Type O Negative’s seminal album Bloody Kisses turned 30 this year, and Z2 Comics is celebrating the occasion with a graphic novel and picture-disc vinyl reissue.
The graphic novel will feature 12 stories based on songs from what is widely considered the ultimate gothic metal album. The book includes art and stories from contributors Andy Biersack (Black Veil Brides), Carla Harvey (Butcher Babies), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), and Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory), and more. A release is set for spring 2024.

We’re deep into Halloween season now, and one batch of movies I like to revisit around Halloween are the monster movie classics from Universal – as well as the non-Universal 1987 monster mash The Monster Squad. I’m sure it’s the same for a lot of horror fans. So, of course, October was the perfect time to announce that Universal Monsters: The Official Coloring Book will be reaching store shelves next year! It does have the random release date of July 16, 2024… but that just means we’ll have three months to secure our copies before Halloween season rolls around again. In fact, you can secure your copy right now by putting in a pre-order on Amazon.

Killogy is an ambitious animated post-apocalyptic crime series produced by The Boondocks producer Rodney Barnes. The first teaser has hit the web and I think it looks like a complete blast.
Killogy is based on the Idw comic created by Alan Robert and features the voices of Frank Vincent (The Sopranos), Marky Ramone (The Ramones), Brea Grant (Dexter) and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein (The Misfits).
Synopsis:
Killogy finds Sally Sno-Cones (Vincent), Summer Rhoades (Grant) and Cole Edwards (Ramone) locked in a prison cell, accused of murder — just as the world is being overrun by a zombie apocalypse. The trailer shows the rag-tag gang taking on a disembodied undead head, and a reawakened voodoo curse flooding the streets of New York with blood.

The Wrap report that musician/writer Alan Robert's (Killogy) latest book The Shunned One is already in the process of being adapted for the big screen. The comic itself won't be with us until early 2015, but Grizzly and Corrosion writer Jack Reher is already at work on the movie script. Robert and his Wasted Talent Entertainment label will co-produce alongside the Coalition Group, whose sister firm Radical Studios produced the likes of Oblivion and Brett Ratner's upcoming take on Hercules starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. According to the synopsis, The Shunned One "centers on an angel of death who goes rogue after refusing to take innocent human lives. His actions alter balance in the universe, causing a chain reaction of unforeseen disasters. As a result, a pack of vengeful death angels are sent down to hunt him. He must hide amongst the humans while trying to undo the damage he's done.

It was during last year's Comic-Con that we first told you about the partnership between Life of Agony's Alan Robert and Idw which resulted in the graphic novel The Shunned One. Today we learned that it's being adapted for the screen.
Jack Reher is the man who is behind the adaptation. The book focuses on an Angel of Death who goes rogue after being ordered to take several innocent lives. This guilt-ridden death angel begins to carry out his own judgment on humans based on their actions instead of whether their names appear on the preordained Death List.
The Angel’s unsanctioned murders instantly alter the balance within the universe and trigger a string of unforeseen disasters that spiral out of control. Ever heard of a comic that uses real-life celebrities as the inspiration for its characters? That's exactly what you'll find in Alan Robert's Killogy, an off-the-wall, genre-busting mash-up of crime, dark comedy, and horror that throws three murderers into one prison cell together.
Written and illustrated by Robert (an accomplished horror comic creator, writer, illustrator, and musician), this original, four-issue mini-series kicks off in October 2012 from award-winning comics publisher Idw Publishing. Robert, creator of the hit series Crawl to Me and bassist for Life of Agony, based his characters on the likenesses of celebrities Frank Vincent (Goodfellas, Raging Bull, "The Sopranos"), Marky Ramone (formerly of The Ramones), and Brea Grant ("Heroes", "Dexter"). He explains, "I had specific ideas on what these characters should look like, and I’d constantly find myself comparing them to the stars we ended up approaching. I thought it would be a complete long shot to get them involved,...

David A. Armstrong, who, save for Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, photographed each grisly entry in the infamous Saw series, is currently working on his directorial debut Pawn. The project, a crime drama that follows “an ex-con [who] becomes entangled in a manipulative chess game between the Feds, local police and the mob,” has been well-documented around these parts; featuring a cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Ray Liotta, Stephen Lang, Michael Chiklis, and Nikki Reed, the indie-produced film started shooting in early December.
Perhaps it says promising things about Pawn, then, that Armstrong has wasted very little time confirming his next directorial undertaking — an adaptation of Alan Robert‘s comic book series Crawl to Me, the first printing of which “has sold out within a week of its release.” The premise is as follows: “[Taking] place in an isolated country town during the frigid winter months, [it] centers on a young family as...

Rock musicians infiltrating the horror industry is nothing new. Only recently, Guns'n'Roses' Slash announced himself as a film producer, and now Life Of Agony's Alan Robert is getting in on the action, via his other sideline as a comics writer. His Crawl To Me mini-series has been picked up for a movie adaptation, to be directed by Saw cinematographer David A. Armstrong. The story involves a young family moving into their first home, an isolated country pile, during a frozen winter. They quickly discover that the house goes bump in the night. And sings. And talks. And makes their pets disappear. And they have to confront their own relationships and beliefs in order to take on the entity they've awoken. Armstrong has a long history as a camera operator and cinematographer, and isn't new to horror, since he shot six of the seven Saws (and, er, Hellraiser: Revelations). Recently though,...
