Exclusive: In a competitive situation, Ketchup Entertainment has paid mid-seven figures to acquire Goodrich, the comedy that stars Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis, directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer from the script she wrote. Keaton plays Andy Goodrich, a man whose life is upended when his young wife leaves him and enters a 90-day rehab program. Goodrich is left in charge of their 9-year-old twins, thrusting him into the world of modern parenthood. He leans on his grown and pregnant daughter Grace (Kunis) for support as he ultimately evolves into the father to the second generation that Grace always wanted.
“We are delighted to close the deal for Goodrich., said Ketchup CEO Gareth West. “Hallie Meyers-Shyer is an incredibly talented filmmaker and has delivered a movie that has a fresh, funny take on family,...

Below is the running list of movies that have found buyers.

For a comic book movie franchise that has never reached the heights of most Marvel or DC films of the last two decades, "Hellboy" has remained shockingly resilient. To that end, Mike Mignola's beloved character is set for yet another big-screen reboot in the form of "Hellboy: The Crooked Man." This time around, the character will be headed back to the 1950s for a folk horror adventure based on one the most celebrated storylines from the comics.
This will be the character's first film since 2019's "Hellboy." Starring David Harbour, it proved to be a critical and commercial disaster. Be that as it may, Millennium Media is set to try to bring the character to life once again with a lower-budget take on the material. So, when will you be able to see the movie? Who is playing Hellboy? Who is directing this time around? We've got all of...

Fans eager to give Hellboy another chance on the silver screen rejoice! Ketchup Entertainment snagged the rights to Millennium Media‘s Hellboy: The Crooked Man, starring Jack Kesy as the kitten-loving, pancake-eating demon with an attitude and guns under his trenchcoat. Brian Taylor directs from a script by Christopher Golden, inspired by the Dark Horse comic book series created by Mike Mignola.
In Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Big Red and a rookie Brpd agent become stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia, only to discover a small community haunted by witches, led by the Crooked Man. “According to local legend, Jeremiah Witkins was one of the first settlers in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia,” says the Hellboy Wiki about the Crooked Man. “He built his house in an area called The Hurricane. He was also one of the worst men in his lifetime, amassing his fortune from the misery of others. Stirring...

The New York Film Festival is set to close with the North American premiere of Michael Mann’s Ferrari, it was announced Thursday.
The screening of the Neon film starring Adam Driver and Penélope Cruz will take place on Oct. 13 at Alice Tully Hall.
The Enzo Ferrari biopic stars Driver as the racecar manufacturer and entrepreneur as he deals with professional and personal struggles in 1957. His marriage to wife Laura (Cruz) is struggling amid his philandering and the tragic recent death of their young son. Meanwhile, Driver’s Ferrari faces pressure to increase production as he prepares for the dangerous Mille Miglia race.
“Dovetailing these narrative strands, Mann effortlessly shifts gears between elegiac and spectacular, climaxing in an exhilarating and terrifying race across the Northern Italian landscape — a visual and aural wonder of revving machinery against bucolic splendor — that ranks with the greatest set pieces of the director’s career,...

Exclusive: Fresh off a surprise “work in progress” screening at SXSW, Robert Rodriguez’s action-thriller Hypnotic, starring Ben Affleck, has been set for a May 12 U.S. release.
As we revealed last month, Ketchup Entertainment will be launching the movie on more than 2,000 screens.
The looming release for a movie that remains unfinished is yet another talking point in the project’s tumultuous journey to screen.
Little has been straight-forward for Hypnotic but the warm reception it received on Sunday night was a welcome respite for its creatives and financiers. It’s unusual for a big budget film to get a public “work in progress” screening at a festival but Austin was a smart choice given the home crowd’s reverence for Texas-native Rodriguez.
The director said today: “I’ve been working on this film for many years now, and to see the reaction from my home town audience at SXSW was humbling and validating.

Director Robert Rodriguez‘s action thriller Hypnotic, which stars Ben Affleck, will be screening for potential international distributors at the European Film Market at the end of this week, but a few days before that screening is held Deadline reports that the movie has secured a U.S. distribution deal… and the plan is for Hypnotic to get a theatrical release sometime this summer.
Hypnotic has had a bumpy ride on its way to this distribution deal. When the 65 million movie was heading into production in late 2021, it was the flagship project for mini-studio Solstice, which was the main financier and was going to be the U.S. distributor. But when Hypnotic finally got rolling after waiting through multiple delays, Solstice imploded and the movie was left without a U.S. distributor. Quite a blow for the international investors who had been promised Hypnotic would get a 2000 screen theatrical release in the U.

Exclusive: Coming into this week’s EFM, Ben Affleck action-thriller Hypnotic was barely on anyone’s radar. However, the movie was quietly one of the market’s X-factors. It’s rare, after all, for a big-budget, finished film with A-list talent and director to still be without a U.S. distributor.
But the Robert Rodriguez-directed project, which wrapped shoot back in 2021, has had one of the more curious and challenging journeys for a big-budget independent film package in recent years.
First announced back at AFM 2019, the 65M project was the flagship package for Mark Gill’s ambitious new mini-studio Solstice, which was due to handle the domestic release. Oscar winner Affleck would play a detective investigating a mystery involving his missing daughter and a secret government program. Pedigree also came from former Warner Bros exec Jeff Robinov who was aboard as producer.

Penélope Cruz and Adam Driver, who are both expected to be attending the upcoming Venice Film Festival, are already in Italy shooting Micheal Mann’s long-gestating “Ferrari” drama, in which Cruz appears as the wife of auto racing impresario Enzo Ferrari, played by Driver.
First images are surfacing of Cruz (see above photo) as Ferrari’s wife Laura after cameras started rolling Aug. 1 in central Italy.
The big-budget biopic kicked off physical production in the town of Maranello, known worldwide as the home of Ferrari and the iconic car’s Formula One racing team. It follows the former racecar driver and auto manufacturing giant in the summer of 1957. With his marriage to his wife Laura (Cruz) in crisis over the mourning of a son, and the threat of bankruptcy looming over the company he and his wife built 10 years earlier, Ferrari embarks on a bold race — the Mille Miglia, 1,000 miles across Italy.

The other night I was looking through those Bernie Wrightson images from Stephen King’s Cycle of the Werewolf and realized that we haven’t had a ruthless, gory werewolf film in some time. While I’m not sure if X-Men writer David Hayter’s new film Wolves is going to be what I (we) want, I’m always down for a new werewolf film.
While I have never heard of Ketchup Entertainment, David Hayter is someone that floats above the radar for me after being involved with the first two X-Men films and worked on the Watchmen screenplay. Let’s just hope Wolves delivers. Read below for the official press release.
