The spree killer case is going to be the top priority for all of our favorite detectives in Will Trent‘s Season 2 finale episode, “Do You See the Vision”? And in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek, it’s clear they’ll be taking extraordinary (and unusual) measures to try and solve the case. In this first look at Tuesday’s episode, Will Trent (Ramón Rodríguez), Faith Mitchell (Iantha Richardson), Michael Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin), and Amanda Wagner (Sonja Sohn) put their heads together to review the newest evidence in a room littered with takeout containers. (They’re on some kind of odd cleaning strike until they break the case for … reasons.) Yet another dead body has been discovered, and the circumstances match the rash of other victims that have popped up around town. “Blake Turner was not a registered sex offender, but apparently, he was your standard nasty a** creep,...

Things get more tense as the second season of ABC’s procedural police drama show Will Trent is coming to its end this week, and even the show’s actors can’t be quite sure about the fans’ reaction to the finale.
With all the recent revelations coming from the series’ cast about the season 2 ending, it seems like viewers should get prepared for yet another portion of mixed feelings that they have to keep right until the next season is dropped in 2025.
Ahead of the season’s final episode, Erika Christensen, who in the show portrays Will Trent’s colleague Angie Polaski, revealed that the ending is far from something that fans may expect it to be.

When Will Trent leading man Ramón Rodríguez visited TVLine’s New York City offices late last month, he warned that Season 2 would end on “a bit” of a cliffhanger: “There are some things that [Will] gains, which is great, and there are some things that he loses, which is not great.”
Suffice it to say, our curiosity was piqued when we caught up with his costars at ABC’s Upfront earlier this week. We asked each of them how viewers would feel when they reach the climax of Tuesday’s finale — aka the last new episode until 2025 — and with each passing answer,...

Will Trent’s season 2 is coming to its end as it’s approaching the final episode’s release date, and some recent news regarding the finale’s plot twists and the upcoming third season isn’t quite a mix of things that fans would like to have after all.
The show’s network ABC has recently unveiled its schedule for the 2024-2025 season, and now it seems like fans will have to be patient enough to wait until season 3 is dropped in early 2025.
Though such a turn of events is quite normal right now given that the majority of modern shows have at least around a year of break in between the seasons, Will Trent’s case is a bit more complicated after its actor’s recent revelations about the second season’s ending.

Prepare to have some potentially mixed feelings about the upcoming Season 2 finale of Will Trent, titled, “Do You See the Vision?” At Tuesday’s Disney Upfronts presentation, TV Insider caught up with series star Erika Christensen on the red carpet to find out what might be ahead in the episode, and it sounds like we’re all in for some mixed emotions. “I honestly think it’s going to be very polarizing. I think some people are actually going to love it and feel vindicated and feel very happy about it. But I think a lot of people are going to be very upset,” Christensen warned. The official description for the episode, which airs next Tuesday, May 21 at 8/7c on ABC, is: “Will [Ramón Rodríguez], Faith, and Angie [Iantha Richardson] find themselves embroiled in a series of cases where a similar marker links the murders of several sex offenders. When a reliable performer like The Rookie, which has always been on the fall schedule if not delayed by a pandemic or strike, is suddenly not in a network’s starting lineup for the season, fans understandably would be worried.
Magnifying their concerns is the fact that The Rookie is headed into its seventh season, which is when a lot of broadcast series are canceled these days, including two ABC dramas, Station 19 and The Good Doctor, this year.
Meanwhile, Will Trent, which launched in midseason two years ago, had its first chance to get on the ABC fall schedule but didn’t get it.
Keeping the two dramas on the bench does not signal a lack of confidence in them.
“The opposite,” Disney TV Group President Craig Erwich told Deadline in an interview tied to the Disney upfront presentation.

There have been a lot of tough cancelations this month for the 2024-25 television seasons. Networks canceled beloved shows with big ratings, including shockers like Blue Bloods. Other shows were canceled with smaller viewer numbers, but in what were still favorites.
One of the shows that ABC has canceled falls into the latter category. Some fans argue it is causing an even bigger lack of diversity in an already generic TV schedule.
ABC Cancels Popular Latino-Led Sitcom
In a disappointing move, ABC canceled one of its most popular sitcoms. The network has announced that they canceled Not Dead Yet after two seasons on the air. This is an interesting move since the sitcom was the most-watched comedy on ABC in four years. However, the numbers dropped in Season 2 and ABC pulled the plug.

After two seasons, ABC has canceled the Gina Rodriguez-led and executive-produced comedy series Not Dead Yet.
Written by Casey Johnson and David Windsor, Not Dead Yet centers on newly single and feeling-old Nell Serrano (Rodriguez), a self-described disaster who works to restart the life and career she left behind 10 years ago. A once-successful journalist, Nell put her career on hold to help her fiancé get his restaurant off the ground. Following their breakup, she takes the only job she can get – writing obituaries – which at first seems like a step backward but ultimately might be exactly what she needs to move forward.
Hannah Simone, Lauren Ash, Rick Glassman, Joshua Banday, Angela E. Gibbs, Jesse Garcia and Brad Garrett also star.

When Will Trent debuted last year, it immediately secured a Tuesday primetime slot on ABC for years to come, earning solid ratings and an 89% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. And now, a year later, the second season is on our screens, garnering even more attention (and viewership), and fans are calling it the best police procedural in a long time.
Adapting book stories is a tricky task, and winning the hearts of Og fans is even trickier, so even before Season 1 was released, some social media users were concerned about how faithful the show would be to the source material. Those concerns proved unfounded, as the writers really did their best to stay true to the original story and other book details.
However, any live-action adaptation must take creative liberties to adapt to the particular media format. And so ABC's Will Trent is not without its alterations. So let's...

When a show doesn’t come as something original being based on some kind of book, it still doesn’t necessarily need to stick to the primary source, and modern TV has been a constant proof of it. ABC is one of the most recent examples of this with its hit show Will Trent the plot for which originally comes from Karin Slaughter’s book series.
While the show completely changed some major aspects of the storyline, it also brutally ignored one significant character from the novel that never made an appearance in the TV version, yet this problem may be solved quite soon.
Will Trent: Book vs. Show Differences
When turning the book plot into a long-standing show, the creators had quite a lot of things totally transformed, and someone doesn’t have to go far in this case if they are familiar with the original novel. It all...

In recent episodes, Will has been repeatedly visited by an apparition of his younger self, reminding him of a time when he faced the unthinkable: the murder of his foster mother by his foster father, right in front of himself and their other wards. Only, there are several details about the incident that he has had trouble remembering, and he’s decided that doing a little of his signature style of detective work on his own mind might just be the key to making his teen self stop showing up in random places. Will Trent, ABC's procedural drama, is so popular that the network has renewed it for a third season in April 2024. Not that ABC has a recent history of high-profile cancellations like, say, CBS. However, considering that the popular Station 19 was not renewed not too long ago, the stakes are high for any project, which is why the news of the upcoming Season 3 is incredibly exciting for Will Trent fans.
For now, we still have three episodes to go before Season 2 comes to an end. And as the experience of the previous season shows, this is where the most intense events are about to unfold, so we should definitely stock up on popcorn. Especially if you're a follower of the Will/Angie ship!

It’s a bye week for some of your favorite ABC procedurals, and Will Trent is no exception. On Tuesday, April 23, instead of a new episode of the riveting detective show, the network will air a rerun in its usual 8/7c timeslot. At that time, fans can revisit March 26’s Season 2 Episode 4, “It’s Easier to Handcuff a Human Being,” which centers on Will (Ramón Rodríguez) and Faith’s (Iantha Richardson) investigation of the “Boo Hag,” an apparent supernatural suspect in a multiple homicide case involving camping teens. It’s the second consecutive week Will Trent has been on a break; last week, on April 16, ABC reaired March 5’s Season 2 Episode 3, “You Don’t Have to Understand,” which centered on the investigation of a suspicious pastor and an attempt to save a pregnant woman from a killer. Fans will finally get a new episode of Will Trent on Tuesday, April...

[Warning: This post contains Major spoilers for the latest episode of Will Trent, “We Are Family.”] The latest episode of Will Trent not only reunited the titular character (Ramón Rodríguez) with a long-lost member of his family — Uncle Antonio (John Ortiz) — but the case of the day also hit home for a lot of folks in the LGBTQ+ community. In the episode, titled “We Are Family,” Will Trent and his team investigate a homicide that has taken place just outside of a dance club for drag performers. The victim turns out to be a conservative judge who just so happens to be the mother of one of the performers, Gabe Ringgold aka “Defcon Vibe” (Garrett Richmond). While video surveillance shows she had a scuffle with an extremist protestor who’d been lurking outside the building for some time, and her son confesses to the crime, it turns out that her killer is someone unexpected. After the heaviness of the previous episode, Will Trent will return to heartwarming drama, levity, and humor in this upcoming installment.
The series excels at balancing both kinds of cases and character arcs, and spoilers for Will Trent Season 2 Episode 6 tease that Will will finally meet and connect with his long-lost uncle, Antonio Miranda.
Elsewhere in the episode, the Gbi and the Apd team up to solve a judge's murder, so they work together for two episodes in a row. From the spoiler photos, this case looks entertaining.
At the end of Will Trent Season 2 Episode 5, Will's Uncle Antonio reached out to him. Antonio Miranda is as curious about his nephew as Will is about him.
John Ortiz guest-stars as Antonio Miranda, who seems kind and charismatic and is eager to bond with Will.
While I'm anxious for Will to have a positive male role model, it feels like Lucy's brother got a total rewrite.

Since it premiered in January 2023, ABC's Will Trent has been a massive hit. The network just renewed the series for a third season, and the Gbi and Apd will return to solve more cases.
The renewal wasn't much of a surprise because Will Trent's ratings have risen to 4.8 million viewers and a .4 in the demo.
What makes Will Trent so intriguing to watch? Why is it different from other police procedurals? There are many reasons, but at its core are the characters.
Based on Karin Slaughter's best-selling novels, the hour-long procedural focuses on Special Agent Will Trent of the Gbi.
While no two series are the same, Will Trent is most similar to The Mentalist and Mobk, whose protagonists also see key details differently than most investigators. Adrian Monk also had a dark past, and digging into a character's past allows for more interesting storylines.

Will Trent isn’t going anywhere. ABC has decided to greenlight its engaging procedural for a third season, thanks to Season 2’s very solid ratings in its first few episodes. Per Deadline, the show recently enjoyed its highest-rated episode ever with its March 5 episode, Season 2’s “You Don’t Have to Understand.” The series received a similarly early renewal for its second season after its inaugural season was the top new drama in terms of viewers with almost 10 million. Will Trent is a police procedural with a unique twist: Its eponymous character (played by Ramon Rodriguez) has dyslexia and thus struggles to read things quickly. That hasn’t stopped him from being a most-valued member of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, though; in fact, he seems to have a unique gift of getting into the mindset of victims in order to solve the cases at hand, whether it’s a murder,...
