The television series Riverdale exposed an entirely new generation to the world of Archie Comics, and as many have been discovering, that world is loaded with treats for horror fans.
The aptly titled Archie Horror label branches off from the main comic series to give readers tales of monsters, werewolves, vampires and even satanic cults. These spooky tales evoke the tradition and feeling of classic horror comics such as Tales From the Crypt and The Vault of Horror and remain a quirky highlight in the pantheon of modern horror comics.
But where does one even get started with Archie Horror? Especially with the recent influx of new titles and one shots? Here’s a primer of the best starting titles for those interested in exploring the various chills and thrills that Archie and the gang have cooked up over the years.

Last month, we had the great pleasure of exclusively revealing Francesco Francavilla's variant cover for Archie Comics' The Return of Chilling Adventures in Sorcery, and as the spooky season creeps ever closer, we're now excited to exclusively debut Vincenzo Federici's interior penciled pages from The Return of Chilling Adventures in Sorcery (featuring Madam Satan getting up to macabre mischief on the mortal plane now that she's escaped Hell), along with development art by Vincenzo Federici, Liana Kangas, and Corin Howell!
Here's what Vincenzo had to say about bringing Madam Satan to life:
"Working on Madam Satan adventures is an incredible visual experience. First of all, it's amazing to have the opportunity to draw such great characters from both Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, since my wife and I are fans of the TV shows. My approach is to be respectful of the character design by giving them my personal touch.

Back in October of 2013, artist Francesco Francavilla and writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa forever changed the landscape of Archie Comics when they unleashed zombies in Riverdale in their highly popular horror comic series Afterlife with Archie.
It's especially fitting, then, that Francavilla has created spine-chilling variant covers for two of Archie Comics' upcoming horror one-shots—Chilling Adventures of Salem and The Return of Chilling Adventures in Sorcery—and we're thrilled and chilled to exclusively reveal Francavilla's gorgeously haunting variant covers with Daily Dead readers!
Here's what Francavilla had to say about how he was able to tap into his love of cats to help bring new horror artwork to Archie Comics this fall:
I was very excited when Archie Comics asked me to do a cover for the new title Chilling Adventures Of Salem! You see, I'm cat people: I'm currently taking care of an indoor cat and at least 3-4 outdoor...

Machine Gun Kelly has released an anthemic new track, “Love Race,” featuring Kellin Quinn of the rock band Sleeping With Sirens and Travis Barker.
The pop-punk track sees Mgk recounting a tale from high school in which he saw the girl of his dreams with someone else. “God was a girl/The devil wore a t-shirt/Love is a game and they/Were kissing in the bleachers,” he sings. Kelly and Quinn describe being “on the run” to get their true love back, their voices growing in urgency as the song goes on.

As the saying goes, comedy is hard, dying is easy — something that’s never been more true than in AfterShock’s new comic book series, Knock ‘Em Dead — a supernatural horror book about the comedy business.
Written by Eliot Rahal (Hot Lunch Special, Midnight Vista), the series centers around Pryor Brice, a wannabe comedian who’s finding it harder than he’d hoped to break into the industry — until an accident changes everything, and makes it all too clear that there’s more of a price to fame than Pryor could have realized.
According to writer and co-creator Rahal, the series is about “fame,...

Creepy and Engaging. To me, that’s the way every scary summertime story should be. Well, summer’s over but the latest from Aftershock, Midnight Vista, gave me that same type of feeling. I think that as I read this series during the fall, I’ll be able to keep that summertime vibe in the months ahead.
This series introduces us to Oliver Flores, a child of divorced parents. As the series opens, we get to overhear an entirely unpleasant back and forth conversation between the feuding parents. Anyone who’s ever been either a witness to or a part of that type of family argument knows how rotten it can be. Even though the boy, and maybe the readers, want to ignore the verbal fight, writer Eliot Rahal captures it realistically. It’s almost as if he’s established a covenant with the readers right away, so that you...
