- Dr. Hook is known for El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019), Almost Famous (2000) and The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005).
- The group's 1972 hit song, "Cover of the Rolling Stone", had the line: "We keep getting richer but we can't get our picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone". The band finally made it on to the magazine's cover after the song became a hit.
