The first night of battle rounds on The Voice exposed one thing about the Season 6 coaches. They are quickly looking to be strategic and showed it with their steals.
Blake Shelton went after an old-school soul singer with a trademark high kick, Biff Gore, a father of six, who lost his battle to soulful T.J. Wilkins on Team Usher.
Shakira picked up a Joe Cocker-esque blues man, Patrick Thomson, who fell in a tight contest against Kat Perkins from Team Adam.
And after Usher landed himself a baby-faced metal rocker in Stevie Jo, Adam Levine stole heartthrob Jake Barker.

For the first night of battle rounds Monday on "The Voice," half of the eliminated artists were brought back from the dead. The coaches/judges shocked the crowd by redeeming three of the six doomed contestants with steals. The first battle round offered up by Usher pitted T.J. Wilkins against Biff Gore with the song "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." The coach selected Wilkins to move on to the next round, and then rival coach Blake Shelton stepped in to steal Gore away. -Break- The second matchup from Team Blake saw a victory by Jake Worthington over Lexi Luca with the tune "It Goes Like This." Nobody stepped in to save Luca. Round three was a face-off between Shakira contenders Dani Moz and DeShawn Washington with "My Kind of Love." Washington was eliminated and not saved. Adam Levine was the last of the coaches to provide a matchup. Kat...

On Monday (March 17), Season 6 of "The Voice" left the blind auditions behind and moved into the battle rounds, with coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Usher and Shakira -- alongside mentors Aloe Blacc, The Band Perry, Jill Scott and Miranda Lambert, respectively -- pairing up two of their team's artists for the next hurdle: Two artists enter the stage, one artist leaves. Unless, of course, the infamous steal comes into play. So who advanced, who went home and who was lucky enough to be stolen? Let's get to it.
First Battle: Biff Gore. vs T.J. Wilkins (Team Usher)
Song: "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" (The Temptations)
Usher's paired these two up on a classic R&B record, seemingly looking to slim his team down to just one powerful soul dude. During rehearsals, Usher went back to his Season 4 coaching tactics, pushing the two artists into uncomfortable areas by demanding...

Three-time winner Blake Shelton struggled a bit for the right artists in the first week of blind auditions on The Voice, but he closed out Monday night's show by stealing a major talent away from nemesis Adam Levine.
After the Maroon 5 front man scored the night's country rock talent, Patrick Thompson, who seemed perfect for a country music coach, Shelton and shocked all three of his fellow judges by earning a dazzling R&B singer that everyone wanted on their team.

The Voice blind auditions continued, with showstopper Sisaundra Lewis getting the coveted four-chair turn around and 'The Brothers Walker,' an identical twin duo, making it on Team Usher.
The Voice blind auditions part 3 kicked off with a four-chair turn around for Ryan Whyte Maloney, 33. A rocker currently trying to make it in Las Vegas, Maloney got Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Shakira to turn around almost right away with his rendition of Journey’s “Lights.” Usher followed towards the end of the song, but it didn’t matter. In the end, Maloney went with Blake because he said, that’s what his son would tell him to do.
Next up was the sweet family guy, Deshawn Washington, 23, who left college after one semester to help take care of his family. Deshawn brought some fun and light to The Voice stage with “Twistin’ the Night Away” by Sam Cooke. Surprisingly,...

It's week two of Season 6 of "The Voice" and the blind auditions continue along. Those teams aren't going to fill themselves, after all. So who did coaches Shakira, Usher, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton turn around for on Monday (March 3)? Not too many, it felt like. Without further ado, let's get to it.
First up is Ryan Whyte Maloney, a trash collector and father of two from Las Vegas whose ex-wife took his kids and moved them to Florida, which is one of the sadder stories I've heard in a while. He takes the stage with Journey's "Lights" and he sounds really great. He gets a four-chair turn, easily.
"We're a match made in Heaven and I think we should be together," Shakira tells him. Ryan's response: "I'm gonna keep that in my memory forever." In the end, though, he makes his choice with his kids in mind: "I have...
