With Diane Lane for a mom and Christopher Lambert as her dad, Eleanor Lambert grew up with a strong background in the entertainment industry. She also had Josh Brolin as her stepfather at a certain point. As such, Lambert has some really big shoes to fill and she seems to be doing justice to her family legacy. In addition to acting, Diane Lane’s daughter is also making a name for herself as a model and writer. Far from just being the daughter of industry greats, Eleanor Lambert is an actress in her own right. She is known for her performances...

It’s the day we observe the Met Gala — a pinnacle moment in American culture, resulting in countless headlines, thousands of memes, and sometimes a scandal or two. Remember when Jay-Z went toe-to-toe with Solange in an elevator after rumors broke about his alleged infidelity? It’s the only time when showing up dressed as a sexy Pope Francis could actually be endorsed, and the only place you can get accused...

Several years after a falling out with her family in Detroit, a young woman returns to the city she grew up in to mourn the sudden death of her twin brother. Upon meeting her brother’s eclectic group of friends, stepping into the scene he belonged to, and navigating the urban playground that is Detroit, she soon discovers that his death is not what it seems.
Given the rising cost of living and stagnant wages, the famous saying that goes “You can never go home again.” Is more like “You can never leave home.” However Time Now does feature a protagonist, Jenny, who has left home, only returning to sort things out after the death of her twin brother.

Veteran actress Kelly Bishop is more than deserving of her first Emmy nomination for her memorable portrayal in “Halston” of Eleanor Lambert, the innovative fashion publicist who founded the Met Gala and New York Fashion Week. TV academy members checking out Ewan McGregor‘s powerful performance in the title role have an extra treat in store with this sly turn by an actress clearly at the top of her game.
Lambert was a huge admirer of Halston. In the second episode of the Netflix limited series, she coerces the reluctant designer to represent the United States in the “Battle of Versailles” in which top American designers vied for international bragging rights with the top names from Europe. Having seen Halston browbeat his underlings mercilessly, it’s fun watching him getting a taste of his own medicine from the elegantly catty Eleanor.

In episode two of Netflix's Halston, fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert (Kelly Bishop) pressures Halston (Ewan McGregor) to participate in the Battle of Versailles Fashion Show in 1973. Although it's relatively unknown outside of the style world, the Battle of Versailles switched up the industry forever. Featuring the very best of American and French fashion, the event was meant to be a fundraiser to restore the Palace of Versailles. It was a bit of a faceoff as well, with American designers Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, Anne Klein, Halston, and Stephen Burrows going up against French icons Yves Saint Laurent, Hubert de Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Christian Dior, Emanuel Ungaro, and Marc Bohan. And yes, Josephine Baker and Liza Minnelli were very much in attendance!
Needless to say, the showcase really did exist and essentially kicked off the tradition of Paris Fashion Week. If you're wondering if the costumes and designs in Halston are accurate,...

The family of late fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick, professionally known as Halston, has issued a statement against Netflix’s upcoming series based on his life, calling it “inaccurate” and “fictionalized.”
“The Halston Archives and Family were not consulted on the upcoming Netflix series involving an inaccurate, fictionalized account of famed fashion designer, ‘Halston,'” the family said in a statement to the Associated Press. “The Halston Archives remains the only definitive and comprehensive source on the man and his legacy as the personally appointed custodian of his private papers and effects.”
Lesley Frowick, director of the Halston Archives and Halston’s niece, told Variety that the family was “never contacted” about the series, and were “collectively disappointed” by its production.
“I would like to let you know that in no way was the Halston family ever contacted about this production,” Frowick wrote in a statement to Variety. “Halston’s...

You don't have to know much about Halston to appreciate that Netflix's limited series about him is going to be wild. Billed as the "untold story" behind the American fashion designer's success, Halston looks bold, backstabby, and filled with the kind of drama that'll make you put aside all your other shows for a binge. Ewan McGregor is playing Halston, and he's joined by a gigantic cast of names: Krysta Rodriguez as Liza Minnelli, Rebecca Dayan as Elsa Peretti, Bill Pullman as David Mahoney, Gian Franco Rodriguez as Victor Hugo, David Pittu as Joe Eula, Sullivan Jones as Ed Austin, Rory Culkin as Joel Schumacher, Kelly Bishop as Eleanor Lambert, and Vera Farmiga as Adele. While Ryan Murphy is (of course) an executive producer, the series is directed by his frequent collaborator Daniel Minahan, who has directed episodes of everything from Grey's Anatomy to Game of Thrones.

The history of the Met Gala can be divided into three eras: Eleanor Lambert's founding, the Diana Vreeland renaissance and the Anna Wintour empire. Without these style icons, the Met Gala would merely be a fundraiser rather than the party of the year. One could even say that without these trailblazers, fashion wouldn't be included among the works of art that are currently displayed for the masses at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Instead, these timeless pieces would remain in the vaults of famous ateliers, collecting dust. But Eleanor Lambert, among others, had a different vision for the ensembles designed by Christian Dior, Coco Chanel and designers...
