For his first "Dancing With the Stars" finals performance, Corbin Bleu and partner Karina Smirnoff did a quickstep to "Diga Diga Do" by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
We thought it was a lot of fun, but Corbin is held to a very high standard on this show (he's kind of a ringer), so the judges weren't terribly free-wheeling with the praise.
"I think you've calmed it down a little bit, I thought there was far more control ... an improvement," says Len. "Talk about racing around with great control. But you actually went out of sync," says Bruno. And Carrie Ann adds, "The truth is I didn't see an improvement."
The judges ended up giving him three 9s, which is still a terrific score. What did you think of Corbin's quickstep?...

Remember the '90s? Sure you do. The music was grungier. The Marky Marks were Markier. You had to choose between your phone and the Internet. And the ponytails were occasionally sideways.
Well, if you somehow missed the decade due to an interference in the time-space continuum — or you just happen to be really young — we've assembled 15 movie clips that best represent what life, or at least movies, were like during that glorious decade. A '90s time capsule, if you will. So sit back, relax and throw on your favorite starter jacket.

On Sunday night, Madonna will join an exclusive club that includes the likes of Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Diana Ross and, uh, Up With People when she performs at halftime of Super Bowl Xlvi in Indianapolis.
Yes, you'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger stage than the big game — last year's Super Bowl was watched by some 111 million Americans — which is why the producers of the halftime festivities always recruit the biggest stars to perform (except for 1999, when Big Bad Voodoo Daddy inexplicably found their way into the proceedings). And Madonna most certainly fits that bill, which is why, while we're not quite sure what she'll bring to the Super Bowl stage — aside from...

I’m not excited whatsoever for Madonna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Not because I dislike Madonna or think that she’ll do a bad job; on the contrary, I’m sure she’ll play the hits and bring out A-list special guests galore and make a giant entertaining spectacle and it’ll all be completely polished and well-done. The only problem is, there’s nothing memorable or transcendent about ‘good’ Super Bowl Halftime Shows. Prince and Bruce Springsteen each did about as well as a Super Bowl performer could possibly aim for, and both performances still boiled down to just 12 pretty good minutes from musicians whose fans have assuredly seen them do far better 2-3 hour concerts on other occasions. The biggest standout moment was still Springsteen sliding into the camera. The only time we remember a Super Bowl Halftime Show is when it is memorably bad. That is to say,...

This weekend is going to be a massive one for the worlds of music, television and sports. The Super Bowl is finally here, and the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers will be squaring off against one another to determine who is this year's NFL champion is only about the fifth-most important thing happening over the next few days. In addition to the game, there will be the headline-grabbing advertisements (including a number of movie trailer premieres and appearances by both Justin Bieber and Eminem), the new episode of "Glee" that will follow the big game (which features the much-talked-about "Thriller" sequence), the national anthem care of Christina Aguilera (which bodes well for the Steelers) and the fact that this could be the most-watched American television broadcast in history (besting last year's Super Bowl, which drew 106.5 million viewers).

Did "Toy Story 3" frighten you? Well, one notable director got the heebie-jeebies from it, and his identity may surprise you. In the meantime, director Lee Unkrich posted a shot of Woody as he might have looked in the film if circumstances had been different.
Everyone in "Eclipse" is probably very satisfied with things just the way they are in regards to their movie's performance. Ashley Greene in particular had to share how she feels with everyone. Burbank, Calif. (AP) — Jay Leno, who's soon to leave the "Tonight" show, became ill Thursday, and the taping of his show was canceled. According to reports, Leno checked himself into a hospital Thursday for an undisclosed illness.
The Thursday and Friday tapings of "The Tonight Show" have been canceled.
Ryan Reynolds, Jules Sylvester and swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy were scheduled to appear on the Thursday show, which was replaced with a repeat of the episode featuring Paul Giamatti, Emma Roberts and Prince.
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper was slated to appear Friday.
This is a rare cancellation for Leno, who will bow out as the host of "Tonight" on May 29.

I recently visited some friends abroad and in a flurry of pre-bar excitement, we shared crazy YouTube videos with each other. It was fun and we were both able to experience things we hadn't seen before. I showed them videos of Literal Interpretations of Music Videos, they showed me sick British Public Service Announcements. But they kept mentioning this thing called Lindy Hopping and when I finally asked what it meant, their faces dropped. They told me it was something that could not be described. It had to be experienced for yourself. On YouTube.
It sent me reeling back to that one year back in 1999 when Swing Dancing was suddenly super cool trend and bands like the Squirrel Nut Zippers and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy topped the pop music charts. In all honesty, I'll take "Go Daddy O" over Lil Wayne any day. I'm just hoping that this dance craze...

As Tom immediately informs us, this is the first ever results show featuring a dance-off. But first some award winning performers! This is my first Dancing With The Stars results show (as I noted in an earlier blog, I've never seen the show prior to this season), and I went into it questioning how they could stretch a dance off to a full hour of programming (let alone the hour "recap" episode before it starts). Now I have my answer: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Jewel, and various other poorly produced forms of filler.Once Big Bad Voodoo Daddy finishes their performance...

This will be the first elimination round on "Dancing with the Stars". The bottom two will have a face-off to determine who should go. So far, Steve Wozniak and Karina Smirnoff as well as Steve-o are in the bottom list of the judges score from the past two weeks performance, but audience vote will be accumulated to reveal who actually are the bottom two.
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy open the night with their performance, accompanied by the professional dancers doing a swing. Steve-o who had missed yesterday's dancing explains his latest condition, emphasizing that nothing was broken when he decided to do a flip at the last minute during the rehearsal.
The hosts are announcing who are safe for another round of dancing next week. In no particular order, they are Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska; Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas; Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough; and David Alan Grier and Kym Johnson.

It's not often that things make me happy. I am, however, downright jovial about this prospect.
In a report filed by E!, it appears that Amy Winehouse may not sing the theme song to the new James Bond movie, after all. Here are the reasons this makes me happy, or if you prefer, offers me a Quantum of Solace: Remember the swing craze of 1998? Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Cherry Poppin' Daddies? That's Amy Winehouse. Even if she straightens her shit out, which seems unlikely at best, she has a short shelf life as an artist. I don't care if you think she's talented; lots of talented singers fall off the face of the Earth. Or do you know where Fiona Apple is these days?
Winehouse is different, true, but she's also overhyped and people are tired of the act. Good album, I'll grant you that, but the...
