- Nnegest Likké is a multi-award winning writer-director-producer with a passion for making socially and culturally impactful, commercial films. She grew up in Oakland and San Francisco and attended college in Atlanta where she earned her B.A. in Mass Communications at Clark Atlanta University. Before becoming a professionally recognized filmmaker, she was a high school teacher in Los Angeles and discovered a calling for mentoring at-risk youth. She got her start in the entertainment industry after one of her screenplays gained the attention of a top Hollywood Producer who helped launch her career. Her first feature film, Phat Girlz was distributed theatrically by Fox Searchlight. Via her production company, she continues to create cutting edge content for film, television and digital platforms. - Her professional mentor is the late Bobby Newmyer who took a chance on her when he offered to let her direct her first feature film, Phat Girlz. He mortgaged his house to finance the movie before Fox Searchlight picked it up.
