“Meet our daughter,” the 90 Day alum captioned the Instagram post, which featured several photos of the adorable little one swaddled in a purple blanket. She also tagged Dallas in the announcement.
Kalani and Dallas have not shared their daughter’s name. She has two children from her previous marriage to Asuelu Pulaa, a boy named Kennedy, who was born in 2019, and a boy named Oliver, who was born in 2018.

Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Kenan Thompson, Michael Che and Colin Jost all have hosted the Primetime Emmys in the past 15 years, but the late-night community once again is feeling aggrieved by the TV Academy as it heads into the latest awards season.
The central issue relates to the number of nominations in the Outstanding Talk Series and Outstanding Variety Series categories and the difficulty with fairly judging a wide range of shows that can be very different from each other.
Insiders tell Deadline that there needs to be a change in terms of how late-night shows and variety series are judged at the Emmys. However, no one can really agree what that change is.
As the television world prepares for Emmy nominations to be unveiled on July 17, there are expected to be only three talk shows nominated for an award. Separately, Saturday Night Live and Last...

The full ensemble cast is announced for the remake of 1989’s The War Of The Roses which will star Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch.
It’s been just over a month since we learned that Jay Roach would be remaking the 1989 relationship comedy, War Of The Roses and we now have a fuller idea of what the film’s cast looks like.
We already knew that the new adaptation would be starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman as the central couple, who just like Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner in the 1989 original, proceed with a nasty yet entertaining divorce.
A fresh report (via Deadline) has now confirmed that the film’s cast will be rounded out by Kate McKinnon, Andy Samberg and Doctor Who's Ncuti Gatwa.
McKinnon and Samberg are both established comedy stars who’ve led films themselves, so grabbing them both in supporting roles is a real coup.

The latest episode of Last Week Tonight is being blocked by broadcasters in India—just as host John Oliver predicted.
“Meaningful criticism of [Prime Minister Narendra] Modi is scarce on TV in India,” Oliver told viewers during Sunday’s episode of Last Week Tonight, which focused largely on India’s contentious elections. His monologue called out the many acts of censorship enacted by Modi, the “uncritical, fawning praise” the leader receives from the media, and the proliferation of anti-Muslim extremism under his regime.
Oliver’s coverage has now become part of that scarcity, as the entire Last Week Tonight episode has been made unavailable to viewers in India.
According to The Independent, the June 2 episode is not currently available on JioCinema, Last Week Tonight‘s streaming partner in India. Even on YouTube, the video has been blocked to viewers attempting to watch the episode from India.

John Oliver opened Sunday’s Last Week Tonight by covering some trial that just wrapped up.
“A New York businessman got into some legal trouble,” Oliver said, with great understatement, “which was undeniably fun to watch unfold live.”
From there, HBO’s Last Week Tonight showed a clip of NBC News’ senior legal correspondent Laura Jarrett reading off every “guilty” verdict delivered against Donald Trump last Thursday on 34 counts in his hush money trial.
“She did that for all 34 different counts and it is so satisfying to watch,” Oliver said with more than a little glee. “I’d honestly be surprised if someone hadn’t already uploaded it to Pornhub by now.”
“Anyway,” he continued, “that will be so fun to remember five months from now when we’re all watching that exact anchor count the 270 electoral votes that Trump’s won because nothing matters if we live in a broken world.

Nobody Tell Modi About Opposite Snakes
Prankish silliness in the service of actual news is an art that John Oliver has mastered over Last Week Tonight‘s 11 seasons, even if some nights’ darkest deep dives into serious subject matter make the comic juxtaposition a little difficult.
Which brings us to Last Week Tonight‘s main story this week about the seemingly inevitable reelection of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a third term. As Oliver noted, Modi has been in power so long that he was the subject of the very first ever Last Week Tonight main story back on April 27, 2014. In his typically encyclopedic examination of Modi’s stranglehold on power over some 1.4 billion people, the host showed how the Indian Pm has increasingly utilized authoritarian tactics, including press censorship, legal intimidation of opponents, and the old standby of fear-mongering anti-Muslim xenophobia to secure power in the hands of his governing Bharatiya Janata Party,...

During the latest episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver joined the list of Hollywood notables who have reacted to Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in his New York hush money trial.
On Thursday, a jury found the former president guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records after weeks of testimony from a former tabloid publisher, a Hollywood fixer, Trump’s former lawyer and a porn star. It was also a historic day, as Trump also became the first former president to be convicted of felony crimes.
“A New York businessman got into some legal trouble, which was undeniably fun to watch unfold live,” Oliver said at the beginning of the show.
The comedian proceeded to play a clip from NBC News’ live coverage of the verdict reading, where senior legal correspondent Laura Jarrett verbally read “guilty” for each individual count.

After Libertarians Pick Chase Oliver As Presidential Candidate, Nominee Calls Trump ‘A War Criminal’
On Sunday, political activist Chase Oliver won 60% of the vote and was chosen as the Libertarian Party’s nominee for the 2024 presidential election.
In his victory speech, he asked his fellow party members to assist him in fighting “the war machine,” including the “genocide in Gaza.” He called for the release of the Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
Oliver also demanded expanded work visas, a smoother path to citizenship for immigrants to U.S., the “decriminalization” of abortion and condemned American involvement in foreign wars.
Oliver said he “wants to bring a new vision to the broken two-party system” as he runs for president of the United States.”
Oliver was chosen as the party’s nominee ahead of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Donald Trump, who did not qualify.
The political activist was nominated after seven rounds of voting at the party’s convention in Washington, D.C., beating Michael Rectenwald and Mike ter Maat.

Let’s face the harsh truth together, folks: most of us don’t have twin siblings, and worse yet, never will — unless the cloning technology enters the market, that is. We will never experience all the pranks twins can pull on other people and each other, but at least we can have fun learning about them from our loner side of the street.
Weasley Twins Are Still Doing Weasley Things
In the Harry Potter movies, James and Oliver Phelps played Fred and George Weasley, respectively. The Weasley twins were notorious prankers and troublemakers in Hogwarts, and the twin actors have always been just about the same. While the movies ended years ago, Phelps’ own shenanigans didn’t.
James, for instance, finds great pleasure in abusing his and Oliver’s similar looks to force massive hotel debts upon his unsuspecting twin brother when they’re traveling.

The CW used to be the ideal network for soapy teen dramas, sci-fi vampires and werewolf series, and DC superhero shows.
Now, it's a disappointing shell of those days.
The Vampire Diaries premiered back in 2009 and led to two additional spinoffs, while DC's Arrow began in 2012 and also began a massive franchise.

French Canadian director Sophie Dupuis’ third feature, “Solo,” saunters past the usual questions of queer identity and acceptance we often see onscreen.
Instead, her film starring 26-year-old muse Théodore Pellerin dances headlong into the suffocating effects of toxic love, via an art form that’s all about liberation: drag.
The Toronto Film Festival premiere opens with a gorgeous, sinewy rising star of the Montreal drag scene (Pellerin) twirling across the stage to Abba’s “Voulez-Vous,” while the screen goes from black to neon shades of purple. As the scene bleeds into a montage of Simon, now out of drag and dancing under the club lights, the world of “Solo” widens to his fellow queens, his sister Maude (Alice Moreault), and a newbie performer who catches his eye, Oliver (Félix Maritaud). And, for a brief moment, it appears that the carefree Simon is destined to have it all: a passionate romance with the recent French arrival,...

Similar to Grant Gustin, who first appeared on Arrow season 2 before getting his own spin-off show following the overwhelmingly positive reception, Melissa Benoist too originally auditioned for Arrow. However, the role she auditioned for was a far cry from the whimsy optimistic Supergirl she’d go on to play in the following years, as it was much darker in tone.
Although she managed to leave a lasting impact on the casting director, which later came in handy during her selection for Girl of Steel, she lost out on playing Oliver’s sister to Willa Holland.

It’s not uncommon for shows to lose their spark when they go on for too long, and this is pretty apparent in most CW shows, especially the Arrowverse, which kickstarted with Arrow in 2012. Despite starting on a high note that led to The Flash’s launch, which too was showered with laudation by fans and critics, there wasn’t a constant flow of quality in their latter seasons.
In hindsight, it’s not surprising to see why this was the case, as Marc Guggenheim, one of its creators, recalled they didn’t initially start out with an interconnected universe in mind.

Two of the most celebrated shows in Emmy history are set to experience a weird awards season.
Saturday Night Live, which has won more Emmys than any other show in television history, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, which has won in its category eight years in a row, could both face the indignity of not being officially nominated for an Emmy as a result of submission rules.
The number of submissions in the Outstanding Scripted Variety Series category is expected to be significantly lower than last year. In addition to SNL and Oliver’s HBO show, the only other shows understood to be submitting in this category are CBS’ Taylor Tomlinson-hosted After Midnight, HBO’s Painting with John and The Magic Prank Show with Justin Willman, which launched in April.
Per TV Academy rules, categories with fewer than 7 submissions will be “screened by the appropriate peer group...

John Oliver addressed the past week in commencement gaffes on Sunday’s edition of Last Week Tonight.
Noting that ceremonies in general have been “a little chaotic this year, both because of the continuing protest over Gaza, but also for weirder reasons,” he kicked off the segment by showing footage from the Thomas Jefferson University College of Nursing graduation ceremony, where the announcer struggled to pronounce common names like Sarah, Meghan, Elizabeth, Molly — and Thomas.
The commencement presenter at Thomas Jefferson University accidentally read off the phonetic spellings of each graduate’s name and oh my god. pic.twitter.com/DVLGibmnRZ

“That is magnificent!” Oliver quipped. “Mispronouncing ‘Thomas’ at Thomas Jefferson University is just spectacular.”
He noted that the school later said the problem was due to the fact that the names had been spelled phonetically.
A message to the graduates of the Jefferson College of Nursing.

Stephen Amell played the role of Oliver Queen a.k.a Arrow in the CW’s Arrow. The project spawned the Arrowverse which included shows such as The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl, among others. However, Amell’s Arrow was the one that started it all and has an enduring legacy as it introduced many DC characters to the mainstream.
While the show ended in 2020 after eight seasons, creator Marc Guggenheim reportedly had a different idea for the ending of the series. "Only Murders in the Building" has earned pretty much universal acclaim for its first three seasons, including an 8 out of 10 /Film review from Josh Spiegel for season 3. It's also been responsible for Meryl Streep's return to TV, a weirdly catchy original Steve Martin tune (or two), and an official companion podcast called "Only Murders in the Pod." Plus, of course, the show has won four Primetime Emmys and counting. So what's next for the series? In a word: Hollywood.
