The Days of the Dead horror convention invaded Indianapolis, Indiana this past weekend for three days of pure madness, mayhem, and a bloody great time! Celebrities, vendors, and all manner of monsters were unleashed upon the unsuspecting attendees at this weekend’s show.
The Dotd organizers, Adolfo Dorta, Ricardo Lara, and Bill Philputt deserve a round of applause for putting on one hell of a show this year. It was a well-organized and well executed experience from top to bottom, in the midst of a 106 degree heat wave happening outside.
Highlights of the show included an awesome lineup of celebrity guests featuring the inimitable John Waters, “The Pope of Trash”, the actor, writer, and director known for his shocking films such as Multiple Maniacs, Pink Flamingo’s, and Hairspray, performing his standup show “This Filthy World” and signing autographs. Other celebrities on hand posing for...

I love movies. I love watching them. I love reading about them. I love talking about them. I love learning about them. I’m the reason they put special features on DVDs, and I’m the jerk that always goes ‘shhhhhh…’ behind you in the theater. Yea, I’m that guy. The way some guys are with quarterbacks and baseball stats, I’m that way with film directors and movie trivia. I’m the idiot who will buy multiple versions of the same movie if they have different documentaries on them. I’m the genius who has four versions of Evil Dead and half a dozen HALLOWEENs.
And, yes, I’m the reason that someone went out and made More Brains! A Return Of The Living Dead, the documentary about the most fun zombie franchise ever put on film. I love my Romero, and I...

If you grew up on 80's horror films, like myself, then "The Return of the Living Dead" is a must. It's one of the scariest and funniest horror films of the decade. It allowed zombies to be seen in a completely new light outside of what George A. Romero had done with his living dead trilogy. So, talk about a wonderful Halloween treat in a brand new documentary, complete with cast & crew interviews, entitled "More Brains! A Return to the Living Dead" which details everything you always wanted to know about this beloved cult classic.

The 1985 Dan O’Bannon zombie-comedy Return of the Living Dead is getting a full-on documentary on the film from the Never Sleep Again team. Directed by Bill Philputt, More Brains! A Return to the Living Dead is currently in production and there’s little info to go on, except Scuz (Brian Peck) will narrate.
The horror world has seen its fare share of retrospectives as of late, some good, some boring. Are you excited to see one on this film? Until we get some more info or a trailer, the website just opened, although don’t expect much info either.

The horror world has seen a ton of retrospectives thus far, and there's another on the way. There's no doubt that when it comes to The Return of the Living Dead, there are lots of tales to tell, and so they shall be.
The official website for More Brains! A Return of the Living Dead Retrospective just opened its doors recently, and just like on the project itself there's very little information involved.
However, several of the folks behind it, including first-time director Bill Philputt as well as Thommy Hutson and Lito Velasco, are Never Sleep Again alumni so you know at the very least it will be done the right way. More info as it comes. Keep an eye on the website by clicking on the image below.

One of the most rewarding feelings in the world came for the makers of Never Sleep Again this past weekend when the entire crew gathered with many stars from the franchise to celebrate the mega-documentary's release. The signing took place at Dark Delicacies in Burbank, and as you can see by the footage below, it was not only one hell of an event ... It was one hell of a good time, too!
For the uninitiated, Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy officially began lensing on August 22, 2009, in and around Los Angeles. Starring and narrated by Heather Langenkamp, star of the 1984 classic A Nightmare on Elm Street...

"Never Sleep Again is going amazingly well," said Farrands. "It's funny, but this feels like everything is coming full circle. I did a Halloween movie when I was younger, then I spent a few years in the Friday the 13th universe. So now I am working with Nightmare on Elm Street, and it's definitely a dream come true."

Today this scribe had the opportunity to visit the set of the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street documentary, Never Sleep Again, for one of their bigger days - actor Mark Patton who portrayed Jesse in the second franchise installment was on hand to talk about his very own Elm Street days.
Patton, who moved on from Hollywood shortly after Freddy's Revenge, came up to Los Angeles from Mexico to talk with the team behind Never Sleep Again and was gracious enough to chat briefly with Dread Central before he got started.
Twenty-five years after Patton took on the role of Jesse, the actor now weighs in on why he thinks the Nightmare franchise still remains so popular.
Patton said, "I think Noes is so popular because the franchise taps into an idea that goes into the depths of people's dreams and it's very easy for people to project themselves into that situation.
