Considering the quality of series Wit Studio has produced during the last few years, with “Attack on Titan”, “Vinland Saga” and “Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song” being among the best we have seen lately, the new movie they produced was bound to garner attention before its release, even more so since the producers decided to premiere it in Berlin before they screen it on Netflix, ahead of its theatrical opening in Japan this May. Let us see how they fared.
Borrowing from “The Little Mermaid”, parkour, and the dystopian aspect so frequently presented in anime, the story takes place in a Tokyo that is almost completely uninhabitable, after the world was overcome by bubbles that came from the sky and eventually exploded, causing mass destruction. The only people who still live there, despite the law that forbids them, are children who were orphaned by the tragedy, who now survive by scavenging...

The story is set in Tokyo, after bubbles that broke the laws of gravity rained down upon the world. Cut off from the outside world, Tokyo has become a playground for a group of young people who have lost their families, acting as a battlefield for parkour team battles as they leap from building to building. Hibiki (Jun Shison), a young ace known for his dangerous play style, makes a reckless move one day and plummets into the gravity-bending sea. His life is saved by Uta (Riria), a girl with mysterious powers who appears suddenly. The pair then hear a unique sound audible only to them. Why did Uta appear before Hibiki? Their encounter leads to a revelation that will change the world.

Split into two parts, the third season of the now concluded title finally sheds some intense light on what and why it is happening, while analyzing a number of characters more intently, starting with Historia and Levi.
After being rescued from the Colossal and Armored Titans, all seems well for the soldiers, until the government suddenly demands custody of Eren and Historia. The reasons for both concepts are eventually revealed, while the role of the Military Police is disclosed fully. A disillusioned Erwin plans a bloodless coup d’etat, while the newly formed Levi Squad find themselves being attacked by a man from their leader’s past, who is also entangled in the overall case. Furthermore, a number of significant truths about the genesis of the Titans, Eren’s past, and the role of the royal family are revealed.
This part is rather intricate story-wise, and essentially very political,...

Since one of the greatest titles of the last decade (to say the least) just ended, we could not but deal with the title, starting from season one, which was released way back on 2013.
For those not familiar with the franchise, “Attack on Titan” is based on Hajime Isayama’s New York Times best-selling manga with over 100 million copies in print world wide, and tells the story of humanity’s last remnants, sheltered behind large “walls” in fear of the giant humanoid “Titans” who hunt them. When the wall is breached and Eren Jaeger’s mother is killed, the young man enlists in the Scout Regiment, the military’s front line in their war to reclaim humanity’s home, angrily declaring that he’ll kill all the Titans. The first season is essentially split into three parts, with the first one introducing the three main characters, Eren,...

Attack on Titan season two has finally gotten a premiere date! During the "Shingeki Matsuri" event that took place over the weekend, it was announced that season two of Attack on Titan will premiere in the spring 2017. They also released an Attack on Titan promo image, along with a list of the cast and crew who will be involved with the second season.
Fans have been waiting for this series for way too long. I’m still bummed that we have to continue to wait until 2017. and all I have to say is that season two better be worth the wait and the patience. The series was supposed to premiere this year, but it was postponed.
Below you'll find a list of the cast and crew. Hopefully, they will deliver a second season that will be absolutely mind-blowing.
The Crew:
Chief Director: Tetsuro Araki (director of first season)
