Although Stephen King is the undisputed leader of horror fiction, along with other contemporary authors such as Clive Barker, Ann Rice, and Dan Simmons, the American King of Horror is also a great connoisseur of film and television.
In fact, live-action adaptations of Stephen King's work have been around for nearly 50 years, and King has personally worked on or been involved in the production of several of them. His love of movies and shows is second only to that of another master of the horror genre, Guillermo del Toro, who often boasts of his encyclopedic knowledge of cinema.
As a result, King himself is not shy about sharing his own discoveries in the world of cinema and television, regularly posting reviews or simple observations on social platforms about what he has recently seen and what particularly impressed him.

Interview with the Vampire is a bonafide hit.
The AMC series has already been quickly renewed for a season two and is taking the internet by storm. A brilliant reimagining of the Anne Rice classic, the series has crafted a compelling narrative, and an excellent cast brings it to life.
The effervescent and exquisite Kalyne Coleman plays the formidable Grace de Pointe du Lac, and TV Fanatic was able to snag a few minutes of her time to talk about that devastating scene during Interview with the Vampire Season 1 Episode 3 and what's next for Grace this season.
How familiar were you with Interview with the Vampire before booking this role?
So, first of all, I got this audition on a weekend when I had multiple auditions, and I didn't know how I was going to get them done. And then, this came in on a Saturday, and I could not...

AMC Networks studio and entertainment chief Dan McDermott said the company’s modest scale, multiplatform distribution and talent relationships have enabled it to compete against an array of deeper-pocketed rivals.
During a fireside chat at the company’s programming summit in Brooklyn, McDermott also addressed the end this year of longtime programming pillars The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul and Killing Eve.
“Every great show, every great experience at some point comes to an end,” he said of the series finales. “We’re so grateful to have had these shows on our platforms. They helped define AMC as a home for premium content.”
McDermott said developing worthy follow-ups to that potent trio is simply “my job.” Assessing the development slate and library holdings when he started at the company in 2020, he said, was a helpful start, but even more determinate was the company’s decision shortly after his arrival to fully embrace streaming.

The Feast of All Saints is an adaptation Ann Rice's novel of the same name. The movie was broadcast as a mini-series via ShowTime back in 2001 and covers an intriguing subject:
Set in nineteenth-century New Orleans, the story depicts the gens de couleur libre, or the Free People of Colour, a dazzling yet damned class caught between the world of white privilege and black oppression. The film stars James Earl Jones, Jennifer Beals, Gloria Reuben, Victoria Rowell, Jasmine Guy, Ruby Dee, Robert Richard, Nicole Lyn and Bianca Lawson. What's nice about this story is we get a rare look at biracial/mixed people in that period. The accents sound cheesy at times, but overall the movie is worth a watch. Beals, Lyn and Lawson have quality scenes together, perhaps some of the most poignant. I especially enjoyed the ballroom dance scenes and classical music soundtrack which aren't often accompanied in most black films.
