Adam Wingard obliterated the kaiju-sized box office earlier this year with "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," the follow-up film to his moderate hit, "Godzilla vs. Kong." Schell is a passionate advocate for queer and underrepresented talent who, at Navigation, will work with a broad range of creators in the horror and genre space. Exclusive: Solstice Studios has optioned feature film rights to Reeves Wiedeman’s New York Magazine article “The Big Hack,” which depicts what experts describe as a plausible doomsday disaster scenario caused by a wide-scale cyberattack on New York City. The recent Colonial pipeline hack purportedly executed by a Russian ransomware group that is spiking gas prices on the East Coast makes the cautionary tale timely.
The article paints a scenario where hackers gain control of everything from the ignition and steering wheels of cars to hospital computers, subways and electricity, plunging the city into total chaos. All of these and other systems are subject to black hat hackers that simply sent Usb sticks to engineers that operate power facilities, promising explanation of benefits. When some of those engineers plugged in the Usb sticks at work, hackers had control. The article appears in the June 13 issue of the mag.

Zak Hilditch was gearing up to shoot Airborne (formerly Celestial Blue), a prescient thriller about a mid-flight pandemic, in Bulgaria mid-year, produced by Liz Kearney and Ross Dinerstein, backed by Xyz Films.

After making his feature directing debut on I Am Mother Grant Sputore has no qualms about making the significant leap to directing the science-fiction thriller Augmented for Warner Bros.
“I feel excited and ready to tackle it,” Sputore tells If as he collaborates with his I Am Mother screenwriter Michael Lloyd Green, who is reworking a spec script by Mark Townend.

Weta Workshop has released a very cool featurette that gives us a behind-the-scenes look at what went into creating the practical robot costume that was used in the Netflix sci-fi film I Am Mother. Yes, in case you didn’t already know, the robot that we saw in this film was not CGI. It was a practical costume, and it was incredibly well made. It’s so cool to see how real they were able to make this robot look.
If you haven’t watched the movie yet, you should check it out. It’s actually really good! It stars Hilary Swank and the story centers on a robot (Rose Byrne) designed to repopulate the earth and she raises a human child (Clara Rugaard). Hilary Swank stars in this post-apocalyptic thriller and is joined by Rose Byrne and new comer Clara Rugaar. The 2018 USA Today bestseller, published in more than 20 countries, tells the story of kind-hearted Lucy Hutton (Hale) and her cold, efficient nemesis Joshua Templeton (Amell). Resolving to achieve professional success without compromising her ethics, Lucy embarks on a ruthless game of one-upmanship against Josh, a rivalry that is impossibly complicated by her growing attraction to him.
