With such a distinct, soothing tone, it’s no wonder Jon Hamm has gotten so much voice work. Now, he’s set to get his own starring role in an animated series called Grimsburg, playing a detective who juggles the struggles of his job and his home life.
In Grimsburg, Jon Hamm plays Martin Flute (looking very much like Hopper from Stranger Things), “maybe the greatest detective ever to catch a cannibal clown and correctly identify a mid-century modern armoire. But there’s one mystery he still can’t crack — himself. To do that he must return to Grimsburg, a town where everyone has a secret or three, and redeem himself in the eyes of his fellow detectives, his ferocious ex-wife and his lovably unstable son.”

Fox will utilize its NFL doubleheader on Sunday, January 7, to help launch the network’s latest animated comedy, “Grimsburg.” The show, starring Jon Hamm (who also executive produces), will air immediately following the second game in all time zones.

Updated: The network upfronts are once again front-and-center for the television industry as major players gather in New York May 15-17 for the springtime ritual of presenting programming plans for the upcoming TV season.
Upfronts are always a hectic time, but this year it’s even more so because of the writers strike that began May 2. Writers and many actors are sitting out the upfront presentations in solidarity with the Writers Guild of America. The promise of WGA pickets surrounding all major events spurred Netflix to make a hasty decision to switch to a virtual presentation rather than an in-person event at the company’s Paris Theater.
As content chiefs outline their plans for the 2022-2023 television season, here is a running list of new drama and comedy series orders handed out by ABC, Disney, CBS, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBC, Fox, the CW and other major players in the upfront.

ABC has put in development The Long Game, a half-hour single-camera family comedy from writer Chadd Gindin, director Randall Einhorn and ABC Studios, where both Gindin and Einhorn are under deals.
Written by Gindin, The Long Game follows a family of scam artists led by Loni — who, 16 years into being a mother, decides it’s time for her to be a good one. She tries to get her family to go straight despite a husband who still slips, a lifetime of bad examples that the kids won’t let her forget and no idea how to accomplish this in a society that seems to have embraced the morally gray area she’s trying to get them away from.
Einhorn executive produces. Gindin’s Gizmotech Industries Incorporated and Einhorn’s Randall Einhorn Films co-produce with ABC Studios.
Gindin also has a comedy with Nashville-based comedian Dusty Slay in the works at ABC.
