Taylor Swift and Jimmy Fallon just got down to some sick beats. On Thursday night's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Fallon and Swift took on the "Name That Song" challenge. The game is simple: The Roots play chords from a song and the players must guess the tune. Easy, right? Well... First up was a Britney Spears classic. While Fallon incorrectly guessed "Oops! I Did It Again," Swift scored a point for effortlessly knowing it was really "...Baby One More Time." And that's essentially how the game went, with the "Lover" singer crushing her competitor. In no time, she accurately guessed "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer and...

The first time Stella Donnelly sang about her vibrator, her parents were in the crowd. “It was very classic,” she says, laughing. “A really funny moment of like, ‘Well, here I am!’” After years of singing in a corporate cover band, the 26-year-old Welsh-Australian singer has fully embraced her brazen, no-fucks-given songwriting attitude. “I’d gone for so long singing other people’s songs and pretending to be happy when I’m not,” Donnelly says. “I have no other way of being able to write now than to be real.

Sometime in between hearing The Pogues’ “If I Should Fall From Grace With God” in a minivan commercial and the words “Whaaaat the Fffff?” fully processing in my brain, I decided to cathertically compile the following list of the 20 Most Inappropriate Songs Ever Used In Commercials. This subject has been broached numerous times online before, but before doing some research (some Google, but mostly library microfiche), I had no idea just how widespread this phenomenon was. Prepare your “huh?”s now: 20. Wendy’s – “Blister In The Sun” by Violent Femmes Nothing gets people in the mood for some Value Menu chili quite like one of pop music’s most notorious masturbation songs! I love Wendy’s and make it a point to stop there on any road trip, but I’m not sure I’ve ever been quite… that… excited about the fry-Frosty combination. Could they not acquire the rights...

It looks like Rachel Berry wasn't kidding when she said New Directions needed some original material for Regionals. The next Glee soundtrack will feature two original songs: "Loser Like Me," a pop confection from super-producer Max Martin (Britney Spears, P!nk), and "Get It Right," a Lea Michele-sung ballad. This is decent news for everyone, but bad news for Sixpence None the Richer. When the track listing for this new album (out March 8) leaked on Monday, it was assumed "Loser Like Me" was the band's forgotten album track. Better luck next time, guys! [PR Newswire]...

The first grade in this week's "American Idol" women's report card goes to the producers for lopping 60 minutes off the show's running time. A+ programming move, folks. The two-hour, filler-heavy live episodes we've seen in recent weeks will not be missed, even if the leaner, meaner show still managed to kick off with a painfully corny, too long bit involving the openly gay Ellen DeGeneres cuddling in the lap of the painfully heterosexual, recently engaged Simon Cowell as some sort of bid to convince us that the two talent adjudicators are BFFs.
Now about those contestants. A few will not be missed either next week, based on their subpar performances on Tuesday night. Others, meanwhile, continued to impress and...

It’s karaoke at its finest, this. The vast majority of these 40 songs are guaranteed to get people up and singing, and what we have here is a collection of party favourites. The only downside to this game is that it doesn’t come bundled with a microphone – you’ll need to buy it separately – but as far as the choice of songs goes, you can’t really go wrong if you are looking to get your mates all singing together. The track listing is as follows... · What's Up - 4 Non Blondes · Black Velvet - Alannah Myles · Rehab - Amy Winehouse · Doctor Jones - Aqua · Love Shack - The B-52's · Let's Get It Started - Black Eyed Peas · Word Up - Cameo · Tubthumping - Chumbawamba · Rhythm Of The Night - DeBarge · Groove Is In The Heart - Deee-Lite · I Touch Myself - Divinyls · American Pie - Don McLean · Son...

This is the week we've all been waiting for. Following Tuesday and Wednesday night's performances, we will be down to season nine's top 12, and the competition on "American Idol" will start to get serious.
After last week's surprise switcheroo due to Crystal Bowersox's illness, the remaining 12 ladies served up a mixed bag of good, bad and eh on Wednesday night. Lilly Scott and Siobhan Magnus proved to be suddenly strong competition for Bowersox, who stormed back from her undisclosed ailment to regain her spot as the woman to beat this year.
So what do the rest of the ladies need to do to win the hearts — and ears — of the nation? How can...

We still find Lacey Brown one of the more forgettable contestants on this year’s American Idol season. The fact that she likes to restore antique furniture doesn’t make her stand out anymore either, why couldn’t she have chosen a more interesting hobby?
On last night’s live show Lacey sang Sixpence None The Richer’s ‘Kiss Me’ and though we liked it and thought her vocals were quite sweet, we agreed with Simon who said it was forgettable.
Randy Jackson thought the performance sounded like Karaoke, while Ellen DeGeneres thought it was adorable.
Kara DioGuardi thought that that it was good and that the track brought out her tone but added that Lacey needs to step it up a little bit. Simon Cowell described the song as “marginally better than last week” but added that there was a “massive difference” between her and Crystal.

In some ways, the first two weeks of this year's "American Idol" semifinals have felt a lot like an extension of the brutal Hollywood Week: a painful but necessary mass culling of the herd in order to get to the good stuff.
Four more singers went down Thursday night (March 4), including Michelle Delamor, Jermaine Sellers, Haeley Vaughn and John Park. Inexplicably, Tim Urban, the cute boy who has proven two weeks running that he is the luckiest guy on the stage, was given a pass, which allowed him to bust out his "what? me?" face yet again along with Todrick Hall, whose Tina Turner cover drew serious fire but also enough votes to keep him in the running.

Wednesday night's (March 3) episode of "American Idol" was, without a doubt, the best episode of the season so far. That's not to say it was perfect (Haeley Vaughn's version of Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" saw to that), but there were a number of instantly memorable (and occasionally jaw-dropping) highlights. In addition to Crystal Bowersox's triumphant return from illness, there was Siobhan Magnus' rousing, left-field run through of Aretha Franklin's "Think," Lacey Brown's interesting take on Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me" and Lilly Scott's not-unreasonable take on the Sam Cook classic "A Change Is Gonna Come" (even though she still should have left it in the "retired" pile). Heck, even though Michelle Delamor's attack on Creed's "With Arms Wide Open" (which she re-imagined as a sort of shuffling R&B jam) was most certainly a failure, it was nice to see...

It's very possible that the Top 8 "American Idol" women will all be better than any men left in the competition next week.
This week is easy, "Idol" viewers. There were four stand-outs, four middle-of-the-roads and two girls who should be packing their bags. Let's get right to Zap2it's Top 10 women.
No. 1 (in alphabetical order) Crystal Bowersox, Katelyn Epperly, Siobhan Magnus and Lilly Scott
There is no choosing between them. All four women were outstanding and they all reached the next level of the show in very different ways. Wednesday (Mar. 3) is the moment "American Idol" officially started season 9. Let's take them one by one.

Though we didn't find out what led to Bowersox's hospitalization, host Ryan Seacrest addressed the issue right off the bat on Wednesday's show, asking the dreadlocked singer how she was feeling just hours after it was revealed on his radio show that she would be sent home if she couldn't perform.
