Outback Wrangler star Matt Wright has been charged over a helicopter crash that killed fellow cast member Chris Wilson.
Wright, 43, a crocodile trapper and star of the National Geographic adventure series, had earlier handed himself in to police at a Darwin station following an arrest warrant, but strenuously denies any wrongdoing in the incident.
He was charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, destroying evidence, fabricating evidence, making a false declaration, interfering with witnesses and two counts of unlawful entry.
Wright was bailed to appear at Darwin local court on Wednesday morning (30 November).
In a statement to the Australian Associated Press, a representative for Wright said: “Matt strenuously denies any wrongdoing. What happened was a tragic accident that took the life of a close mate.”
The representative added: “His immediate concern following the accident was the condition of the two team members on board at the time. The...

For years we’ve been hearing that writer/director Joe Cornish and actor John Boyega have been talking about making a sequel to their 2011 alien invasion film Attack the Block (watch it Here). The project was officially announced last year – and now Boyega has revealed to the folks at Collider that he and Cornish have been crafting the story for Attack the Block 2 together.
Boyega said,
The story has actually been presented by myself and Joe Cornish. We’ve collaborated heavily on making a story that makes sense for Moses and the other characters, and the new characters that will be coming up in the sequel too. And then, also, there’s different perspectives in writing it, with Joe having his perspective and me having mine. London has changed so much, in so many different ways, over the years since the first movie. We’re just trying to make...

Warning: Spoilers ahead for the first episode of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” on Disney+
Disney+ has added a content warning to the premiere episode of the new series “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” in light of recent events. The addition came on Friday after many “Star Wars” fans were both perplexed and a bit upset after the premiere debuted on Thursday night.
“Although this fictional series is a continuation of the story from Star Wars movies filmed many years ago, some scenes may be upsetting to viewers in light of the recent tragic events,” the note reads in the “details” section of the show. “Warning: Contains violence involving children.”
The warning comes thanks to the first minutes of the new Disney+ series, in which audiences are taken through a recap of the events of the prequels, showing exactly where Obi-Wan’s story left off. But when the recap finishes, the story doesn’t immediately begin 10 years later.

When I saw the title Ravenstein my first thought was I’d found an Edm mad scientist film, Ravers meets Depraved if you will. Then I saw the synopsis and the director. A film about two friends who run afoul of a birdman in an abandoned factory, directed by Eveshka Ghost who gave us the three-hour, no-budget fantasy The Bastard Sword? And it’s free on Tubi? How could I not watch it?
David (James McClusky; The Bastard Sword) and Marky (Nik Kaneti-Dimmer; The Granary) are riding their bikes one night when they notice part of the fence around an old worksite has fallen over, with nothing better to do they decide to go exploring. They find an abandoned glass factory and some terrible jokes. “My dad used to work in glass.

Numbers, those longtime pillars of the entertainment business, determiners of pay scale and quantifiers of the hot and the not, are vanishing from public view.
Streaming’s inexorable takeover of the industry has altered the once-straightforward process of measuring the performance of TV programs and movies. Of course, there has been grumbling for decades about Nielsen’s methods or the validity of box office projections, but there was generally some kind of verdict once a show aired or a movie opened. Today, not so much.
As companies transact directly with consumers and don’t always put advertising at the center of their calculations, viewership stats have become more elusive than at any time in the past few decades. Traditional gauges of linear viewing seem less relevant than ever, and TV programming outside of sports is increasingly judged by how effectively it lures streaming subscribers. As movies stream either at the...

Though the coronavirus is still, as President Trump put it last week, a “thing,” universities around the country are opening for the fall semester, albeit with an array of restrictions in place that are intended to tamp down the virus’ spread among students and faculty. But those restrictions seem to be particularly lax at public universities in Georgia, where students and faculty have been protesting a reopening plan predicated on in-person instruction, and which critics feel does not adequately address several potentially hazardous areas of student life.

The Eastern Front is the story of some German soldiers whose unit has been all but decimated (we are told). The men are making their retreat (I think) from the Russians back to there homelands on the Eastern Front. Somewhere on the way they have picked up some pretty tasty (I mean fighting wise you perverts) Russian dames, and because there are females in the mix everything is going to fall apart for our band of merry Nazis. [Full disclosure before we crack on, this movie took me about 4 attempts to finish both due to the 2-Hour length and I have been working quite a lot lately]
Over the last few years I have come to find that behind the scenes on these movies, especially lower budget indie stuff, their is a team of hardworking individuals that are trying to create something they can be proud of when they send out into the world. This movie is absolutely no exception.

We’ve got a new video from the set of director Todd Phillips Joker along with a collection of new photos to share with you today. They feature Joaquin Phoenix decked out in full make-up and also wearing a classic Joker-style suit.
Some fans were wondering if that first look we got of The Joker was going to be the final look of the character in the film, and judging by what we are seeing in these set photos and video, it looks like that it will be. I’m actually ok with that! I dig this look and I think Phoenix is going to completely own this character and give us something incredible.
I also included a couple other photos from the set. One featuring a poster of Thomas Wayne running for Mayor and another featuring a Gotham City subway map that is full of Batman Easter eggs for fan to search for.

Earlier today, Universal brought the goods to San Diego Comic-Con. During a very exciting panel, the studio offered up a look at two of their most anticipated releases. Up first, of course, was Glass. The threequel’s been building a steady amount of buzz for months now and today, they finally unveiled the first trailer, giving us a glimpse into what looks like another dark, twisted thriller from the mind of M. Night Shyamalan.
But there was another, perhaps even more anticipated film in attendance, too. Its name? Halloween. Yes, David Gordon Green’s upcoming sequel was present at Universal’s panel and though the footage they showed off hasn’t made its way online just yet – and it probably won’t, unfortunately – what we’re hearing about it has us very excited indeed.

John Krasinski’s thriller “A Quiet Place” made a lot of noise at the box office this weekend. And perhaps that’s apropos, since a lot of people have been complaining about loud moviegoers at their screenings of the film.
While it’s important to not text message, answer calls, talk or loudly eat popcorn and snacks that might annoy people and ruin the experience of a movie — no matter what you’re seeing — it’s especially true of “A Quiet Place.” The film, directed by and starring Krasinski, who co-leads with his wife Emily Blunt, is a horror movie about a family who live in silence, thanks to monsters that hunt whatever they can hear. And since nearly the whole movie is in silence with very little dialogue, literally every pin drop can send hearts racing.
TheWrap even made an etiquette video, urging theatergoers to be quiet during the movie. But it fell on, at least some, deaf ears. Based Twitter reaction, the film got ruined for a whole lot of people.
Gee, thanks.

Saw A Quiet Place just now.. the woman behind me couldn't keep quiet for more than 2 minutes, it was either talking, reacting or eating individually wrapped sweets! Other than that I loved it! #AQuietPlace #cineworldunlimited

Some casting details are coming in for Plan B's (Ben Drew) hip-hop musical Ill Manors. Mem Ferda has been attached to this production as the villain Vladimir, who lives a tough life on the streets of East London. These tough times are taken out on the character Katya (Natalie Press), who plays a prostitute. Ferda changed physically for this role by weightlifing and having several temporary tattoos applied to his skin. The original graphics can be seen left. Other characters had to transform for their roles to play those down on their luck and also starring are Riz Ahmed, Martin Serene, and Anouska Mond.
Others might know Plan B based on his musical talents including his chart topping album "The Defamation of Strickland Banks." Ill Manors will have a hip-hop musical vibe that will set the vicious tone for the film, with Plan B co-producing several new tracks for this film.

This is the review for Blitz on Pure Movies. The film is directed by Elliott Lester and starring Jason Statham (The Expendables, Snatch, The Transporter), David Morrissey (Centurion, Nowhere Boy), Luke Evans (Tamara Drewe, Robin Hood), Aidan Gillen (The Wire, Twelve Rounds), Paddy Considine (Submarine, The Bourne Ultimatum), Richard Riddell, Chris Wilson, Nicky Henson, Elly Fairman and Taya De La Cruz. Ah, the gritty underbelly of South-East London, where every copper is as mean as Jason Statham, every traditional pub has a man with a dog (or two), and every corner has a loony lurking in its shadows. Nathan Parker’s (Moon) adaptation of Ken Bruen’s novel, Blitz, couldn’t get more clichéd if it was a Guy Ritchie crime caper. Thankfully, there’s no cringeworthy ‘apples and pears’ Mockney slang in this – apart from the odd Statham muttering, and the ‘good’ side of the law looks as much...

When I got to see Attack the Block at SXSW, people went crazy for it! This isn’t surprising now when you start to look at all the hype for the movie but at the time, the fact people went nuts over it was a big deal. SXSW was the place where people in America were going to see the movie for the first time and I’m sure that there were many people in the audience who were there to gauge reaction.
I captured the moment on video (you can watch it here) when director, Joe Cornish stood on stage alongside Edgar Wright who servers as Executive Producer on Attack the Block as he asked the audience what they thought of it and whether they thought a Us audience would understand the rather English jokes, humour and accents. The entire audience at the Alamo Drafthouse went crazy for it...

Attack the Block is the next film from Big Talk Productions – the company behind films such as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and the forthcoming Paul. The film, which was written and directed by Joe Cornish (of Adam & Joe fame) is described as:
…a fast funny, frightening action adventure movie that pits a teen gang against an invasion of savage alien monsters. It turns a London tower block into a fortress under siege, and a weapon wielding teenage thugs into heroes.
/Film have just debuted the rather cool UK quad poster for the film (why does a Us site have a poster for a UK film first?) which stars Nick Frost, Jodie Whittaker, Chris Wilson, Luke Treadaway, Joey Ansah, and Lee Nicholas Harris.
Attack the Block is released in UK cinemas on May 13th.

Get Him to the Greek is released on DVD and Blu-ray 1st November and to celebrate, Universal Studios have given us this rather funny and exclusive deleted scene from the movie called ‘Bed’ whcih shows Jonah Hill’s effort to get some action before his girlfriend, played by Elisabeth Moss falls asleep!
The movie is a spin off from the character that Brand plays in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and has a rather impressive cast which includes Russell Brand, Rose Byrne, Tyler McKinney, Zoe Salmon, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Colm Meaney, Jonah Hill, Aziz Ansari, Kristen Bell, T.J. Miller, DeRay Davis and Chris Wilson.
Synopsis: Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) gets things done. The ambitious 23-year-old has exaggerated his way into a dream job just in time for a career-making assignment. His mission: Fly to London and escort a rock god to L.A.’s Greek Theatre for the first-stop on a $100-million tour.

This is the Pure Movies review for Four Lions (directed by Christopher Morris and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Alex Macqueen, Julia Davis, Kayvan Novak, Chris Wilson, Riz Ahmed, Preeya Kalidas, Darren Boyd, Craig Parkinson and Will Adamsdale). Superior satirical comedy is very hard to come by – and even harder when it tackles tricky topics like religion, especially fundamentalist Islam in the UK today, a subject so hot that others dare not touch.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall was riske, silly, funny and rather genius in my opinion and the same team behind that movie have come together to create Get Him to the Greek. The movie brings Aldous Snow back to the big screen in the form of Russell Brand, reuniting him with Jonah Hill and directed Nicholas Stoller. It also stars Rose Byrne, Tyler McKinney, Zoe Salmon, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Colm Meaney, Aziz Ansari, Kristen Bell, T.J. Miller, DeRay Davis and Chris Wilson.
Universal have released the full first 5 minutes on Funny or Die and I’ve embedded the video below for your viewing pleasure. Let us know what you think in the comments below. Is this a movie you would have seen anyway or has this first 5 minutes now whet your appetite for more?

This is the first trailer for Four Lions (directed by Christopher Morris and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Alex Macqueen, Julia Davis, Kayvan Novak, Chris Wilson, Riz Ahmed, Preeya Kalidas, Darren Boyd, Craig Parkinson and Will Adamsdale). Chris Morris' Four Lions is a funny, thrilling comedy that illuminates modern jihadism through the prism of farce. It understands jihadists as human beings. And it understands human beings as innately ridiculous. What This Is Spinal Tap did for heavy metal and Dr Strangelove the Cold War, Four Lions does for the modern face of terrorism. In a British city, four men have a secret plan. Omar (Riz Ahmed) is disillusioned about the treatment of muslims around the world and is determined to become a soldier. This is the most exciting idea Waj (Kayvan Novak) has ever heard. Better still it’s a no brainer because Omar does his thinking for him. Opposed to...

I feel a special bond with the Sundance Film Festival. Not because I’ve been there, but because the guy in charge of it this year, John Cooper, shares my name. Because we share this bond, I feel that I’m able to take license in referring to the man as Coop for the rest of this article.
For the annual event held in Park City, Utah from January 21-31, thousands of films are submitted and screened — this year, 3,724 films were viewed by the festival’s ten programmers. I wonder when they slept.
