Eight of Wolf Entertainment/Universal Television writers rooms are opening this week following the end of the writers strike. Additionally, two new showrunners have been named: “Chicago Fire” Season 12 will be run by Andrea Newman, formerly co-showrunner with Derek Haas; and “FBI: International” Season 3 will be run by executive producer Matt Olmstead.
Haas, who co-created “Chicago Fire,” was the previous showrunner of “FBI: International” as well. He exited Wolf Entertainment last November after 10 years.
While Season 3 of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” was first run by Sean Jablonski then later “Svu” showrunner David Graziano, the team is searching for a new Season 4 showrunner. This will be the show’s seventh showrunner, as Barry O’Brien, Bryan Goluboff, Ilene Chaiken and Matt Olmstead previously held the title. The spinoff has not yet set a date to return to the writers room.

“Selling Sunset” stars Mary and Romain Bonnet might be sold on Bethenny Frankel’s idea of a reality stars union.
“We’re not protected like everybody else is. Even all of our production team, they are union. They’re like, ‘No, you guys are real estate agents. This is reality. So that’s not your actual job, you’re not an actor,'” Mary told Variety on Friday night at the Pencils of Promise Pre-Gala Charity event. The private fundraiser took place at motivational speaker and philanthropist Natasha Graziano’s home in Bel Air.
“Reality wasn’t a thing. Now it’s a big thing. We have awards shows for it,” Mary said. “It just makes sense, though, because reality has taken over.”

NBC is opening up a new fall comedy block on Tuesday nights and has pushed a couple of its drama series to midseason.
The network unveiled its fall schedule, which sees Jon Cryer’s Extended Family run after Night Court, Quantum Leap moves to Tuesday night, while Found replaces Law & Order: Organized Crime on Dick Wolf’s second night in the fall and La Brea, with its short order season, also pushed to midseason.
There are plenty of strike contingencies built into the schedule, in part as a result of NBC renewing shows early and keeping them in production ahead of the writers walking out.
Jeff Bader, President, Entertainment Program Planning Strategy, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, told Deadline that shows such as Night Court, Quantum Leap, Found, The Irrational and Extended Family will all be on the fall schedule even if there’s an extended strike “because we’re...

When “Law and Order: Svu” fans learned Kelli Giddish would exit the series just halfway through Season 24, rumors flew.
The actress played Amanda Rollins — an overhasty rookie turned senior detective and fan favorite — for more than eleven years on the legendary crime show: part of Dick Wolf’s sprawling (if intensely controversial) Law and Order universe at NBC. The character’s sudden departure was reportedly ordered from the top down, per Variety. The decision was attributed to salary negotiations, but also broader directives about the future of the TV franchise. Star Mariska Hargitay, who has portrayed pop culture icon Olivia Benson since the show premiered in 1999, was said to have opposed the move.
Asked about the decision in the wake of Rollins’ “Svu” goodbye, titled “And a Trauma in a Pear Tree,” Giddish told IndieWire: “I’m just so happy with last night and with the way this season especially has gone.

David Graziano, the current showrunner of the long-running Dick Wolf crime-drama Law & Order: Svu, has been accused of workplace misconduct, including bullying, volatile behavior, and misogyny. A Los Angeles Times report published on Thursday, December 8, states that more than a dozen people who have worked with Graziano over the years have accused him of mistreatment in the workplace. The claims include making inappropriate and demeaning comments toward women and people of color, as well as angry outbursts and disrespect towards subordinate staffers. Graziano was named Law & Order: Svu showrunner back in June, ahead of the popular NBC drama’s 24th season. But controversy soon followed. Not long after Graziano accepted the role, the show’s script coordinator, Haley Cameron, exited the series. According to The Times report, claims against Graziano began appearing on an industry listserv after an advertisement for the script coordinator position was posted. “The new showrunner,...

David Graziano, who was named the new showrunner of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” ahead of its record 24th season, has been accused of creating “toxic” work environments and of inappropriate behavior and comments on his previous series, the Los Angeles Times reported on Thursday.
According to the article, the allegations of bullying date back at least 10 years.
“The implication that Mr. Graziano created a hostile work environment, or is sexist, inappropriate and unprofessional is false,” his spokesperson Alafair Hall told TheWrap. “‘Please,’ ‘thank you,’ and ‘excuse me,’ are words seldom heard in writers’ rooms where the focus is murder.”
When the news that “Svu” had tapped Graziano broke, Amy Hartman, who worked as a script coordinator on his Paramount drama “Coyote,” wrote on an email thread, “Graz is super toxic and I’ve never run from a job so fast in my life as I did when I Sc’ed for him.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, Noodle the pug's owner, Jonathan Graziano, announced his beloved dog passed away on Friday at the age of 14. The pup became famous when Graziano began posting on TikTok their morning ritual where he would gently lift the dog up in the morning to see if Noodle would stand and get out of bed or stay put. If Noodle got up, the day was declared a "Bones Day" - a day of productivity - and if he stayed in bed, it was a "No Bones Day," or a day to rest and be kind to yourself.
"Hi everyone. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry to have to share this, but Noodle passed yesterday," Graziano shared with his dog's fans in an Instagram video. "He was at home. He was in my arms. And this is incredibly sad.

Fans are still absorbing the shock after Kelli Giddish confirmed in August she would turn in her badge, 11 years into her role as Svu’s Det. Amanda Rollins. The actress has called the job “one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life.” The nuanced cop brought justice to victims while managing toxic family members, a gambling addiction, relationship issues, single parenthood, and her own trauma of rape. By December 8’s fall finale, showrunner David Graziano says, Rollins has resolved to leave the force after the wake-up bullet she took in the season premiere and “try her hand at teaching” forensics psychology at a local university. She was invited to give a lecture on the subject, and everyone loved her presentation. First, however, she needs the Ok of Capt. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), her mentor and rock. The captain “has encouraged Rollins to open up more in life, emotionally speaking,...

Maggie is back! Missy Peregrym, who left CBS’ “FBI” in April for maternity leave, has returned to set and is filming again, showrunner Rick Eid tells Variety.
When viewers last saw her in Season 4, Maggie was hospitalized after breathing in sarin gas on a case. While Oa (Zeeko Zaki) was able to rescue her in time and save her life, the episode ended with him at her bedside, letting her know that he has no interest in doing the job without her.
Now, as Maggie and Oa are reunited, he’s more protective than ever.
“The first two episodes explore that dynamic. We explore Oa’s attempt to be overly protective and Maggie trying to stake out her own lane in this new chapter of their partnership. Perhaps Oa is blaming himself for certain things he shouldn’t be blaming himself for, so we definitely explore their partnership,” says Eid.

David Graziano, who takes over showrunning duties on “Law & Order: Svu” from longtime executive producer Warren Leight, told TheWrap that Season 24 will be all about “healing and deep trauma” for Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), who’s been put through the wringer over the last two decades on the NBC show.
Graziano is thrilled to be working with Hargitay, who agreed it was time to deal with Benson’s considerable losses over the years. He’s also glad to be reunited with Octavio Pisano — Graziano gave the actor who joined “Svu” last season as Detective Joe Velasco his first big break on the show “Coyote.”

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit fans now know when Amanda Rollins is her bidding farewell.
In an Instagram talk, showrunner David Graziano confirmed that Episode 9 of Season 24 would be Kelli Giddish’s last on the series.
This comes amid controversy as reports indicate that Giddish’s leaving the series was not the actress’ choice but pushed on her by “higher-ups” within either NBC or Wolf Entertainment.
So far, Giddish has not responded to the reports, but co-star Mariska Hargitay has shared some unique thoughts of her own.
Now, Graziano shared how Hargitay helped him in this “rough” time while giving hints to how Rollins’ story can end.
This may not soothe some fans’ feelings about the exit, but it promises Rollins will have a good sendoff to honor the character.

As Law & Order: Svu fans react to the news of Kelli Giddish's imminent departure, a surprising new revelation has come to light.
Variety reported Thursday that the veteran actress had no say in the decision to write the character of Rollins out of the series.
Additionally, the outlet reports that series lead Mariska Hargitay and at least one other producer pushed for the series to keep Giddish on the cast.
It's unclear why the actress was let go, but "salary negotiations and her future on the show were part of the conversation and, ultimately, a compromise couldn't be made."
Showrunner David Graziano is also said to not have had a say in the decision.
Graziano is taking over the series from Warren Leight this season and had to contend with criticism on his social media channels after news of Giddish's exit was announced.

Longtime former Law & Order: Svu showrunner Warren Leight has shared his thoughts on the upcoming exit of cast member Kellie Giddish, who announced she would be leaving the show after 12 seasons.
“Writing for Kelli Giddish was an unmitigated joy,” Leight wrote on Instagram Thursday. “She has always had perfect pitch, from first read-through to final take. I thank her for defining Rollins. Godspeed, Kelli.”
Giddish later replied to Leight’s post in an Instagram story, writing, “I never took it lightly getting to be a character you created and wrote for year after year.”
Leight had served two stints as showrunner on Svu, the first at the beginning of Season 13 when the drama had just lost its co-lead Christopher Meloni. He rejoined Svu in 2019 for the show’s record-breaking 21st season, and exited after a three-season run in May.

Kelli Giddish’s upcoming “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” exit was not her choice, nor was it a decision made by showrunner David Graziano, Variety has learned.
According to multiple sources, the “Svu” shake-up was a call made from above, with one insider noting that the company is always looking to keep the show as up to date and current as possible.
