Over the course of its 44 seasons, “Survivor” has hosted hundreds of immunity challenges where individual players could win the opportunity to save themselves from elimination at tribal council. Since 2000 when the reality TV show began, 15 different contestants have won at least four immunity challenges. However, five of those castaways prevailed five times, a record that has never been broken. In our “Survivor” gallery above, we spotlight those with the most immunity wins in a single season.
Despite four others winning just as many as he did, Colby Donaldson from Season 2 has bragging rights as not only the first player to win five times, but also the only one to do so consecutively. Like Kelly Wiglesworth before him, Colby played the game at a point in time where challenge wins were not held as in high regard as they were later, leaving him in runner-up position to a more social game-focused player in the final vote.

The Survivor universe is both big and small. Claire Rafson met some alums at a watch party and addressed being pictured with fan-favorite Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth.

Lusth first appeared on Survivor: Cook Islands, where the tribes were split by ethnicity. He was on the Aitutaki tribe with other Hispanic American castaways. Lusth stood out for being likable and having fantastic survival skills.
He was runner-up and immediately returned for Survivor: Micronesia as one of the returning castaways going against fans. The former waiter and photographer played again in Survivor: South Pacific and Survivor: Game Changers. He never won the game.
The former reality star’s life after the show includes making public appearances. His Instagram is full of pictures of him enjoying the outdoors and building things as if he had never left the show.

Out of all the popular shows that have changed the course of reality television, Survivor is probably the most iconic. The franchise launched in the United States in 2000 and eventually spawned multiple spinoffs and themed series. One of the most popular aired in 2008, when Survivor: Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites debuted on television. This season would become infamous amongst the fan base, as well as for host Jeff Probst, who opened up before it aired about a red-hot romance that developed between two of the contestants. While Probst remained mum on the identity of the two contestants, many fans have developed a theory about the details of the romance.

Makeup brands often advertise their products as long-lasting and waterproof, and while most are lies, some live up to the hype. Like every other show, Survivor does product placement, some more subtle than others. However, the show indirectly ended up giving one beauty brand a free promo after a contestant’s eyeliner lasted the whole month she was there.

Survivor is an intense and thrilling competition show that never fails to deliver an edge-of-the-seat entertainment experience every season. The show stands as one of the longest-running reality competition shows in history, currently at Season 44, and has earned some contestants celebrity status.

Survivor players spend weeks isolated from the real world and have to rely on basic skills for survival. Given this disconnect, it’s no surprise that the game is a life-changing experience, and players often have a different outlook on “normal life” post-production. And for player Matt Bischoff, one of the experiences that changed for him was sex, saying it was unbelievable after the show.

Survivor contestants endure being stranded on a deserted island and dealing with treacherous weather conditions. But that’s not all. In addition to following strict rules — like being allowed only two luxury items and not talking to the crew — players must compete in various challenges. One of the most notorious is the “Piranha Feast.” And it’s as disgusting as it sounds.
What is the ‘Survivor’ challenge Piranha Feast? ‘Survivor: South Pacific’ castmates Jim Rice, Whitney Duncan, Keith Tollefson, Dawn Meehan, and Elyse Umemoto | Monty Brinton/CBS via Getty Images
This recurring Survivor challenge involved contestants using their mouths to rip hunks of meat off a large roasted animal and placing them into a basket. The tribe with the most meat in the basket when the timer stopped won.
The CBS reality TV show introduced the Piranha Feast — also known as “Hungry for Love” and “Pig Out” — in season 6, Survivor: The Amazon.

Survivor is definitely a show with some serious staying power — it’s currently in its 44th season. And while the $1 million prize money is a great incentive, being a participant can sometimes come with some odd side effects. In the case of former contestant Ozzy Lusth, that happened to be painful sex.

Lusth was on the island for 39 days, which is a long time to go without most basic necessities and traditional shelter. When he was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly in 2021 about his time on the show, he was asked what it was like coming back to “regular society” after his time in the wilderness.
Lusth admitted it was “super rough,” saying “I had just spent 39 days living the ultimate adventure. I really felt like I had a chance to win,...

Our castaways are being fairly dominated by Tyson's game on "Survivor: Blood vs. Water," with Ciera even going along with a vote to oust her mother. Can anyone topple Tyson?
Post-Vote
Everyone at Kasama is acting so somber, like Ciera just sentenced her mom to death or something. At Redemption, Laura M is saying how tough it was -- Vytas and Tina are surprised Ciera did it. C'mon guys, it's not that serious.

Jeff starts things off by saying, "Ciera voted you out of this game. She voted. her mom. out." And Ciera and Laura cry. Again with the melodrama. Stop, you guys. This is getting silly.
Anyway, the challenge is rolling wooden cubes through a rope tunnel, then stacking the cubes so that each side of the four-cube tower has no repeat colors.

Math was never my strongest subject. But it doesn’t take a genius to perform simple arithmetic, and by my count — not including the All Stars or Fans vs. Favorites type seasons — Survivor has now brought back nine returning players to compete alongside newbies. And only one of those nine — Stephenie Lagrossa in Survivor: Guatemala — was a woman. The rest — Bobby Jon Drinkard, Russell Hantz, Boston Rob Mariano, Ozzy Lusth, Benjamin “Coach” Wade, and now Michael Skupin, Russell Swan, and Jonathan Penner on Survivor: Philippines — have all been dudes.

The third time might be the charm for "Survivor: Philippines' castaway Jonathan Penner.
Penner, whose voice and witty wisecracking are a dead ringer for Alan Alda's Hawkeye on M*A*S*H, joins Michael Skupin and Russell Swan as medically evacuated former players getting another chance at winning a million bucks.
After injuring his knee during a challenge in "Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites," Penner developed a severe infection that forced him to leave the game. "After several surgeries -- reconstructive surgery on my knee -- watching it on TV was very, very sad," Penner told us in the Philippines.
"But thank you, CBS -- they edited it like I was going home to the angels. I'm standing out on the boat bawling my eyes out. I'm crying and the birds are flying and the angels are singing.

Winning 2006's Survivor: Cook Islands was pretty tough for Yul Kwon — he beat out Ozzy Lusth! — but it wasn't nearly as stomach-churning as his new hosting gig on the four-part PBS series America Revealed (premiering Wednesday at 10/9c). Based on Britain From Above, the spectacularly filmed show takes a mostly birds-eye view of the U.S. as it tracks the systems that provide the U.S. population with food, energy, transportation and other stuff that makes the country run. "I'm scared of heights and I'm claustrophobic, and I also get severe motion sickness on planes so half the time we were filming I'm scared out of my mind," Kwon says with a laugh. "But it was worth it. This is a big epic series about America." We spoke with the Yale Law School grad, one of the most popular Survivor champs, about his new series, what he's been up to,...

When you get deep enough into "Survivor," every little mistake is a Million Dollar Mistake, even when you're widely regarded as one of the best challenge players in the game's 23-season history. For Ozzy Lusth, the third time was very nearly the charm. After withstanding two tours of duty on Redemption Island, Ozzy returned to the game, won his first Immunity challenge back and stood one challenge away from facing an overwhelmingly Savaii-heavy Jury just itching to vote for him. And the challenge seemed perfectly tailored to Ozzy's strengths, a puzzle that could only be completed after a...

Ozzy Lusth came so close to winning "Survivor: South Pacific." He tells Zap2it why Sophie got his vote and whether or not he'd come back again if he was asked.
Are you glad you went back to "Survivor"?
"Oh, hell yeah. It was everything I hoped it would be, but not more. It was almost. I wished I would've won. I almost won, got so close. So close yet so far away. But it was a great experience. Third time around, I really got some closure on a lot of things. I felt like I did get redemption. I did do what I set out to do and that is play a really wild and crazy, ballsy game. I just wanted to play a game that wasn't fear driven. I wanted to play a really courageous and gutsy game. I played the game without really screwing over anyone. I...

Winning six straight duels (and an immunity challenge after that) was not enough for Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth to take home the million dollars on Survivor: South Pacific, but it did win him a cool $100,000 as the winner of the fan favorite vote. The fourth place finisher called in to chat about his final challenge blues, bizarre sprints, living-on-the-edge strategy, and why he voted for “spoiled brat” Sophie to win.
Entertainment Weekly: What’s up with the sprinting out of Tribal Council every time? I love that!
Ozzy: I have no idea. Tribal Council is always taking too long in my opinion.

Sophie Clarke won six of the Survivor South Pacific jury members' votes and thus the $1 million prize, beating Benjamin "Coach" Wade and Albert Destrade, with Ozzy Lusth taking the $100,000 fan favorite prize in the largest margin in the show's history. Despite her clear victory, however, Sophie was screwed over: by the editing and by host Jeff Probst. Also last night, next season's awesome twist and name, Survivor One World, were confirmed. For the second season in a row, returning players fared well. This time around, both Ozzy Lusth and Coach Wade were still in the game as the Sunday season finale kicked off. Ozzy on Redemption Island, and Coach seemingly sitting atop the alliance that had come to dominate and steer the latter half of the season. But only one player could win the top prize. Could either of them do it?
!!Spoiler Alert!!
Ozzy had to win one finale duel on Redemption Island to even get back into the game, and it was quickly proven again that he had no allies among the remaining contestants. Nevertheless, he outlasted Brandon Hantz and even won the next Immunity Challenge, helping boot "Cowboy" Rick Nelson from the game.
But Sophie Clarkie pulled out a huge victory in the Final Challenge of the season, despite a huge lead by Ozzy, and his fate was sealed.

*full disclosure: a screener of this film was provided by Osiris Entertainment.
Director: John Sjogren.
Writer: Bonnie Orr.
Cast: Derek Lee Nixon, Kerry Wallum and Oscar Lusth.
Slasher films are a dime a dozen, and The Lights is just one of many “killer” titles coming from Osiris Entertainment. That is, if this company is typecasting itself with the kinds of movies it likes to distribute, then The Lights is a comical addition to the slasher-film genre. Most of it is unintentional; the humour cannot go unnoticed especially when Jack Carter is the crazed killer with some silly one-liners, lame kill-zone moments, and uninispired deadpan deliveries.
Some people may want to know why he has gone cuckoo. The explanation is given with the opening act. When he comes home only to have his wife say she’s leaving him because she is in love with someone else, he simply goes berserk.

Divine intervention and/or incredible self-delusion and/or good strategy sent Brandon Hantz to Redemption Island on Survivor South Pacific, as Ben "Coach" Wade turned on his ally after Brandon shockingly gave up immunity during Tribal Council. That sends us into Sunday's finale with Brandon facing off against Ozzy Lusth during the final Redemption Island duel, and Coach, Sophie Clarke, Albert Destrade, and Rick "Who?" Nelson as our final five. Before we get into the crazy events...

Ozzy Lusth's vote for John Cochran was blurred out on last night's Survivor South Pacific, but it wasn't as bad as some people are assuming. Survivor South Pacific delivered the series apparently now-standard post-merge fast-forward episode, burning through two immunity challenges and two Tribal Councils in less than an hour. While that sent Ozzy Lusth out of the game once again, and had some pretty baffling behavior, it was largely predictable and definitely a step down from the crazy drama of last week. Overall, the episode can be summed up in one word for me: anticlimactic. The "frosty reception" Cochran...

For most the pre-Merge segment of this season, there were effectively three tribes: There was the Upolu tribe, featuring the returning Benjamin "Coach" Wade. There was the Savaii tribe, featuring Ozzy Lusth. And finally, there was the Redemption Island tribe, which was basically Christine Markoski and whoever happened to be visiting her. After initially describing Coach as "temporary" and putting a target on her back, Christine was the second player voted out this season, but she followed torch-snuffing by going on run that saw her win five consecutive Duels. Christine's run of Duel supremacy was so impressive that it...

After Ozzy Lusth voted himself out of Survivor South Pacific last week, I really, really wanted the Savaii tribe's plan to fall apart, with Ozzy losing to Christine at Redemption Island, or the merge not showing up as planned. The way their plan actually backfired was far more entertaining than I ever...

After more than a decade as host of Survivor, it takes a lot to shock Jeff Probst. But at tonight's South Pacific Tribal Council, Jeff's jaw dropped in amazement (actually he was so astonished he might have dislocated it) at one Castaway's "ballsy" sacrifice. So who fell on the sword—and mortally wounded their own tribe? In his third attempt at winning Survivor's million-dollar prize, Ozzy Lusth actually snuffed his own torch. Why exactly? It's complicated. With the outnumbered Savaii tribe predicting a merge, Ozzy assigned himself the task of knocking out five-time Redemption Island champ Christine at the next duel. If he succeeds, and the merge does...

Ozzy Lusth got voted off 'Survivor 23 South Pacific' in episode 7 tonight. Tonight's show kicked off with past scenes from last week when Mikayla got booted to Redemption Island. Then they showed commentary footage where the Upolu tribe was talking about how Brandon is becoming a liability. Edna thought it was good because it took the target off her. After the break, they showed Christine and Mikayla's duel at Redemption Island. In the duel, they had to build a bridge with special planks that were also puzzle pieces. Then they had to pick apart the bridge pieces, and put a puzzle together with them. The first one to complete it,won. It was really close, but Christine just edged Mikayla out again for the win. Unfortunately, for Mikayla, she had to take a permanent walk off the island. After the break, Ozzy started trying to work with John, and Ozzy revealed...
