Miss Universe just schooled one of the judges for tonight's pageant ... telling her it looks really bad that she's only following Latina contestants on social media. Pageant sources tell us Judge Lele Pons has been told it compromises the competition that she's only following Miss Mexico, Miss Venezuela and Miss Colombia ... making it appear they have an advantage. We're told the officials told Lele to unfollow them Stat. Our sources say Lele fired back she...

The new Miss Venezuela Sthefany Gutiérrez, 18, bears a striking resemblance to Kim Kardashian with her seductive dark eyes and long, shiny black locks — and fans are taking note on social media. One called Gutiérrez “the Latin Kim Kardashian.” Another wrote: “They look 100 percent alike.”
The beauty queen, who plays up her cat eyes with black liner like the Keeping Up With the Kardashian star, could easily pass for Kanye West’s wife, but her resume and interests are quite different.

It’s indestructible! It’s indescribable! Nothing can stop it!
Every one of you watching this screen should look out! Because soon, very soon, the most horrifying monster menace ever conceived…
No, this isn’t advertising copy for a comic convention coming to your town. These lines are from the trailer for that old monster movie, The Blob. But it could be used to describe any upcoming comic con.
Comic conventions are not only thriving but, like the Blob, they are now oozing out from the walls of their convention centers and invading local towns. Geek culture cannot be held within its original confines.
Who would have ever thought, way back when Geek Culture was nestled in little comic shops in the scorned section of town, that we’d get to this point? Unlike the foreboding tone of that Blob movie trailer, this expanding, oozing primordial mass inspires a sense of awe and wonderment.

This season of RuPaul’s Drag Race has a celebrity problem.
I had complained about the show taking attention away from the queens and making the show all about famous faces at the beginning of the season. However, this episode was the most egregious offender for being starstruck by celebrities who weren’t even there! The main challenge was a mini-musical on the Kardashian family, an overlong performance that spread our time with the girls much too thin. But let’s not jump ahead for the sake of complaining!
We actually did get what has been missing from the season so far: a mini-challenge and the Pit Crew! The gals got into quick drag for a swimsuit selfie with the boys (including new Crew members Jared and Yadir), with the girls being shockingly tame. Alexis took a much needed win, but I’d have given the Instagram...

Spoiler Warning: Details about Friday’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race are revealed below.
Well I’m glad I buckled my seat belt — that was a bumpy ride!
I was tickled pink (as I usually am!) by the fact that Trinity Taylor was not eliminated. She got all Olympic gymnast on us and Fought for her right to remain in the competition with one of the best lip sync numbers I have ever seen. In. My. Life. And trust me, darlings, I get around. This is not my first gay rodeo.
I was disappointed to see Charlie Hides leave last week.

The year was 1996. Donald Trump was about to buy the Miss Universe pageant. His then-wife Marla Maples was co-hosting the May ceremony with Entertainment Tonight co-host Bob Goen. And the winner was Miss Venezuela, a 19-year-old named Alicia Machado. "She was really enjoying the moment. She was enjoying her chance to shine in the spotlight," Goen tells The Hollywood Reporter. "She seemed very upbeat, and she seemed comfortable with the position, and that was it." In reality, that was just the beginning. Twenty years later, Machado has found herself in the spotlight

Miss Honduras 2014, Maria Jose Alvarado, and her sister Sofia disappeared six days ago, and police believe they have found their bodies.
Sofia's boyfriend Plutarco Ruiz confessed to killing the siblings, Gen. Ramon Sabillon tells the Associated Press, and even led the Honduras National Police to bodies buried in a river bank around the mountainous terrain of Santa Barbara, 240 miles west of Tegucigalpa.
Photos: Stars We've Lost
Though they are waiting for forensics to confirm the bodies are in fact Sofia, 23, and Maria Jose, 19, Sabillon says that the women discovered appear to have been shot to death.
Ruiz claims he killed the women after he saw his girlfriend dancing with another man. He told police that after an intense argument, he pulled out his pistol and fired it at Sofia first and then Maria Jose when she tried to flee the scene. Sabillion believes the beauty queen was shot three times in the back.

Indie horror Faults and Venezuelan chiller The House At The End Of Time are two of the films in this month's Bottom Shelf...
Summer holidays, barbecues on the beach and weekends decimated by relentless weddings: this is August for some. For other, more discerning types, it is about Frightfest, otherwise known as the chance to spend those rare sunny days ensconced in a darkened room for a horror movie marathon. This year’s Leicester Square event featured the usual mix of gonzo gore, copycat-killings and premiere screenings of future favourites; we managed to catch a few highlights.
The latest film from writer and director Riley Stearns (Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s husband, fact fans), Faults, received a European premiere last month. Massively enjoyable from start to finish, Stearns’ black comedy mostly eschews the genre necessity of scattergun bloody slayings in favour of an intelligent script focusing on the gaping voids left in desperate characters’ lives.

Congratulations are in order for the new Miss Universe, Gabriela Isler of Venezuela, who beat out 85 other international beauties Saturday night at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall, wearing a shimmering silver dress.
While it’s another year of bleached perma-smiles, bizarro-glam costumery that make an ’80s Cher look modest, and suspiciously impressive résumés, for all the glitter and iridescent excess of Miss Venezuela’s finale dress, the event itself seemed a little lackluster this year. Maybe it was the absence of wonderfully cheeky host Andy Cohen paired with the pure cheesiness of Giuliana Rancic? Or perhaps it was the lack...

The 2013 Miss Universe Competition on Saturday (Nov. 9) marked the end of Olivia Culpo's reign, with the 2012 winner forced to cede her crown and her title to the her replacement, Miss Venezuela Gabriela Isler. During her symbolic final walk with the crown, the outgoing beauty queen thanked several important people in her life, including boyfriend Nick Jonas.
After a video aired detailing the former Miss USA's year-long reign, Culpo took to the stage as audio of a pre-recorded message played throughout Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia. After thanking her family, friends and important people in her career, she closed her final moments as Miss Universe with the following: "To the very special person who puts a smile on my face everyday, I can't wait to start this new chapter with you."
While she tried to play coy by not directly naming Jonas in the closing remarks, it's rather obvious she means him.

The 2013 Miss Universe Competition has come and gone, naming the successor to 2012's reigning champ Olivia Culpo in Moscow, Russia on Saturday (Nov. 9). So, who took the crown?
None other than Miss Venezuela, Gabriela Isler. The 25-year-old beauty came out on top, besting runner-up Miss Spain, Patricia Rodrigues, and fan-favorite Miss Philippines, Ariella Arida, who placed fourth.
Isler's answer to judge Steven Tyler's question in the final round (What is your biggest fear and how do you plan to overcome it?) was a bit shaky, as she never directly answered, but her performance in the evening wear competition was stellar. Her gorgeous gown, one of only two to have sleeves, was sleek, silver and something she had a hand in designing, which likely scored her extra points.
According to her bio on the Miss Universe website, Isler began taking flamenco lessons as a child, but currently works as a...
