- Gena (Taylor) Ellis grew up at Summersville Lake in West Virginia going to the movies every Friday night and listening to her Appalachian family tell stories around the dinner table.
She is a writer and wrote the drama, Angela's Decision, on Amazon Prime, plus wrote the companion book on Amazon, Angela's Decision: A Journey of Adaptation. The hybrid book of memoir and fiction contains the original script. Both film and book have been used in university film classes. Gena has also taught screenwriting at college level and seminars at film fests.
Gena writes multi-genre scripts and had a Christmas romance optioned by network. She also specializes in writing adaptations of novels and short stories, to include period piece.

- Gena adapted Alexandre Dumas' novel The Black Tulip into the feature script, Rosa and The Black Tulip. The script had a Live Read at Toronto's Female Eye Film Festival 2016 and won Second Place for Best Screenplay. The script is a finalist in the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival, TinselTown Productions and Honolulu Film Awards. It's a Semi-finalist in the Williamsburg International Film Festival and official selection for the Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival.
