MacGyver would have had to find a way to secure a diaper using paper clips, had CBS decided to order a sixth season of the procedural.
During what I will call “Part 1” of TVLine’s in-depth series finale post mortem, showrunner Monica Macer shared that — building off of seeds planted in Season 5’s quarantine and Indian wedding episodes — Season 6 would have served up a “big, Romancing the Stone-like treasure hunt” in which Russ (Henry Ian Cusick), Mac (Lucas Till) and Bozer (Justin Hires) chase after long-lost Incan loot.

Spoiler Alert: The following article contains details from the series finale of CBS’s MacGyver.
On tonight’s series finale of MacGyver, MacGyver (Lucas Till) and Riley (Tristin Mays) stumble onto a mind control conspiracy, which leads them to question their commitment to the Phoenix Foundation.
Directed by David Straiton, from a script by Alessia Costantini, Stephanie Hicks, Andrew Klein and Monica Maser, “Abduction + Memory + Time + Fireworks + Dispersal” hinges on a plot thread set up in Episode 11, in which Mac and Riley are exposed, via tear gas, to nanoscopic tracking devices.
The episode opens in seemingly ordinary fashion, with Mac, Riley, Desi (Levy Tran) and Bozer (Justin Hires) undertaking an undercover operation at an underground poker game. Desi stealthily places a tracker on the back of a target, and all is going well—until Mac and Riley suddenly go missing.

A sequel to Dave Chappelle’s stoner comedy Half Baked has been on the cards since late last year and those plans won’t be going up in smoke, from the look of things. This week, the project was chosen as one of the recipients of the $40 million in tax credit allocated by the California Film Commission, which should help it move forward as planned.
According to MovieWeb, production on the sequel will need to begin in the next 180 days to make it eligible for the state tax credit. The same report also revealed some extra tidbits about the follow-up, confirming that it will take place in Los Angeles and follow the son of Chappelle’s Thurgood Jenkins from the first film.

It’s hard to know if Justin Hires is kidding around when he expresses utter confidence in Half-Baked 2 or if he thinks this is truly a good idea. To be fair it’s going to take the effort to see what can be done with the sequel before making any snap judgments, but thinking that it’s going to be about the son of Thurgood Jenkins and that Dave Chappelle, aka Thurgood, is going to have nothing to do with it kind of makes a person think that it might not be quite the same. The idea as to whether any of

Jeremy Dick of MovieWeb at least gives a solid explanation of how this movie is coming to be even if the one question some people might have is ‘why?’. Seriously, why is this movie happening? And why is Justin Hires, who might need a quick lesson in humility, bothering to take up this script as he executes a story line that hearkens back to the many different stories that feature the son of this character, or the child of that character, or anything similar that might have occurred back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and so on? This is what

Good news, folks. It looks like a Half Baked sequel is totally happening and, like, totally being made by some comedian named Justin Hires. Because, you know, the universe is super ironic, bro.
Oh, sorry, let me crack a window and…there, better. As the smoke clears, we can now get a better look as to what exactly’s going on. It appears that Mr. Hires, best known for his role as Carter on the short-lived Rush Hour TV show has been tapped to pen the follow-up to the Dave Chappelle vehicle from 1998.
Hires is very excited about it, too, and rather confident sounding on his Instagram profile, where he said the following:
“Excited to announce I’ll be writing the sequel to Half Baked. Yes I know the original is a classic and yes this sequel will be [fire] because I’m writing it. Oh yeah, I write screenplays too.

Henry Ian Cusick has been cast as a series regular on Season 4 of CBS series “MacGyver.” The “Lost” star is set to play Russ in a leading role opposite Lucas Till’s MacGyver.
Per CBS’ character description, Russ is a handsome, quick-witted, Oxford-educated ex-Military man. A master manipulator and salesman and skilled in propaganda and lie detection with an extremely high emotional intelligence, he’s also a very wealthy man. He’s used to getting his way and not beyond enjoying the spoils of war: expensive suits, fast cars, private jets, house in Monte Carlo.
Cusick’s addition to “MacGyver” Season 4 follows the promotion of Levy Tran, who had a recurring role on the drama’s third season, to series regular and the exit of former co-lead George Eads.

It’s been 11 long years since the fastest hands in the east crossed paths with the loudest mouth in the west, but it seems Rush Hour mainstay Chris Tucker (Detective James Carter) is still pushing for a fourth movie with Jackie Chan.
Neither Tucker nor Chan were actively involved in the Rush Hour TV series, so it’s small wonder why fans are gleefully anticipating their next big-screen appearance. That, and the fact that CBS pulled the plug on its ho-hum Rush Hour spinoff after just one season, proving that, when it comes to loud-mouth cops and kick-ass special agents, there’s really no one better than Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan – no disrespect to Justin Hires (Carter) and Jon Foo (Lee), of course. And don’t get me started on their near-effortless chemistry.
So when the Winging It podcast (h/t ComicBook.com) put the question to Chris Tucker,...

With Season 3 of MacGyver currently airing in the UK on Sky One, James Kleinmann caught up with its star Lucas Till for HeyUGuys in New York to talk about the inevitable comparisons with the original show, getting comfortable with the iconic role and Mac’s limitless inventiveness.
Lucas Till on the set of ‘MacGyver’.
Do you get a lot of older people telling you that they used to watch the original MacGyver?
Lucas Till: “You know it’s funny you say that. I’m not good at checking social media and seeing negative comments. There’ll be a hundred great ones and one negative one and I’ll be like [mimes angrily typing] ‘no, not really dude, that’s no how it works!’ There was some guy who said, ‘I always compare it to the old show,’ it was actually mostly complimentary, but he said ‘I don’t remember the old MacGyver ever...

CBS is developing a drama series based on the DC Comics property “Secret Six,” Variety has learned.
The project, which has received a pilot production commitment at the network, follows six morally ambiguous strangers, each with their own unique specialties and secret pasts. They are brought together by an enigmatic figure who blackmails them into working as a team to expose the corruption of the corporate and political elite.
Various DC Comics characters have been members of the Secret Six over the years, including Bane, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor, the Mad Hatter, and the Penguin. There is no word yet, however, on which characters would appear in the series.
Rick Muirragui will write and executive produce, with Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold executive producing via Doozer Productions. Warner Bros. Television, where Doozer is under an overall deal, will produce.
