There's nothing more beautiful than a bride on her wedding day ... but that might not be the case when the bride is punk legend Fat Mike. The lead singer of Nofx and his now wife, Soma Snakeoil, eloped during a secret Vegas wedding on New Year's Eve ... TMZ has learned. The unconventional couple decided to exchange vows as the opposite genders when they planned the wedding -- which we're told was only a week before the ceremony.

Get ready to take off your pants and jacket: There's a new Blink-182 album coming in 2016. In the comments of a recent Instagram photo, drummer Travis Barker confirmed to a fan that 2016 will bring a new album from the band. When the album debuts, Barker and bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus will be onboard, but it's not likely that guitarist Tom DeLonge will join them. DeLonge has previously stated that he didn't quit the band, while Hoppus and Barker have insinuated that they're inching toward a "friendly divorce" and that DeLonge's involvement is purely legal. Having recently replaced DeLonge for live shows, Alkaline Trio guitarist Matt Skiba has stated that he's discussed joining the band for their next album. You know how the saying goes: The rock show must go on.

Has Tom DeLonge officially left Blink-182? It depends who you ask. On Monday, two-thirds of Blink-182 - bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker - released a statement noting that guitarist/vocalist and founding member Tom DeLonge had "indefinitely" left the band. DeLonge, 39, contradicted the statement on Instagram, writing that he "never quit the band." "Are we dysfunctional?" he added, "Yes. But, Christ…" To all the fans, I never quit the band. I actually was on a phone call about a blink 182 event for New York City at the time all these weird press releases started coming in... Apparently...

Tom DeLonge may be singing "I Miss You" to his seemingly former Blink-182 bandmates. The '90s rock group has been undergone some bizarre drama this week after DeLonge and the other two members, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, released conflicting statements about the band's current lineup. It all began on Monday, Jan. 26, when drummer Barker, 39, and bass player Hoppus, 42, announced they would be playing an upcoming music festival with Alkaline Trio rocker Matt Skiba on the guitar, instead of DeLonge, 39. As rumors of [...]...

There seems to be some confusion as to whether or not Tom DeLonge is still a member of the pop-punk group Blink-182.
According to a Rolling Stone report, DeLonge's bandmates, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, released a statement declaring that the guitarist and co-vocalist had quit the group.
However, the only person who seemed to think that DeLonge wasn't leaving Blink-182 was DeLonge himself, who gave a statement to Entertainment Weekly denying the news entirely.

"I never quit the band," DeLonge told Rolling Stone. "I was on the phone discussing a possible Blink 182 event in New York City when I heard the 'news.'"
The only thing that was true about the rumors of him not appearing with the band was that his availability to play shows with Hoppus and Barker would be limited in the near future.

I don’t think these festival twins need much of an introduction – aside from my using their names in the title of this feature already – so here they are, very almost upon us. In fact, so almost upon us that by the time this feature goes up I’ll likely be on my 6 to 7 hour bus journey to Leeds, to meet friends, crash, and then head earlybird to Leeds festival on Wednesday. It’s Tuesday today, I should have written this earlier, but it’s been… it’s been a weekend.
Anyway, to the point, from time to time I occasionally like to introduce you lovely people to new music with my Things You Should Be Listening To features, and even more occasionally I might dedicate one of those to the theme of a festival. I don’t want to write this review.
This isn’t some general statement or some protest against reviewing this release. No, this is just me being a miserable prick on a Sunday afternoon. Feel free to blame it on the lack of alcohol to hand, next to no sleep, a hangover or woe just simply being me. Whatever the reason, I don’t want to be writing this right now.
Thankfully though, that feeling is being alleviated by the very subject matter of this review. Said subject matter being the (almost entirely) acoustic How To Throw A Successful Party by Mixtapes. For those not familiar with them, Mixtapes are a Cincinnati based pop-punk four piece who have been doing the rounds a wee while and offer up duelling male/female vocals.
Now, you may say pop-punk is dead but it’s more alive than you might think.

Let Me In have been nice enough to ask us to let them in, so we have.
And a nice enough visit it was. With The Bag we have Italian pop punkers’ debut album, having previously self-released and self-produced EPs (The Daydream Ep in 2006 and Liesbook in2009). The album following in the footsteps of the EPs is another done-it-themselves release, entirely off their own backs; no record deal, no distribution, no booking. Which is commendable, and possibly the way forward in certain respects these days, though of course the big record labels will always have a certain all conquering quality, no matter how clueless they may be these days.
The album itself is available entirely from http://letmeinthebag.tumblr.com/ which shows that these Italians are just happy enough to be getting their music out there and playing it, which is an admirable quality in itself and shows some passion on their part.

Music and Muppets go hand in hand and if one song from Kermit can reduce grown men to tears then as the new Muppet movie nears our cinemas it’s time for some of the popular tracks from the Muppets’ previous movies and episodes to get the cover treatment with The Green Album.
There are some old favourites among the new tracks with Ok Go’s rendition of the Muppet Theme getting the whole shebang off to an unconventional start, proving a divisive version of the classic tune. Alkaline Trio’s Movin’ Right Along is a jaunty punk cover of the Fozzie/Kermit duet from The Muppet Movie and it demands a replay or two and will end up in your head but leave it to The Fray to cover the infamous Mahna-Mahna which is likely clamped to your subconscious already. To promote the upcoming new Muppet movie, there's a new record called The Green Album featuring alt recording artists like Ok Go, Weezer, Matthew Bird and Alkaline Trio doing classic songs from The Muppet Show. The first track to spin off of the album is the "Muppet Show Theme Song" as performed by the Ok Go guys.
I don't know if I'm really that into this kind of version of the show's tune, but it shows that Disney is courting the Gen Y audience in a big way to get them to go see The Muppets when it comes out this November. We have nothing but praise for Disney's re-launch of the Muppets franchise with the release of Nov. 23's "The Muppets" starring Jason Segel, Amy Adams and -- yes -- The Muppets. Adding to our nostalgic high, a new album of Muppet covers launched on Tuesday (Aug. 23).
"The Green Album" features songs from Weezer, The Fray, My Morning Jacket, Alkaline Trio and Ok Go, who put their own awesome spin on the "Muppet Show" theme song.
Watch as the band -- joined by Kermit, Dr. Teeth, the Swedish chef, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, Janice and a slew of Muppet faves -- update the classic. Bonus: The album is kid-friendly, parent-friendly and hipster-approved (at least the one we asked).

In what could possibly be the biggest collection of adorable quirkiness since "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," your favorite Internet meme-ready band, Ok Go has covered "The Muppet Show Theme," and now you can watch the song's all-new music video.
Recorded as part of the "Muppets: The Green Album," (not to be confused with the similarly titled and similarly quirky self-titled Weezer disc), the track sees the alt-rock band take on the song used to open every episode of "The Muppet Show," with some help from the Muppets themselves. Other tracks on the album include covers by Weezer, Paramore's Hayley Williams, The Fray, Alkaline Trio, My Morning Jacket and more.
The video is kind of everything you would expect from an Ok Go/Muppets team-up, including references to the band's prior viral videos, throwbacks to "The Muppet Show" itself and even some schticky false endings.

When a friend of ours originally posted the tracklist for "Muppets: The Green Album" on Facebook, it was with the note "Hipsters ruin everything." Ok, actually, it was "Hipsters [bleeping] ruin everything," but you get the idea.
So we were all ready to get up in arms about it too, but then we saw the words "'Bein' Green' performed by Andrew Bird." And we were completely won over. Sublime.
And since "Rainbow Connection" has long been our choice if aliens came down and demanded we sing one song on national television or they would destroy the world, the Weezer rendition (with an assist from Paramore's Hayley Williams) got a pass where it otherwise might not have.
Not to say that they're all our ideal matches. We could live without ever hearing Ok Go's take on the "Muppet Show Theme" again but no one can ruin "Mahna Mahna," and that includes The Fray.

With Jason Segel's new Muppet movie landing in November, the lovable puppet creations of Jim Henson are singing and dancing their way back into public consciousness. If you really want to become a trendsetter in this day and age, there's one subsection of society that must be appeased: hipsters.
The fastest way to a hipster's heart is through music, which is why all the children of the '70s and '80s will absolutely love "Muppets: The Green Album," a new compilation of some of Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, and the rest of the gang's signature anthems all done up nice and new by indie rock all-stars.
Add Muppets together with gettin' stuff for free and you're in hipster paradise, which is why it's extra-awesome that the fine folks at NPR have put up the entire album to listen to on their website, gratis.

I generally stay clear of “tribute” albums or compilations where your new favorite bands are assembled like some kind of snotty superhero team. This is because the implied mission of these records is to teach us morons how cool people like Buddy Holly were. (See: Rave On. Actually, don't.) And besides, for those of us who already enjoy the subjects being covered, you only want to put the originals on when these little smug-fests are over. I get it. You like Leonard Cohen. So do we.

There are thousands if not millions of reasons to absolutely love The Muppets, but one of the first that comes to mind is the music. Whether its because of the fun voices, the beautiful melodies, wonderful lyrics, or the intense nostalgia, songs like "Rainbow Connection" and "It's Not Easy Being Green" all own a large part of our collective souls. The new Muppet movie, due out on November 23, promises to deliver a whole new bunch of songs for audiences to bob their heads to and sing along with, but until then some of the biggest artists in the world have gathered together to create a series of covers called "The Green Album" and now you can listen to it for free online. Hosted by NPR, the music stream has artists like Ok-go, Weezer, My Morning Jacket, The Fray, Amy Lee and Alkaline Trio, performing all of your favorites. I suspect...

Before The Muppets comes out on November 23rd, how would you like to listen to some covers of classic muppet songs? On August 23rd, Disney is releasing Muppets: The Green Album which will feature covers from bands/artists like Weezer featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore, My Morning Jacket, Ok Go, Alkaline Trio, The Fray, and several others. While I'd rather hear my favorite felt friends sing these tunes, some of the covers aren't too bad. Rachael Yamagata's version of "I'm Going to...

Alkaline Trio have announced a UK tour to coincide with their 15th anniversary. The ten-date celebration will take place in November. It will also support their eighth studio album Damnesia, which was released last month. The tour will begin at Exeter's Lemon Grove on November 6 and finish at Edinburgh's Picturehouse on November 17. Alkaline Trio said of Damnesia's sound: "We tried to make an acoustic record that was fun to listen to as well as dynamic. "It was a lot of fun to re-visit some of the older numbers now that we are a better band than we were when we recorded them. We really got to play with them which (more)...

We’re all excited for Jason’s Segel’s film The Muppets, which hopes to revitalize the nostalgic franchise, and some notable musicians seem amped up as well. Weezer, My Morning Jacket and Paramore’s Hayley Williams are a few of the contributors who will all appear on The Green Album, which is quite the appropriate title.

Hayley Williams has the honor of having Weezer as a backing band and the duty of performing Kermit’s most famous piece, “Rainbow Connection.” Amy Lee of Evanescence will also appear, supplying a cover of “Halfway Down the Stairs,” while goth-poppers Alkaline Trio have recreated “Moving Right Along.” My Morning Jacket, who are such big Muppet fans they nearly toured together (seriously,...

It seems that Disney is finally catching on to the idea that commercial success can hinge on the older demographics.
It started with Almost Alice, which featured songs from the likes of Fall Out Boy, Owl City, All Time Low and more. The album was released alongside of their Alice In Wonderland reboot and not only did it generate quite a bit of fervor over the movie itself, but it also managed to reach the #1 spot on the Billboard Rock and Alternative charts.
Disney is apparently hoping to duplicate last years success story with the release of Muppets: The Green Album. The album, which will be released 3 months prior to the The Muppets, will include a host of Muppets songs as interpreted by various mainstream and indie artists. Whereas Almost Alice seemed to be targeting the teen demographic, The Green Album‘s roster implies that this time they are instead targeting the 20-somethings.

Recently we’ve been posting the Track of the Day, showcasing some of our favourite music. If you’ve been keeping up, you now know we don’t necessarily listen to mainstream fare. The reason I bring this up is because now we have another reason to be excited for The Muppet movie. We know we can already expect some great musical numbers from Jason Segal and Flight of the Conchords star Bret McKenzie who is the music supervisor for the film. But what we didn’t know, was that a tribute album of covers would be released in honour of the film. The CD titled Muppets: The Green Album, will be arriving in stores by the end of the summer and it boasts some great choices including My Morning Jacket, Weezer, Paramore‘s Hayley Williams and Andrew Bird who gets to sing “Bein’ Green.”
The disc will hit stores August 23rd.

I Am Number Four
Opens: February 18th 2011
Cast: Alex Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant, Dianna Agron, Kevin Durand, Teresa Palmer
Director: D.J. Caruso
Summary: Nine infant aliens flee their home planet to hide out on Earth. The species that destroyed their planet however has followed them and sets out to hunt them down. As the infants grow into teenagers with special powers, three of them are killed. A fourth has fallen in love and now has something to stand up and fight for.
Analysis: In premise and look, this sounds like a big budget and more action-oriented reboot of late sci-fi teen drama "Roswell". Though based on a young adult novel series, it was another title in this category that was the impetus for this adaptation - Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series. Any novels with a focus on teen romance and an other worldly touch are presently being bought up right and...

HollywoodNews.com: Weezer has just announced that they have partnered with Cinder Block, the world’s leading independent music merchandiser, to take care of their worldwide merchandising needs. Weezer kicks off its “Memories” tour this month in Los Angeles in support of its latest release, Hurley. In addition to servicing its touring business, Cinder Block will provide the band with its web store, retail distribution and licensing solutions. Weezer’s signing brings the band’s merchandising business back to Cinder Block, where it worked for the better part of the 2000s.
2010 has been a banner year for Cinder Block. In addition to re-signing Weezer, the company has inked deals with several other top tier and emerging acts such as The National, Phoenix, Coheed and Cambria, and Alkaline Trio. Cinder Block is also the official merchandise home for artists and tours like Kid Rock, The Pixies, Flogging Molly, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Vans Warped Tour.

I don’t want to say that if you’re unfamiliar with Alkaline Trio, or Every Time I Die that you’re an asshole, but hey—sometimes the shoe just fits. All kidding aside, both are amazing bands filled with amazing people and both ar e near and dear to The Dillinger Escape Plan family. Collectively, we slaughtered Warped Tour fans on a daily basis this summer, leaving our nights free to catch up on some cinematic schooling. We would trade movies like junkies trade needles, always eager to get our nightly fix.

Since its inception, Wake-Up Video has tried hard to deliver interesting bits of music history and insightful looks at the worlds of sports, politics, war and science. But today is different, not because it's an insignificant day (today marks the anniversary of Sandy Koufax's perfect game, commemorates Congress officially re-naming this country "The United States of America" and, in the Jewish faith, kicks off the new year), but simply because I woke up with Alkaline Trio's "We've Had Enough" stuck in my head, and I figured this was the best outlet to deal with said song.
Alkaline Trio have been around in come capacity since 1996. They developed a devoted following on the back of a series of excellent EPs and a pair of savage full-lengths (1998's Goddamnit and 2000's Maybe I'll Catch Fire). They started picking up mainstream success with 2001's From Here to Infirmary, which contained the sorta-hit "Stupid Kid.

Welcome to a Friday edition of The Casting Couch where we find out about all the casting news in tinsel town. Apparently, Ari Gold is setting himself in less than Ari Gold fashion with a small indie project. Sandra Vergara, the real-life sister of the hot Spanish chick on modern family is lining up a role in Fright night while another indie project gets two stars attached. Lastly, Time Allen apparently is contractually obligated for a Toy Story 4 if that ever happens.

Thomas Jane and Jeremy Piven have been cast in new thriller being developed called I Melt With You. This film will have an ensemble cast, and will be directed by Mark Pellington a music video director that directed the film Henry Poole is Here.
The story written by Glenn Porter follows the interconnecting lives of four men. There really isn't much else revealed on the story other than what the director of the film had to say,
I am 48 and found a dearth of films that speak to my life experience. Where is my generation's version of Cassavetes' Husbands? It is hard to get anything idiosyncratic made for a budget. I have been shooting music videos on small cameras at low cost and wanted to apply it to a film. This is about four guys and deals with mortality, aging and friendship. It is very dark and very low budget.

While I went in hopeful, I ended up hating Mark Pellington's last film, Henry Poole is Here. Hated it enough that hearing that the screenwriter, Albert Torres, had been hired to rewrite the live-action Akira adaptation all but killed my scant interest in that project. But I've heard very good things about Pellington's work on U2 3D (maybe not a surprise, given his music video background) and thought there was potential on display in earlier features like Arlington Road and The Mothman Prophecies. I'd like to see Pellington realize that potential, and wonder if I Melt With You, an 'ensemble thriller' that may now count Thomas Jane and Jeremy Piven among the cast, might be the ticket. Deadline reports the casting, saying the film will get underway in August, based on a Glenn Porter script that is based on a story by Porter and Pellington. We don't have a...

Director Mark Pellington is getting back to fictional films after a side trip into big-scale concert films with U2 3D. He’s in the middle of setting up the thriller I Melt With You, and according to Deadline, he’s hired Thomas Jane and Jeremy Piven to star.Glenn Porter wrote the script, based on an idea he figured out with Pellington, which follows the interconnected lives of four men. There aren’t many more details than that, though from the sound of it, it’ll lean heavily towards the dramatic and thoughtful rather than car chases and explosions.According to the director, it’s exactly the film he wants to be making right now, but hasn’t been able to because of Hollywood’s reticence to tackle darker, mature material. "I am 48 and found a dearth of films that speak to my life experience," Pellington said in a statement.
