Nothing Left to Fear is the first terrific terror tale from Slasher Films (founded by Guns N’ Roses rock legend/horror nut Slash), directed by Gore Verbinski’s visionary protégé Anthony Leonardi III. The film stars James Tupper and Anne Heche as the new pastor and his wife who arrive in Stull, Kansas, with their three kids hoping for an idyllic country life. At first the town and its people look like being the answer to their prayers, but then the supposedly retiring pastor Clancy Brown puts into motion an ancient ritual that unleashes a demonic fury. For Stull is one of the seven gateways to Hell and its inhabitants must quell the Beast who rises to walk the Earth at all bloody costs.

Beware the horror movie that lists its "special effects" team too high in the credits. It's a dead giveaway: "This is what we spent our money on" and "This is what we're proudest of."
But hats off to Spectral Motion and effects maestro Mike Elizalde. The ghosts in "Nothing Left to Fear" are the only things to fear in this pedestrian spook fest.
They could have pitched this as a reunion of the on-and-off-screen paramours of the late TV show "Men in Trees" -- Anne Heche and James Tupper. But who remembers that?
They play a preacher and his wife who move their family -- two sassy, profane daughters, Becky and Mary (Rebekah Brandes and Jennifer Stone) and a younger son (Carter Cabassa) -- to Small Town, U.S.A., for a fresh start. Preacher Dan (Tupper) was recruited by Preacher Kingsman (Clancy Brown) to take over his flock upon retirement.

Did you know Slash from Guns 'N' Roses has his own horror movie production company? Us neither. Out of all the non-rock entrepreneurial activities of which Slash would participate, we would have put "movie producing" underneath "skydiving with supermodels" and "fried chicken." But here we are--you're at a computer screen, we're typing it out, and Slash is hanging out with Oscar-nominee Thomas Haden Church, for "Nothing To Fear." Jonathan W.C. Mills is making his directorial debut, after having worked on the effects for Gore Verbinski's "Rango" and "Pirates of The Caribbean: Too Damn Long." The plot concerns a conflict between…...

Slash likes horror movies. Enough so that the top-hat wearing Guns N’ Roses guitar player launched Slasher Films last fall by setting up “Nothing To Fear”, written by Jonathan W.C. Mills. Now the bushy-headed shredder has acquired three new genre properties. Jay Russell is attached to direct “Wake the Dead”, a contemporary re-imagining of “Frankenstein”. It is adapted from the graphic novel by Steve Niles, whose work has been turned into such films as “30 Days of Night”. A deal is being made to produce “Theorem”, to be helmed by “Splice” director Vincenzo Natali from a script he wrote with Mike Finch…about a genius college professor who, trying to break down the genetic compound of an ancient artifact, discovers it’s a relic from hell and that he has unwittingly unlocked the equation for evil. Back in October (wow, that seems so long ago) former Guns N' Roses guitarist and epic musician Slash dropped the news that he was forming his own horror movie production company, Slasher Films, with Nothing to Fear by Jonathan W.C. Mills as the first flick out of the gate. Today h3 spoke a bit more about his projects.
"We're going to be putting out two, maybe three movies per year," Slash told Artist Direct. "They'll be really high quality, very character-driven, and insanely scary horror movies. They're not going to be scary in the sense that you're waiting for a monster to come out and cut off someone's arm. They're going to be psychologically scary and intense. They'll hearken back to those great movies of the '60s and '70s and even way before that. I think when A Nightmare on Elm Street came out was the last stretch of really great horror movies.

Over the years, heavy metal and horror have had a history of being interconnected. Alice Cooper made an appearance in John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons starred in Trick or Treat, Dee Snider wrote and starred in Strangeland. Then, of course, there is Rob Zombie, whose music was influenced by old horror movies for years, until he finally decided to get behind the camera himself. Now we've got another rock musician who is going to be attaching his name to horror movies, and I suppose in a way, it's only appropriate. The first horror/thriller project written by Jonathan W.C. Mills, is already in development and its called Nothing to Fear. The film tells the story of a young family as it tries to reinvent itself by moving to a small town in rural Kansas. The family is tormented by an ancient demon with an insatiable blood lust.
The new company was formed with the help of Scout Productions who has developed films such as Transsiberian, Session 9 and Fog of War. They will also end up financing the development of screenplays for Slasher Films.
