusive first look at the pivotal episode, which shows Prince (Michiel Huisman) and Bambi (Luke Evans) plotting their next move.
Unfortunately, they know the net is closing, and their window to save Amber is closing.
They turn their attention to the sibling of someone associated with the people holding Amber captive, forcing them to question how far they will go to save her.
Bambi looks shocked as he hears Prince's thoughts on going after an innocent person if it means they return home with her.
Echo 3 has featured high-octane action since its premiere last month, and thankfully, that doesn't seem to be slowing down in the near future.

Hot off the success of “No Man’s Land,” Israel’s Spiro Films and France’s Haut et Court TV are re-teaming on “Armageddon,” a sprawling thriller miniseries looking at Christian extremists operating in the Holy Land.
The show is being created by David Ackerman, who previously worked in national security in Israel and went on to pen the film “Blank Bullet” inspired by the story of Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination, and “Jerusalem,” a gritty geopolitical thriller drama which competed at last year’s Series Mania.
Ackerman is currently writing the script for “Armageddon,” which weaves several characters, including a Christian American priest who travels with a few disciples to the Kibbutz Megiddo. Appearing friendly and charitable, the group starts forging bonds within the small community, including a mother and a son, while pursuing their secret agenda: find the Antichrist who will provoke a war that will fulfil their biblical prophecy...

Hulu has dropped an action-packed trailer to “No Man’s Land,” an epic war series, love story and, above all, tale of personal odyssey.
Setting it apart, the eight-part series takes place against the background of the Syrian Kurd Ypj women’s militia push back against Isis, a struggle featuring formidable female fighters.
A Hulu Original, set to bow in the U.S. on Nov. 18, “No Man’s Land” is created by “Fauda” and “First Flag” producer Maria Feldman as well as Eitan Mansuri, behind Omri Givon’s 2018 Canneseries best series winner “When Eagles Fly.”
In a pedigree creative package, the series is written by “False Flag’s” Amit Cohen and “Euphoria’s” Ron Leshem.
That is reflected in a multi-level series which is at once intimate drama and geo-political eye-opener, and spangled by set piece action scenes between the Ypj and Isis, which make up much of the trailer.

Madrid — Omri Givon, one of Israel’s only true showrunners, wears his heart on his sleeve, bearing his series’ plot-drivers from the get-go.
“When Heroes Fly,” a 2018 Canneseries best series winner, begins with a battle of shocking sonic ferocity that explains the sense of brotherhood and loss, as well as trauma, sluicing the series.
An intimate, sci-fi mind-bender, “The Grave” – one of the big new Israeli series hitting this and next week’s Series Mania/MipTV virtual marketplace, kicks off with an earthquake at a nature reserve. It cuts rapidly, however, to the house of its park ranger, Yoel Russo, as he smashed the jammed door into his son’s bedroom to rescue him, furniture crashing around them.
That same earthquake opens up a shallow pit, exposing three skeletons whose DNA matches prove, beyond reasonable doubt, to be those of three people who are very much alive. The conundrum drives the eight-part series’ thriller narrative.

Pascal Breton’s Federation Entertainment is joining forces with Drama-Team to co-produce “The Grave,” the next series written and directed by high-profile Israeli showrunner Omri Givon following “When Heroes Fly” which just won the best series award at Canneseries.
Federation Entertainment previously partnered up with Drama-Team and Givon on the hit show “Hostages” which sold worldwide.
“The Grave,” an eight-part mystery drama series, is set in the aftermath of an earthquake. The mystery lies in the discovery of three human skeletons which are discovered at the bottom of a huge pit inside a nature reserve. But test results indicate that these skeletons are those of individuals who are still alive.
Taking place between the Northern landscapes of Israel to the dirty alleys of South Tel Aviv, “The Grave” tells the story of a man who has lost the love of his life and the mother of his child, and would do anything to cheat death.

Cannes — Canneseries suggested we are “living in a golden age of global television,” said Harlan Coben, emphasizing the world “global.” Here, extrapolating from its series , are 8 trends in global drama:
1.Women Power
Women are sticking it to men. Sometimes quite literally, as in “Killing Eve,” where Jodie Comer’s Villanelle, a brilliant, if nonchalant, female assassin, finds an original use for a hair-pin and an Italian mobster’s left eye. “Bullets,” from Finland’s Vertigo, which won the sneak-peek MipDrama Buyers Summit Coup de Coeur, forefronts two strong women – an undercover cop, an ex-terrorist – in a series which is both high-octane political thriller and a female friendship drama. “Angelica,” one of the most liked projects at In Development, is set at the last abortion clinic in a conservative U.S. state which becomes a flashpoint for broader divisive social confrontation. Of the 12 drama series projects presented at In Development, there...
