Evangeline and Bring It On: Cheer or Die director Karen Lam drew inspiration from Japanese films in general and an experimental silent film called Pages of Madness in particular when crafting her horror movie The Curse of Willow Song – and it seems to have turned out pretty well, as Fangoria reminds us that The Curse of Willow Song won the Best British Columbia Film award when it premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival way back in 2020. Now the film is finally making its way to DVD and digital, thanks to Uncork’d Entertainment, and a trailer can be seen in the embed above.
The DVD and digital release is scheduled for September 26th.

As Neon rides the awards-season wave with Bong Joon Ho’s cinematic masterpiece Parasite, it isn’t stopping with delivering genre titles that speak to the brand. This weekend, its will debut its chilling thriller The Lodge directed by Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz.
Written by Fiala, Franz and Sergio Casci, The Lodge follows a family that decides to spend the holidays in a snowy remote cabin. Already, this doesn’t sound like a good idea. The father (Richard Armitage) is forced to leave the family vaycay for work and his new girlfriend Grace (Riley Keough) stays behind to take care of his kids, Aidan (Jaeden Martell) and Mia (Lia McHugh). When a blizzard hits, they become trapped and, well, Grace’s dark past begins to terrify all of them.
The Lodge debuted last year at Sundance before going through the festival circuit and then making its premiere in Italy in January.

"I need to know why you sent that letter!" Saban Films has unveiled an official trailer for a strange, wacky little indie film titled Come To Daddy. It's not really horror, it's not really drama, it's one of these peculiar films that keeps going to weird places and you have no idea what is about to happen next. Come To Daddy stars Elijah Wood as a man in his thirties who receives a cryptic invitation to head to a remote cabin for a visit with his father after a lifetime of estrangement. Also starring Stephen McHattie, Martin Donovan, Michael Smiley, Madeleine Sami, and Simon Chin. This first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, but also played at Fantastic Fest, Sitges, Beyond Fest, Toronto After Dark, and tons of other genre fests. It definitely won't be for everyone, but there will be some who find the strangeness of this film to be pure bliss.
