Back in March, Florence Pugh announced that cameras were officially rolling on Thunderbolts by sharing a video from the set to her Instagram page.
The brief clip highlighted Pugh's updated outfit, a first look at Yelena Belova taking aim on one of the monitors, and the movie's official logo on the back of a chair, which appeared to reveal the addition of an asterisk to the title.
Marvel Studios later shared the video, confirming that the supervillain movie will now officially be known as Thunderbolts*.
What does this signify? There are several theories, the most popular of which speculates that Thunderbolts* is actually going to be a Dark Avengers movie. Kevin Feige did address the title change during CinemaCon last month, but said we'd have to wait until the film was in theaters to find out what it means.

Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now available on 4K Uhd and Blu-ray Steelbook, and IGN has shared a deleted scene from the first episode of the Disney+ series.
Titled "Flight Lesson," the sequence picks up after Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) gives his speech at a ceremony where Captain America's shield is being put on display at a museum. Wilson still has some reservations about taking up the mantle that was passed to him by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in Avengers: Endgame, and speaks to Col. James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) about it.
Wilson notes that his former teammate appears to be fully recovered from the accident which left him almost paralysed in Civil War, and Rhodey says he doesn't "need the hardware" any more thanks to a new procedure. Sam then apologizes for his part in what happened, and Rhodey assures his friend that there are no hard feelings.

We got a Disney+ series that showed Sam’s hesitance to pick up the mantle of Captain America and the history that comes with it. By the end of the series, he knew he was the only person who could take on the role of Captain America. Now, where do we go? Hulu’s acclaimed new limited series “We Were the Lucky Ones” is led by Logan Lerman. who give the best performance of his career. Adapted from Georgia Hunter‘s 2017 book of the same, the story follows the Kurcs, a Polish Jewish family torn apart by WWII. It’s a difficult watch but creator Erica Lipez has crafted a gripping, vital narrative with Lerman at the center of the show. Tobias Menzies has become one of our most reliably excellent actors of late. Classically trained, he had an extensive theatre career in his native England during the noughties and early 2010s before he rose to prominence with roles in “Game of Thrones” and “Outlander.”
Menzies’ profile then increased further thanks to his lauded portrayal of Prince Phillip in “The Crown” and his stock has again risen thanks to his role as another major historical figure in Apple TV’s “Manhunt.” The acclaimed limited series follows the death of President Abraham Lincoln (played by Hamish Linklater) and the subsequent 12-day manhunt for assassin John Wilkes Booth (Anthony Boyle).

With "Avengers: Endgame" behind us and Chris Evans having retired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe until further notice, we can all agree that "Captain America: The First Avenger" is the best Steve Rogers solo film, right? From its character work to its action sequences and a rousing score by the legendary Alan Silvestri, director Joe Johnston's WWII adventure is a top-tier MCU movie. While it may lack the visceral melees that the Russo Brothers brought to its sequels, "The First Avenger" delivers more than enough whiz-bang thrills and Brooklyn attitude to make up the difference (that and its politics are much less confused than those of "The Winter Soldier").
Johnston's superhero picture also boasts what is still one of the McU's most distinguished casts, pairing Evans with Hayley Atwell, Tommy Lee Jones, Sebastian Stan, Hugo Weaving, Stanley Tucci, Toby Jones, and Dominic Cooper. Even Natalie Dormer, David Bradley,...

When it comes to protecting his IPs, Kevin Feige is no less than a clucking mother hen, and Captain America might just be the biggest egg in the basket. After Chris Evans’ swan song moment in Avengers: Endgame, the IP became as invaluable as first-edition art – treasured enough to be left as is but popular enough to be replicated.

It has been incredible to watch Chris Evans’ ascent to fame. The actor, who is best known for playing Steve Rogers/Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has grown considerably since his debut in the highly regarded superhero franchise.

Sebastian Stan has proven, time and time again, that he knows how to immaculately deliver what he signs up for, irrespective of the character (or even person) that he has to play. His perfect portrayal of Bucky aka the Winter Soldier in the MCU is the true evidence of this claim, among others. That being said, his next film sees him effortlessly slip into a different avatar as well.

As most die-hard fans must already know, one of Stan’s next performances would see him embodying the former president of the United States, Donald Trump. Yet, even though his first look in character makes him look like a scarily accurate version of Trump, fans can’t help but point out that it is not as accurate as all of his previous masterpiece portrayals.

Director Ali Abbasi had Sebastian Stan undergo an ominous transformation for his forthcoming film The Apprentice, in which the actor will star a young Donald Trump. As proven by the first-look photos from the movie, set to premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, the process was a success — Stan’s Trump looks exactly like the kind of person who would be sued by the Department of Justice for violating the Fair Housing Act.

The Cannes Film Festival has just revealed (another) a dazzling lineup for its 77th edition.
Studio movies such as George Miller’s Furiosa and Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga mingle with new films from arthouse darlings such as Paolo Sorrentino, Yorgos Lanthimos, Jacques Audiard and Andrea Arnold. Discoveries will include first-time filmmaker Agathe Riedinger, who will play in Competition.
Question marks and anticipation abound after Thursday’s lineup reveal, not least in the shape of Francis Ford Coppola epic Megalopolis, which will play in Competition. Coppola is one of the rare two-time Palme d’Or winners.
Below, we run down five key talking points from the lineup announcement this morning.
Why so many English-language movies in Competition?
There are a whopping 10 English-language movies in Competition. That’s more than half the Competition.

It’ll soon be time to pack your tuxes and/or high heels and wonder “why the heck does it get so hot at 6:30 pm, just when I’m lining up for the 7:15 pm screening?” The eyes of the entertainment world will once again turn toward the French Riviera for the 77th Annual Cannes Film Festival.
The main slate announcement was made early Thursday morning, confirming many suspicions, and offering much excitement for hardcore cinephiles. For those with more mainstream tastes—and an eye toward what will still be in play come next year’s Oscars—here are some highlights.
Certainly, the biggest event screening will be the public’s first look at Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis,” a self-financed behemoth that he’s been dreaming about for decades. The director/vintner is a two-time winner of Cannes’s Palme D’Or—for “The Conversation” in 1974 and “Apocalypse Now...

Sebastian Stan is continuing to be a master of disguise.
After portraying Tommy Lee in Hulu series “Pam and Tommy” and transforming via prosthetics for “A Different Man,” Stan is now taking on the role of a lifetime: Donald Trump. Stan leads “The Apprentice,” directed by “Border” and “Holy Spider” filmmaker Ali Abbasi from a script by Gabe Sherman.
“The Apprentice” is debuting at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in competition alongside buzzy features like Paul Schrader’s “Oh, Canada,” Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis,” Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Kinds of Kindness,” Paolo Sorrentino’s “Parthenope,” and David Cronenberg’s “The Shrouds.”
“The Apprentice” centers on Trump’s (Stan) rise to fame following what the official description calls a “Faustian deal” with right-wing lawyer Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong). Trump’s marriage to Ivana Trump (Maria Bakalova) and relationship with his family including Fred Trump Sr. (Martin Donovan) are also interrogated onscreen. The film...

Sebastian Stan is no stranger to governmental subterfuge on screen. In fact, a decade ago he was causing international incidents in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, caught up in a conspiracy that went all the way to the top. But for his next role – firmly away from the MCU – he’s playing a guy who was at the very top for four long years. Yes, in Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice, Stan will be playing a young Donald Trump – and the film has just unveiled a first-look image, which you can see above.
We know – it’s upsetting to see someone as likeable on-screen as Sebastian Stan playing someone as [Redacted] as Donald J. Trump. Frankly, we’d sooner be mates with his cannibalistic killer from 2022’s Fresh. The first-look image of Sebastian Stan as a young, pre-tv star and pre-president Donald Trump in buzzy upcoming biopic “The Apprentice” has been revealed.
Ali Abbasi’s feature — which has just been announced as part of the 2024 Cannes main competition — charts Trump’s ascent to power through what is described as a “Faustian deal” with the influential right-wing lawyer and political fixer Roy Cohn (seen in the still being portrayed by Jeremy Strong). As the synopsis reads, “‘The Apprentice’ is a dive into the underbelly of the American empire.”
The hot button film, written by Gabe Sherman and likely to cause a stir on both sides of the political fence, also stars Maria Bakalova as Ivana Trump and Martin Donovan as Fred Trump Sr.
Producers include Daniel Bekerman for Scythia Films (Canada), Jacob Jarek for Profile Pictures (Denmark), Ruth Treacy and Julianne Forde for Tailored Films (Ireland), Abbasi and Louis Tisne...

Immediately off the back of its inclusion in the Cannes competition line-up, Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice has dropped a first look of Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump and Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn.
Billed as an exploration of power and ambition, set in a world of corruption and deceit, The Apprentice will examine Trump’s efforts to build his real estate business in New York in the ’70s and ’80s, also digging into his relationship with infamous attorney Cohn. It’s a mentor-protege story that charts the origins of a major American dynasty. Filled with larger than life characters, it will reveal the moral and human cost of a culture defined by winners and losers.

It’s official: Donald Trump — or at least a fictionalized version of him — is heading to Cannes.
The prestigious French film festival unveiled its 2024 official film selection Thursday in Paris, and Iranian-Danish filmmaker Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice was among the titles revealed for the event’s main competition.
The biographical drama stars Sebastian Stan as Trump and explores his career as an aspiring real estate tycoon in the New York City of the 1970s and 1980s. The film is described as a mentor-protégé narrative that documents the start of an American dynasty and tackles themes including power, corruption and deception. It delves into the relationship between Trump and Roy Cohn, the New York City prosecutor oft-remembered for working with Sen. Joseph McCarthy during the Second Red Scare.

Jennifer Lawrence has had a prolific career over the years and has shown her versatility as an actress starting from her first few projects. She made her breakthrough role playing Ree in Winter’s Bone. Lawrence went on to star in various acclaimed projects including American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, The Hunger Games and the X-Men franchise, and Joy.

Her most divisive and controversial film was her 2017 film Mother!, directed by Darren Aronofsky. The film was inspired by the Bible and had the actors playing various characters and elements mentioned in it, and Lawrence was the one who had to do most of the heavy lifting. One scene proved to be too much for the actress, and she decided that she would never return to that character ever again.

The MCU is going through a rough period with critical and commercial failures. From poor CGI work in movies and series to weak storylines, this is not the MCU the fans are familiar with. Marvel’s concerning state has also attracted the attention of the Bucky Barnes star Sebastian Stan. However, the actor is optimistic that his upcoming film may contribute to some positive change in the MCU.

Sebastian Stan is exploring roles beyond the shadow of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and making quite a good impression out of it. Also, it seems the actor has a newfound interest in the horror genre. Stan appeared in two horror movies recently, including Mimi Cave’s Fresh and his most recent A Different Man.

Stan has tested his tolerance level for a role as well. While his appearance in horror movies is well adjacent to the actor, one horror movie frightened the MCU star. Jennifer Lawrence, who led the movie, also endured intense nightmares.

Sebastian Stan felt differently while walking the streets of New York City during the “A Different Man” production.
Stan, who spends less than half of the film under prosthetics to play a man suffering from a facial disfigurement, explained at the New York City premiere of the feature that he felt as though he was treated differently by people when donning the makeup.

Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes made his MCU debut in Joe Johnston-directed 2011 movie Captain America: The First Avenger starring Chris Evans in the lead. Since the actor has reprised his character in several movies and most recently, in the post-Endgame MCU, Stan’s Barnes appeared alongside Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson in the Disney+ show, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Barnes has a prolific essence to Captain America. Previously, the character was associated with Evans’ Captain America, and now the character has been complementing the new Captain America, Sam Wilson, following the event of Endgame in the MCU. The casting of Stan, however, was quite interesting.
