Mr. Kate, the interior design creator duo comprising husband-and-wife team Kate Albrecht and Joey Zehr -- who rose to fame for making over the rooms of fellow YouTube stars -- are launching their own furniture line this month.
Mr. Kate, which has 4 million subscribers and nabs 2.5 million monthly views, has pacted with Dorel Home -- the home furnishings division of Montreal-based Dorel Industries -- on the venture. Dorel also manufactures juvenile products and bicycles alongside brands like Costco and Cannondale.
The inaugural furniture collection will comprise metal and upholstered beds, accent chairs, futons, and sofa-sectionals. Both functional pieces and decorative accents will run the aesthetic gamut, Dorel says, including minimalist and mid-century modern pieces in fabrics like linen and velvet and touting a multitude of colorways. The couple are set to premiere a television special called Help My House! on Hgtv this weekend, which will also serve as a pilot for a potential series pick-up.
