I had been asking my Mother to get me an agent for Christmas every year since I was five. I never wavered and at 17 she finally said, 'If you want to be an actor, you can do it yourself. I'm not helping you. Go find an agent yourself.' So, I opened up the Manhattan yellow pages and got to work. That's how I got my first manager. I had no fear: I knew what I wanted and didn't take no for an answer. It was a great lesson in going after what you want.
