The 95th Academy Awards are in the books, with “Everything Everywhere All at Once” making history for lots of reasons. There were celebrations everywhere, in fact, plus gifting lounges, viewing parties and everyone eventually ended up at the Vanity Fair party. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” premiered, too, and two charity events raised lots of cash for very good causes in this busy week that was.

(Left) Julia Roberts; (Right) Cate Blanchett and Natasha Lyonne all attend the 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards.
This week marked a seismic shift in awards season in Hollywood, as key events like the AFI Awards Luncheon and the BAFTA Tea Party shifted away from Golden Globes weekend and onto the one now owned by the Critics Choice Awards. Beautiful and talented people were everywhere, cool new streaming films and shows premiered and it rained like we needed Noah’s Ark here in Southern California. The Sundance Film Festival opened, too, sending everyone who has an independent film into the Wasatch Mountains (more on that next week).

But as Hollywood continues to go live and big as awards season gets geared up to roll for six months from the Emmys on Sept. 12 all the way to the Oscars on March 12, there are definitely some seriously good parties happening from now through Monday.
Make sure you are on the guest list, for these are all invite-only, guest-list affairs. Don’t expect to get through the doors without a vaccination card or a negative test, as that part of partygoing is still firmly in place.
