“Law & Order: Organized Crime” has been renewed for Season 5, with the show now officially set to move from NBC to Peacock.
The news comes after weeks of speculation that the show would make the jump to the streaming service from the broadcast network. The Season 4 finale will air on NBC on May 16 and stream the next day on Peacock.
Moving “Law & Order: Oc” to Peacock is not altogether surprising. The show has lagged behind fellow Dick Wolf series “Law & Order,” “Law & Order: Svu,” and the three “Chicago” shows at NBC while still maintaining solid viewership. It also reportedly does very well on Peacock, particularly given its more serialized storylines, a departure from Wolf’s typical procedural format.
It was also the last Dick Wolf broadcast show awaiting word on its fate for next season. The other two “Law & Order” shows and all three “Chicago” shows were renewed back in March.

Tate Ellington had told us that the technical difficulties suffered by the team in the last episode would continue going forward, and TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the May 9 episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime shows just that. Jet (Ainsley Seiger) passes the laptop from the Boone farm to Vargas (Ellington). “If we can find a pattern in the heroin smuggling routes, maybe we can narrow down where and when the Emery shipment’s coming in,” she says. Then an Atf agent comes in to speak with Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), but she quickly shuts him down when he starts talking about sharing information and being transparent in their joint operation. However, Vargas panicking—”This is not happening!”—puts a stop to that. Watch the full sneak peek above to find out how big of a problem this is. In “Goodnight,” Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Randall (Dean Norris...

The last NBC drama series whose fate had not been determined, Law & Order: Organized Crime, is finalizing a deal for a 10-episode Season 5 renewal, sources said. As Deadline reported exclusively this month, the Wolf Entertainment series will be relocating from NBC to sibling Peacock, with the new season streaming exclusively on the platform.
The move gives the NBCUniversal streamer an original Dick Wolf drama series to go with the Wolf library and next-day runs of the company’s remaining NBC series Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, Law & Order and Law & Order: Svu, which are among the platform’s most viewed titles.

We didn’t need any more reasons to love Sergeant Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), the boss on Law & Order: Organized Crime, but it sounds like Season 4 is going to give us one: a healthy way of managing her grief. Season 3 ended with the Organized Crime Control Bureau losing one of its own, Detective Jamie Whelan (Brent Antonello) in the course of a crossover investigation with Svu, and while a few months have passed since then in-show, everyone is still coping, some in better ways than others. And on Bell’s plate in the Season 4 premiere, “Memory Lane,” airing January 18, besides her own grief? Stabler (Christopher Meloni) returns from a dangerous undercover assignment and has to deal with rapid changes at work. One of those is the advisor Bell hires to bring in AI technology that could revolutionize police investigation. Here, Truitt previews where Season 4 finds Bell’s team.

As the Organized Crime task force’s boss, Sergeant Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) has to know what’s going on in her team’s personal lives to the extent that it might affect them on the job. (She also just tends to know things.) Something that would fit the bill: If anything did happen between Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). Stabler and Benson started Svu as partners, then after he left, he surprised her by popping back up in her life as part of the kickoff of the Organized Crime spinoff. Now, both shows have teased that the two could very well cross that line. Considering how that’s played out and just what we’ve seen on Organized Crime thus far, if something did happen, it could very well affect Stabler at work and therefore be something Bell needs to deal with in some way.
