Sophie Turner in Louis Vuitton
Andrea Lavinthal, Style & Beauty Director: My favorite red carpet vibe is Hollywood bombshell and with her hot pink, strapless bustier Louis Vuitton column dress (that slit!), voluminous Barbie-inspired blowout and doll-like lashes, Sophie Turner absolutely nailed that aesthetic. And thanks to her, I’m going to invest in some more belts because they’re a total power accessory.

The Grammys red carpet always brings expressive, standout fashion moments from music’s biggest stars. And this year didn’t disappoint. Stars not only had fun with fashion, but many also supported the Time’s up anti-harassment movement by wearing (or carrying) white roses to stand in solidarity and encourage equality. Below we rounded up our red carpet highlights.
Camila Cabello in Vivienne Westwood Couture
Andrea Lavinthal, Senior Style Editor: When you’re ruling not one, not two, but three of Billboard’s biggest charts, you have to bring it to the Grammys, both on stage and on the red carpet.

The countdown to the red carpet is on! The first major award show is more than a week away, but due to some early speculation that many actresses and actors will be dressed in black as a form of protest, the Golden Globes red carpet is already shaping up to be a memorable one. Of course, that night and all awards season long, the People Style editors will be looking to some of the biggest names in the business to make a statement, and that includes the one and only Nicole Kidman.

It’s hard to believe, but awards season is just around the corner, with the Golden Globes kicking things off on January 7. And though we already know many of the major stars (men and women) will be wearing all-black to the Globes in protest against sexual harassment in Hollywood, that still leaves approximately, oh, 300 million more awards ceremonies (and pre-parties, and afterparties) to dress for.

Stars haven’t been holding back with their hair transformations, especially on the red carpet. From bold undercuts to flirty ponytails, nothing seems to be off-limits for some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
One of those daring stars is Viola Davis, who debuted a pixie cut at the 2017 Oscars that she actually cut earlier that day. “Leave it to Viola Davis to cut her hair the day of the award show,” said People’s Beauty Editor Jackie Fields on People Now. “They all know they can grow it back. You’re going to see a lot more risks like this.

Stars haven’t been playing it safe when it comes to color on the red carpet.
Everyone from Mandy Moore to Kate Hudson has been sporting a punchy color on their pouts, which you’d probably be surprised to hear is incredibly easy to pull off, according to People’s Beauty Editor Jackie Fields.
“Anyone can feel kinda like, ‘Oh, it’s not my best day’ and pop on a bold lip and look like a million bucks,” she said on People Now.

Red carpet season is almost here — which means we’re in for a ton of gorgeous dresses, flawless hair and extravagant makeup moments. But this year, there’s a twist: Many of Hollywood’s celebrities will be dressing in all black on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, in order to stand in solidarity against the sexual harassment that’s been taking place in the community. And the lack of color in their wardrobe means that stars will likely get creative with their beauty looks instead. So to get ready for what’s to come, we’re looking back...

What It Is: Minted Personal Art Styling
Who Tried It: Andrea Lavinthal, Style & Beauty Director
Level of Difficulty: 11/10 (Minted made it super easy. My own indecisiveness made it nearly impossible.)
When my boyfriend and I moved from a one bedroom apartment in Manhattan to a three bedroom in Brooklyn last year, I was determined to make our new space look Pinterest-worthy, starting with our living room. I got as far as buying a new couch and a rug before I had a baby and abandoned décor for diapers. A year later I was ready to recommit to the project, only this time with professional help.
