Paramount’s all-woman cast of Special Ops: Lioness released its season 1 finale today, and it’s just as much gunfire and bloodbath as one can expect from such an episode. In the penultimate episode, Cruz took off in a plane to fly to Mallorca, Spain, where Aaliyah’s wedding ceremony will be hosted. Season one of Paramount+’s Special Ops: Lioness wraps up with episode eight, and the season finale’s teaser shows that Cruz is completely on her own as the mission comes to an explosive conclusion. Season one episode eight, “Gone is the Illusion of Order,” will be available to stream on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

Paramount’s spy thriller Special Ops: Lioness dropped its fourth episode today, and it shows how difficult the job of a spy can be. In the previous episode, Cruz, the agent that Jay had chosen to infiltrate the Amrohi family, was flown off to an unknown location by Aaliyah, the fiancée of Ehsan Amrohi. Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming spy drama series “Lioness” at Paramount+ has added four new cast members, Variety has learned exclusively.
Sam Asghari, Carla Mansour, and Adam Budron will all guest star in the series, while Martin Donovan will appear as a recurring guest star.
The four join previously announced cast members Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, James Jordan, Lamonica Garrett, Austin Hébert, Hannah Love Lanier, and Jonah Wharton.
“Lioness” is based on a real-life CIA program. Per the official series description, it follows “Cruz Manuelos (De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within.” Saldaña will play Joe, described as “the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives.”
Asghari will play Kamal, described as “Ehsan’s brother, who is an inveterate, unapologetic womanizer.
