- Mike Quinn started as a commercial radio DJ in 1987 at the age of 15. He was the youngest radio announcer on the air in commercial radio broadcasting at the time in the U.S. that maintained Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licensing.
- Mike is associated with "Cypress Hillbillies", Motor Family. This is an offshoot motorcycle club of rock-rap group Cypress Hill, and is headed by the groups members lead singers.
- Mike has been a songwriter, music producer, and a radio marketing music consultant to major and indie record labels. His ties include Universal, EMI, Capitol, Silverstone, Interscope, Island-DefJam, Powerhowse, Virgin, and many more.
- In 1989 Mike started a pirate radio station that was a 8 hour prerecorded show called "Bandtango Radio". It was a place local unknown rock bands, rap artists, and Dee-jay's alike could get air-play. Later, it turned into music events and festivals. To build the transmitter for the station, Mike read a sequence of books, ordered parts, and introduced himself to basic soldering, ultimately getting the station to air. Recently, it has been reborn as a free web based mobile radio station brand that includes personalities and producers from Los Angeles commercial radio stations being involved.
- Mike was raised early on by his Hispanic step-mother (Yolanda) and leaned to speak Spanish. Later, that cultural experience would help him in music and in Hispanic marketing.
