Written by Pakzad, Find Your Friends watches as Amber and her four best girlfriends take a trip to escape the L.A. bubble and cut loose in Joshua Tree for the weekend. But upon arrival, they quickly realize the locals don’t want them there. As the hostile environment escalates, our girls are disparaged by their aggressive neighbor, dismissed by the cops, and, it seems, even being stalked by some local men. With hindsight being 20/20 and all, it may be a shock to learn that when Jane Fonda and producing partner Bruce Gilbert wanted to make a workplace comedy about three secretaries who decide to enact revenge on their tyrannical, chauvinist boss called "9 to 5," few people (see: men) in positions of power thought the film would be a success. And yet, the film -- which got its name after a grassroots organization of women fighting for workplace equality and fair pay (that is still around today) -- was a box-office smash, launched the mainstream career of Dolly Parton outside of music, and inspired both a TV adaptation and a Broadway musical.
Featuring interviews with Parton, Fonda, Lily Tomlin, countless others who worked on the film, the TV adaptation (Rita Moreno!), the Broadway musical (Allison Janney!), and activists from then and now, the documentary "Still Working 9 to 5" currently boasts a 93% critical score.

Leonel Moreno, the Venezuelan migrant and TikTok influencer, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) in Ohio after being a fugitive for two years.
Ice records reveal that the agency picked up Moreno, who is being held at Geauga County Jail.
He had been hunted by Ice ever since he crossed the border illegally at Eagle Pass, Texas, in April 2022.
The fugitive had been released as part of the Alternatives to Detention Program, which allows migrants on parole to go free while officials track them until their next court date. Moreno was due in Miami court in November 2022 but never showed up.
He made headlines recently after sharing tips on invading vacant homes and living off the United States government on his TikTok account @leitooficial_25, which had over 500,000 followers before it was suspended.
The videos led Ice to his whereabouts after he proved himself challenging to find.

It’s safe to say Rita Moreno had an unforgettable experience meeting Lenny Kravitz for the first time.
The Egot winner shared on Thursday’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show that she was “astonished” at the legendary singer’s initial reaction to her during the Vanity Fair Oscar Party last month.
“I said to my daughter [Fernanda Luisa Gordon], ‘Oh look, there’s Lenny Kravitz. Let’s go say hello,'” Moreno recalled. “And she said, ‘Do you know him?’ I said, ‘No, but, you know, it’s a party,’ and he was all alone.”
After the West Side Story actress introduced herself to Kravitz, she said, “At that point — you’re not gonna believe this — he fell to the floor, and he got on his knees. And he just went on and on and on and on about how much he’s admired me all these years,” quipping,...

Deftones took the stage at Coachella on Friday night, delivering a ferocious 12-song set that included a cover of The Smiths’ “Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want.”
During their set, Deftones also performed “Combat,” from 2006’s Saturday Night Wrist, for only the second time ever. They also ran through “Feiticeira,” “Digital Bath,” “Ohms,” “Change (In the House of Flies),” and “My Own Summer (Shove It).” Watch video of Deftones’ Coachella performance and see the full setlist below.
Perhaps even more exciting, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno confirmed in a backstage interview that the group is nearing completion of their next album. As Moreno explained to Kroq, all of the music for the album is recorded and he just needs to finish up the vocals. “We want it to be great. I think that’s most important. With John Travolta, Gregory Nava and a host of other luminaries lighting it up, the 12th Panama International Film Festival wrapped Sunday on a high note, with general attendance exceeding expectations.
Speaking at the closing ceremony held at the Canal Museum, Pituka Ortega-Heilbron, Iff Panama Board President, hailed this latest edition as a vibrant rebirth for the festival.
“We were hit by the phenomenon of the pandemic, and we certainly don’t want to complain or victimize ourselves because to fight is synonymous with living, but this festival has fought tirelessly for the last four years to thrive.”
“There’s still much ground to cover. We must work together – government, community groups, and businesses – to understand how important cultural and creative industries are for our country’s economy and society to grow,” declared Culture Minister Giselle González Villarué, who later told Variety that a delayed feasibility study that would explore...

During a rally in Dayton, Ohio, last week, Former President Donald Trump declared that some illegal immigrants should not be considered people and warned that it will be a “bloodbath” if he does not get reelected.
“I don’t know if you call them people,” Trump stated at the rally. “In some cases, they’re not people, in my opinion. But I’m not allowed to say that because the radical left says that’s a terrible thing to say.”
Trump was in Ohio to campaign with Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, who went on to win the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown.
Moreno, a businessman, faced a scandal when it was revealed that a profile on an adult website was linked to him seeking the company of “young men.”
“We don’t need to vote in five different languages,” he argued. “We learn the language. It means you assimilate.

Trump-backed Bernie Moreno won Ohio’s Republican US Senate primary on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.
Moreno defeated state Senator Matt Dolan, a critic of the former president, and Secretary of State Frank Larose; he will now go head-to-head against the Democratic incumbent, Senator Sherrod Brown.
The victory for the wealthy former car dealer, who has never held elected office, comes as the former president’s grip on the Senate tightens. Brown is one of the two Democrats (the other is Montana Democrat Jon Tester) running for reelection in red states.

Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are still riding the wave of success at the Oscars. Both actors were part of ‘Barbenheimer’, the biggest phenomenon of 2023, which saw Barbie and Oppenheimer go head-to-head.
Both Gosling and Blunt impressed in their respective roles, the former as Ken in Barbie and the latter as Kitty Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer. And now, the duo will come together in the action comedy film The Fall Guy.
Emily Blunt is a powerhouse actress, and she has been impressive throughout her career. She has chosen carefully crafted roles and delivered memorable performances each time. Her outing in the new film is no different, and she even managed to leave her co-star in awe of her.

In The Fall Guy, audiences are treated to a kinetic journey through the lens of Hollywood’s most daring yet often overlooked contributors: stunt performers. Starring an ensemble cast led by Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham, Stephanie Hsu, Winston Duke and Teresa Palmer, this film not only entertains with its action-packed sequences but also delves deep into the emotional and physical tolls endured by those who bring our favorite cinematic moments to life.
Drawing inspiration from Glen A. Larson’s 1980s TV series, The Fall Guy cleverly navigates the intersection between homage and reinvention. Where the ABC series celebrated the thrill and glamour of stunt work through the eyes of Lee Majors’ Colt Seavers, a stuntman moonlighting as a bounty hunter, Leitch’s film amplifies this concept by embedding the narrative within the fabric of contemporary filmmaking. Gosling’s portrayal of Colt as a stuntman mirrors the...

It’s possible to define the greatness of Pittsburgh Pirates right fielder Roberto Clemente with numbers.
Precisely 3,000 hits. Twelve Gold Gloves. Two World Series titles with a franchise that hadn’t won one in the 30 years before Clemente’s arrival. One World Series Mvp and one National League Mvp. The first Latino player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
The numbers for Roberto Clemente are fairly phenomenal.
But they’re inadequate.
Roberto Clemente is in a pantheon of sports figures because of the trail he blazed for Latino and specifically Caribbean players. He’s revered because his commitment to humanitarian causes was so all-encompassing that his death, at the age of 38, came while transporting supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. He’s iconic because the things he did on the field that couldn’t always be measured statistically — his throwing arm, his on-field intensity — bordered on Bunyanesque.

There's a reason why we're still talking about America Ferrera's "Barbie" monologue months after the blockbuster was released. While presenting the Best Supporting Actress award during the 2024 Oscars, Rita Moreno gave an emotional speech about Ferrera, who was nominated for her role of Gloria in the pink-filled film. While Ferrera didn't wind up taking home an Oscar - the award instead went to Da'Vine Joy Randolph for her role in "The Holdovers" - Moreno's speech left folks in the audience trying to understand why.
"America. Your powerful Barbie monologue is perhaps the most talked-about moment in the most talked-about movie of the past year," Moreno said. "Your words and the passion with which you delivered them about the most impossible standards females must try to live up to galvanized not only women but everyone with a pulse."

Deftones frontman Chino Moreno and his wife Risa have taken in a rescue dog that was nearly euthanized.
Scarlett, a pug, suffered a severe anal prolapse and was advised to be euthanized by a veterinarian. However, Scarlett was rescued by the The Pug Queen Foundation of Los Angeles, and she underwent surgery before being fostered and later finding a forever home with the Morenos.
Scarlett will join the couple’s other pups, Tito and Sasha, in their home in Portland, Oregon, after Chino picked her up in L.A. while on tour with Crosses. The Pug Queen, who helped initially rescue Scarlett, shared a photo of Chino, Risa, and Scarlett on Instagram, along with the heartwarming tale of how the pug survived and found her new home:

It’s been a bustling, seemingly nonstop awards season, but Hollywood’s stars and stylists truly did save the best for last.
That’s the verdict from the red carpet at Oscars 2024, which served up a plethora of looks that were often dramatic, sometimes over-the-top and grand, and occasionally just simply dazzling. Among the night’s biggest fashion surprises: Margot Robbie eschewed her now-trademark pink in favor of a beautifully sculpted gown in deep brown by Versace — and it was America Ferrera who embraced Barbie’s signature color in a stunning pink chainmail dress, also by Versace.
Indeed, Robbie turned out to be prescient with her choice of color, as noir-hued gowns ruled the 2024 Oscars red carpet. Some were sleek and simple, like the Dolce & Gabbana gown worn by Jamie Lee Curtis, or they brought the drama, with Sandra Hüller’s Schiaparelli and Carey Mulligan’s ivory-accented black mermaid...

Rita Moreno took inspiration from her real-life experiences with Hollywood “bitches” for her role in The Prank.
The nonagenarian Egot winner dropped by The View on Monday to promote the upcoming comedic film, in which she plays a mean-spirited teacher who is accused of murder by two of her students after she threatens to fail the entire class.

While speaking about how she tapped into the role, the actress didn’t hold back. “Let me tell you what I did: I just thought, how am I going to play this terrible person? A musical movie set around the romance about gangsters is not something you come across often. But Steven Spielberg came up with this idea in 2021 that got seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. West Side Story (2021), starring Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler in the lead, made a splash on the silver screen, with critics giving the movie rave reviews.

A prolific filmmaker himself, Quentin Tarantino is one such person who loved the movie. According to the director, he thought West Side Story should have won the Best Picture Oscar that year, and could not stop praising the movie or Spielberg. It is the second feature-length adaptation of the 1957 stage musical after the 1961 movie of the same name.

Few titles from this year’s Cannes were a bigger surprise than The Delinquents, a three-hour-plus Argentinian crime comedy with existentialist leanings. Word from the festival was largely outstanding, critics finding Rodrigo Moreno’s treatment of the heist subgenre entirely fresh when such seems impossible. Ahead of its October 18 release from Mubi, a trailer has arrived.
As Rory O’Connor said in our review, “In each of those lives the film’s central question about the nature and cost of freedom is finely sketched out. The men Morán encounters in prison enjoy a freedom of time and thought that is alien to him at first; while in Córdoba, both men discover a freedom beyond the reach of their urban, consumerist lives. The money, of course, promises another kind of freedom entirely. These ideas are drip-fed over The Delinquents‘ leisurely runtime, and thanks to Moreno’s patient, wistful approach, there is no...

Ever had a horrifically boring job, one that you would do anything to get out of? Well, how about rob your own bank?
Argentinian film “The Delinquents,” written and directed by Rodrigo Moreno, plays out like a modern (and more serious) “Office Space.” The film premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section and screened at TIFF; it will next premiere stateside at the New York Film Festival.
In this surreal comedy, Buenos Aires bank employee Morán (Daniel Elías) dreams up a scheme to liberate himself from corporate monotony: he’ll steal enough money to support a modest retirement, then confess and serve prison time while his co-worker (Esteban Bigliardi) holds on to the cash. Soon under pressure by a company investigator, accomplice Román heads to a remote rural idyll to hide the funds. There, he encounters a mysterious woman (Margarita Molfino) who will transform his life forever.

The physio of Carlos Alcaraz , Juanjo Moreno, spoke with the Atp website about the Spaniard's win at Wimbledon .
Carlos Alcaraz won the biggest trophy of his career at Wimbledon recently by beating Novak Djokovic in the final . It's the most prestigious trophy he's ever won and, quite frankly, the biggest win of his career. Beating Djokovic on grass is tremendous, but even more so when put into perspective with Alcaraz's track record on the surface.
It was a huge thing for the youngster though not all were surprised. Yes, it was unexpected but those closest to Alcaraz always believed he could get it done. One of those is his physio Juanjo Moreno who talked to ATPTour.com about the win.
If we weren’t surprised, we wouldn’t be human. As Carlos Alcaraz’s team, captained by Juan Carlos Ferrero, our targets and goals couldn’t be bigger. When we...

There are movies that grab you by the throat and refuse to let go until the story ends. And there are others that playfully take your hand, guiding you into stories that blossom and fold in on themselves several times over, leading to endings that are more like beginnings.
For the past five years, a crop of films from Argentina has been specializing in the latter type, telling long, winding, labyrinthine stories inspired by the French Nouvelle Vague — especially Jacques Rivette’s Celine and Julie Go Boating and his serial epic, Out 1 — as well as Latin American postmodernists like Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortázar and Roberto Bolaño.
With mammoth running times and multiple characters, Mariano Llinás’ six-part, 13-hour La Flor (2018) and Laura Citarella’s two-part, six-hour Trenque Lauquen (2022), are the best-known examples of the genre. Enigmatic and absorbing, they have found a fanbase at festivals and on specialty streaming sites,...

Madrid, March 23 (Ians) Sevilla winger Bryan Gil has dropped out of the Spain squad for the forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Norway and Scotland, the Spanish Football Federation (Rfef) confirmed on Thursday.
Gil, who is on loan at Sevilla from Tottenham Hotspur, suffered “muscle problems” in training and will return to his club “as a precaution,” the Rfef informed, adding that coach Luis de la Fuente will not call a replacement in the squad.
The winger is the third player to drop out of the squad De la Fuente named last Friday, with Barcelona midfielder Pedri failing to recover from an issue that has sidelined him for around a month, while Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno suffered a calf injury in his side’s 3-0 win away to Osasuna last Sunday.
Betis forward Borja Iglesias and Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino were named as replacements for Pedri and Moreno.
