Marvel Studios has a knack for accidentally spoiling their own movies. Either by sending Tom Holland for interviews or by releasing merchandise of an upcoming film, Marvel Studios has oftentimes spilled their own secrets.
Well, the latter seems to be the case once again as the merchandise for Captain America: Brave New World has allegedly leaked. Confirmed what people feared was true, Rosa Salazar’s villainous appearance as Diamondback has most probably been confirmed!

Marvel Accidentally Spoils Its Own Movie (Again)!
Captain American: Brave New World, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan is probably one of the most awaited MCU films of all time. Iron Reign shows the complexities of being part of a crime family. The ‘family’ part of Roman Manchados’ business makes it even more complicated because he didn’t choose the family he was born into. It can be debated if Roman really wanted to be a part of this in the first place, but now that he was, he couldn’t run away from it. They say blood is thicker than water, and there have been numerous movies and shows out there that depict the importance of these familial bonds among criminals. His brother, Joaquin, had a crucial impact on his life. Even on his path to adulthood, Roman and Joaquin assumed specific roles. While Joaquin was the brains, Roman was the brawn of their operation. In Joaquin’s own words, Roman’s strength was worth three men, whereas Joaquin’s brain was worth three men. The future crime lord...

Did you know that there is a Child’s Play-inspired film from Mexico? If you didn’t, you can thank Vinegar Syndrome’s new label Degausser Video for making 1993’s Herencia Diabólica available for the masses to watch. Or at least for the Vs hardcore fanbase, Chucky completists and anyone else who needs something like this in their lives.
Director Alfredo Salazar, known for his writing connection to the 70s Santo film series, also serves as the writer here to bring us a film seemingly inspired from the Child’s Play franchise. While it has been recently labeled as the “Mexican Child’s Play” (there’s a special feature on the disc with that very title), the killer doll concept is where the comparison should start and end. Despite having some seeds planted by that franchise, Salazar delivers a story that blossoms into something unique.

The only jury trial over the senseless slaying of Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke is now set to begin June 25 in Los Angeles. A judge set the date for Corey Walker, the sole defendant charged as an adult in the 2020 murder, at a court hearing on Friday, Rolling Stone has confirmed.
Three other defendants, including the 15-year-old shooter, were charged as juveniles. The eldest of the juveniles admitted to voluntary manslaughter and home invasion at a hearing last April. The youngest defendant admitted in May that he pulled the trigger in...

In 2021, Alejandro “A. Chal” Salazar walked away from everything he thought he always wanted.
Up until then, the Peruvian-born singer-songwriter and producer had spent three years signed to Epic Records under Sony Music. He established his hazy, rap-meets-r&b sound on bilingual releases like 2016’s Welcome to Gazi, 2017’s On Gaz, and 2018’s Exotigaz, his first under Epic. Quickly, people got to know him as a forward-thinking, inventive new voice, leading to features with French Montana and Asap Na$T.

Alita: Battle Angel star Rosa Salazar has joined the cast of Shane Black’s next film, Play Dirty. She’ll appear alongside Mark Wahlberg and Lakeith Stansfield.
After years in development, Shane Black’s thriller Play Dirty appears to be gathering pace. It was only the other day that Lakeith Stansfield was announced as a co-star alongside Mark Wahlberg; it’s now reported that he’ll be joined by Rosa Salazar, whose previous roles include the zesty anime adaptation, Alita: Battle Angel.
Deadline, the outlet that broke the story, doesn’t disclose what role Salazar will be playing in Black’s thriller, which is based on the long-running – and influential – series of novels written by Donald E Westlake.
It’s previously been reported that Play Dirty will draw on several of those novels rather than one in particular, though judging by Deadline’s synopsis, it’ll take at least a...

Now that most schools are back in session, who’s up for a history lesson? Okay, we had one a few weeks ago with the, still in theatres, Oppenheimer. And though it’s really well done, to be honest, it’s kind of a “downer” what with all the “atomic bomb stuff”. This new flick also deals with science, but it concerns the exploration of space, much like the surprise “crowd-pleaser” of 2016, Hidden Figures. Like that film, it concerns one member, rather than the mathematics trio, of a minority that is usually not the focus of these docudramas. Oh, and rather than the swinging sixties this story is much more recent, capping off in 2009. It’s really the story of a dreamer, a man who dares to imagine leaving Earth to travel A Million Miles Away.
It is the late 1960s when we meet the Hernandez family, who are leaving lots of friends,...

Benjamin Percy and co. are really putting it all on the table with this story arc. This issue delivers across the board from cover to cover and we aren’t even into ‘Fall of X’ yet! Percy has a lot more Wolverine on the horizon, guiding this series and X-Force through the upcoming event and out the other side. He also has a Ghost Rider crossover coming up and the recently announced Predator/Wolverine mini-series. I’m here for it all and having enjoyed nearly all of his output so far I am not expecting any drop-off in quality. The last issue left us on an all-action cliffhanger and no time is wasted on throwing the reader into the thick of the action mere moments after last month’s final panel. There is a lot of cursing in this issue,...

Unfortunately I am having some trouble with this story, which is a shame because I really love the character. I think a big part that is working against it, especially from my own point of view is the retroactive angle to the story. Without repeating myself from last month, in a nutshell, a lack of consequences detracts from delivering a good story. There has been a spate of retroactive storytelling from Marvel in the last few years, some has worked and some hasn’t. I think a lot of it can come down to the popularity and back catalogue of any given character to decide the levels of success a retroactive story can have. Even though I said I love the character I have to admit my knowledge of her early comics are sketchy at best.

Released in 2005, Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 revolutionized the survival horror genre as we knew it. A masterful blend of intense action, gripping storytelling, and unforgettable characters came together to create a truly captivating experience. At the time, it wasn’t exactly what survival horror buffs wanted, but it was what the series needed. Six years after the last numbered Resident Evil game, this new, action-laden approach was just what the series needed to attract more mainstream players and the first-person shooter crowd, even if it de-emphasized scares for thrills.

When James Cameron set out to adapt Yukito Kishiro's acclaimed cyberpunk manga "Gunnm," also known as "Battle Angel Alita," he made the decision to shelve the project for 20-something years until technology caught up to his requirements for the film's world-building. This is a quintessentially James Cameron thing to do, given that he is the kind of director who knows how to be patient enough until he has the best tools to translate his ambitious artistic visions into reality. By the time Cameron had access to the right kind of technology for the long-gestating "Alita: Battle Angel," he found himself preoccupied with "Avatar," a project that demanded meticulous dedication (and ended up altering the trajectory of performance capture technology in filmmaking forever). As a result, Cameron handed over the reins to long-time friend Robert Rodriguez, while still being involved with the adaptation as a producer and supervising its creative direction.

Jacob Vargas, Lisette Olivera, and Jake Austin Walker in Disney+’s ‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ episode 10
The season one finale of Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History ties up all the treasure-hunting loose ends while dangling the possibility of where season two could go if the streaming service picks up the drama. Episode 10, “Treasure Protectors,” picks up the action right where episode nine ended, with Agent Hendricks (Armando Riesco) having just stabbed Agent Ross (Lyndon Smith) with a sword. We, the audience, now know he’s Salazar – the man we’ve heard about all season but whose identity has just been revealed.
When Billie (Catherine Zetta-Jones) questions Salazar about why he’s there, Rafael (Jacob Vargas) chimes in and reminds her that Salazar is the one who killed her brother. But, of course, Salazar claims Rafael is a liar.
After loading the boat, they set off to find the treasure.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for “Treasure Protectors,” the season finale of “National Treasure: Edge of History,” now streaming on Disney+.
In the first “National Treasure” movie, Nicolas Cage’s Ben Gates justifies stealing the Declaration of Independence by telling the authorities he is a treasure protector — but that was so 2004.
In the Disney+ spinoff series “National Treasure: Edge of History,” the latest threat to this country’s lost history is from treasure destroyers, specifically a group known as Cras Est Nostrum. This faction hunts down and destroys treasure to avoid the messy business of having to rewrite history.
Billie (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and her specific brand of brute force has been the group’s muscle this season in pursuing Montezuma’s Treasure, which she calls a “political powderkeg” if found. And in this week’s season finale, she deciphers the final clue by kidnapping Jess (Lisette Olivera) and her...

Hollywood’s most famous mountain lion will be remembered today at the Greek Theater in Griffith Park in a public and family friendly memorial put on by the “Save LA Cougars.” The event is free and open to the public, and will be filmed for a documentary.
The event will run from noon Pacific time until 2 Pm. Free tickets are gone, but a livestream of the memorial can be viewed here.
The “Save LA Cougars” group campaigned for a wildlife crossing over a Los Angeles-area freeway to permit safe passage between the mountains and other areas. The bridge broke ground in April.
P-22 was captured on Dec. 12 in a Los Feliz backyard. He had been hit by a car shortly before that, and an examination revealed a skull fracture, a skin condition, and liver and kidney diseases. The mountain lion had lived beyond a typical age for his kind, and...

"Undone" is impressive for many reasons, but its ability to combine wildly different genres might be the biggest. On the one hand, there's the stark depiction of listless 20-year-old Alma Winograd-Diaz (Rosa Salazar) and her family drama, which makes the show so emotionally affecting. On the other, there's the wild time and space-bending sci-fi adventure featuring the ghost of her late father, Jacob Winograd (Bob Odenkirk). In the show's first season, after a car accident gives Alma the ability to traverse space and time, she embarks on a multi-dimensional journey to try to solve the mystery of her father's death.
To help pull off such an ambitiously innovative project, "BoJack Horseman" alums Raphael Bob-Waksberg and Kate Purdy used rotoscoping — an animation style created by tracing over real footage. This same technique was used by Richard Linklater in his movies "Waking Life" and "A Scanner Darkly," and was chosen for "Undone" by Dutch animator Hisko Hulsing,...

Lisette Olivera, Zuri Reed, and Jordan Rodrigues in Disney+’s ‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ episode 8
With just two episodes left in season one of Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History, things are really heating up. Episode seven ended with Jess concluding she needs to break her father out of a prison in Mexico. Episode eight picks up with Jess’s dad, Rafael (Jacob Vargas), in for a shock when he sees Billie (Catherine Zeta-Jones) has come to visit him.
Billie accuses him of killing her brother and Rafael denies it, insisting it was Salazar who killed her brother. Billie demands the last relic or else she’s going after Jess. “You’re about to find out how it feels to lose the person you love more than anything else in the world,” warns Billie.
Oren (Antonio Cipriano) desperately tries to talk Jess (Lisette Olivera) out of breaking her father out of prison.

When it comes to charting out meticulous plans for a movie concept, James Cameron is always one step ahead of the game. Cameron is the kind of director who would rather wait for the right circumstances than jump in on an opportunity with unfavorable odds. This led to projects being shelved until the right kind of technology came along, as it was important for Cameron to actualize his vision exactly the way he intended. As a result, when Cameron decided to adapt the Japanese cyberpunk manga "Gunnm" (also known as "Alita: Battle Angel"), he had to wait for 20-odd years for the right kind of technology to evolve.

Credit “Wedding Season” for not taking the easy opening. It takes a lot of confidence to start up an eight-episode season with an “I object!” moment. It’s how the show introduces us to Stefan (Gavin Drea) one of 2022’s unluckiest characters, and not just because his gambit to break up the wedding of Katie (Rosa Salazar), the woman he loves, is dead on arrival.
His hopes at whisking Katie away for a fairy-tale ending aren’t the only thing that dies that day. At the reception, Katie’s intended Hugo (George Webster) and a number of his family members keel over on top of their chicken/steak/vegetarian option. At first, Hulu’s “Wedding Season” seems to be a charming enough take on a British “Four Weddings and a Funeral”-style romantic comedy, complete with a hopeless romantic boy, his boisterous friend group, and the enigmatic American girl he falls for the minute he meets her at — where else? — a wedding. But both Oliver Lyttelton’s take on the setup and the American at its center have more up their sleeves than a charming meet-cute. The second that initial layer’s peeled, “Wedding Season” (not to be confused with Netflix’s recent movie of the same name) is off and running in another direction entirely — a murder mystery with roots in the kind of deep corruption that would give Jason Bourne nightmares. Whether or not it all hangs together will be for the audience to decide, with all eight episodes out Sept. 8 on Hulu (but only seven made available...

The rom-com is a genre that leans into the restoration of order. No matter how messy things are when we start, by the end of a tiny 90 minutes, we can count on the boy getting the girl or the girl getting the boy or — as things get more progressive — the gender/gender identity/sexual orientation combination of your choosing, provided that we reach “happiness.” It’s a genre that’s satisfying, but the potential for dull inevitability has encouraged storytellers to subvert expectations, upping the stakes on the screwball antics and challenging our notions of what “happy” endings even look like.
The rise of more close-ended stories on the small screen has been particularly fertile ground for rom-com subversion, with results ranging from brilliant (Netflix’s The End of the F***ing World) to forgettable (Hulu’s Four Weddings and a Funeral) to ambitious...

One-hundred and ninety five Republicans have voted against a House bill codifying the right to contraceptives into federal law.
The Right to Contraception Act passed the Democrat-controlled House 228-195 on Thursday, and it now faces an uncertain future in the Senate. The bill affirms an individual’s right to access and use contraceptive methods, health care providers’ right to prescribe them, and allows for the Justice Department and individuals harmed by the refusal of contraceptives to seek legal recourse.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you haven’t watched “Brave,” the series finale of “Love, Victor,” now streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
Hulu’s “Love, Victor” came full circle in its series finale, ending where it began — atop Creekwood High’s Winter Carnival Ferris wheel.
In the closing moments of the third season, Victor (Michael Cimino) returned to the spot where, exactly one year earlier in the pilot, he took a ride with former girlfriend Mia (Rachel Hilson) to conceal his sexuality. Only this time, it was his ex-boyfriend Benji (George Sear) sitting beside Victor, professing their love for one another after they spent the season apart so Benji could address his alcoholism and Victor could get to know himself.
“Victor found out who he was this season, and realized that Benji was the right person for him,” Cimino told Variety.
Elsewhere in the finale, it was happy endings all around,...

When John Slattery is standing in front of a giant screen, “neXt” is a pretty engaging television show. So it’s no surprise the new Fox drama chooses that way to open its pilot episode, with Slattery’s tech billionaire Paul LeBlanc speaking to a gathered group about the impending perils of innovation and how we’re all basically doomed.
What follows is a TV thriller centered on the hunt for an algorithmic super-intelligence; a self-learning program that the series’ main characters believe is murdering people to protect its secrets. In the process, “neXt” is a serial killer story and a detective show and a prophet of catastrophe, delivered together in one-hour chunks.
LeBlanc’s alarm-sounding eventually weaves its way into the work of Shea Salazar (Fernanda Andrade), leader of an FBI cybercrime task force based out of Portland. Along with a main trio of fellow investigators and experts, Salazar...
