According to the horror genre, summer camps are teeming with killers and other unusual dangers. These seasonal getaways designed for adventure and fun quickly turn into fights for survival. And it’s not just in the movies where a young camper’s sleeping bag doubles as their body bag; books also present camps as hotbeds of death, murder and mystery. Carol Ellis’ 1993 young-adult novel Camp Fear joins the popular club of sleepaway terror when the characters find themselves menaced one summer. And as the title of this Point Horror entry suggests, the culprit is preying on people’s greatest fears.
Lousy food, surprise pests and unpleasant accommodations are the universal challenges of most fictional summer camps, but Silverlake has a problem most others don’t — a person, hellbent on revenge, is terrorizing the staff. Britney Spears' music - songs like "Hit Me Baby One More Time" and "Oops I Did it Again" are effective weapons when aimed at Somali Pirates who reportedly hate her music. The Mirror (UK) reports that Rachel Owens, 34, a merchant navy officer on huge super tankers off the east coast of Africa says music is a really effective way of deterring the pirates and their high-speed skiffs: “Her songs have been chosen by the security team accompanying our tankers because they thought the pirates would hate them most. These guys can’t stand Western culture or music, making Britney’s hits perfect.” Owens adds, “The speakers can be aimed solely at the pirates so as not to disturb the crew.

Gimme more? Well, if your a Somali pirate, it's more like gimme less. Apprarently, the music of Britney Spears has proven to be pretty effective at keeping Somali pirates away from Royal Navy ships off the east coast of Africa. Merchant navy officer Rachel Owens told Metro.co.uk, "Her songs were chosen by the security team because they thought the pirates would hate them most. These guys can't stand Western culture or music, making Britney's hits perfect." Owens explained that the songs, in particular "Oops! Hilary Duff was handed a lawsuit Tuesday, claiming the actress crashed her Range Rover into another car in 2010, causing serious injuries to the other driver. This is probably a big distraction from all of that new mommy bliss she’s been experiencing.
According to the court documents obtained by E! News, driver Rachel Owens alleges that the December 12, 2010 crash resulted in her getting "hurt and injured in her health, strength and activity, sustaining injury to her nervous system." With all of those health issues, why is Owens waiting until now to say something?
Owens also claims that the injuries sustained prevented her from completing her job requirements, causing her to miss work for a period of time. She does not specify her occupation, which is somewhat shady.
Hilary’s rep has yet to comment, but there's no doubt the lawsuit is taking the 24-year-old parent by surprise (it happened two years ago!

It seems that Hilary Duff is “Coming Clean”…about her potential involvement in a serious car accident back in 2010. Nailed the intro, ya’ll! Seriously though, according to TMZ the actress/singer was just served with a lawsuit regarding a crash that occurred on December 12, 2010, during which Duff allegedly “plowed into” a vehicle driven by one Ms. Rachel Owens. Owens now claims that the accident resulted in her experiencing “great mental, physical and nervous pain and suffering,” all of which “prevented from attending her usual occupation for a period of time in the future.” Getting slapped with charges almost two years after the fact? That’s “So Yesterday.” If you ask us, it sounds like someone was trying to “Play With Fire.” Haha! In all seriousness though, this whole thing sounds horrible for everyone involved.

Warning: a few minor plot spoilers ahead.
Running on Empty Dreams (2007) may be one of the most emotionally exhausting lesbian films to come along since Boys on the Side, though it lacks the permanence and star power of the 1995 classic.
Instead, Running — recently released on DVD — offers a distinct indie charm, a wonderful, fulfilling lesbian romance (which is based on true events) and about 12 minutes of superfluous running time.
Written and directed by Nitara Lee Osbourne, the film is clearly a labor of love, though the end product is undeniably uneven.
The movie begins with the beautiful, brooding Sydney (Kathleen Benner) traveling to Arizona with her ex-marine husband (Corey, played by Jose Rosete) and their adorable son, Matt.
Kathleen Benner and Jose Rosete
Sydney is ill with thyroid cancer and the family has very little money, so she daydreams her life away. She’s also an aspiring screenwriter — penning lesbian-oriented...
