- Matt admitted on The Russell Brand Show that he had some unusual escapades on a farm as a child. In order to inform the chicks, for whom he was caring, about the horrors of mortality, he picked each one up in turn and showed them the weaker, dying chicks that didn't survive the hatching process. Out of curiosity, he also pushed a chicken into the sow enclosure. He was discovered when he naively asked the farmer what would happen if the chicken went into the sow pen.
- Matt has a large following on social media, with "Matt Morgan Appreciation Society" boasting over 3,000 members. This group was founded during the original BBC Radio 2 run of The Russell Brand Show (2006 - 2008) and celebrated its inaugural meet-up in London on June 4th 2016.
- Matt, as a child, was once terrified by a live crow that had nested in his wall. His parents dismissed his concerns, only for them to catch sight of the bird as they were putting him to bed one night. To this day, Matt has slight anxiety surrounding monsters in his walls.
- Matt began his professional and personal relationship with oddball comedian Russell Brand through working as an intern at MTV. Brand was a new presenter at the channel and Matt was soon introduced to him. The pair bonded when Brand revealed his pet exotic snails on an international flight.
- The early work of the Brand-Morgan partnership saw them conquer the quirky MTV slots of the late '90s and early 2000s. Through such low-budget series as Dancefloor Charts and RE:Brand, the two became firm friends, later working on a host of other TV series and stand-up shows.
