Taylor Swift’s least convincing lyric to date remains “I make the rules up as I go/And that’s what they don’t know,” from 1989’s “Shake It Off.” Now, four albums into her Taylor’s Version re-recordings, she has the good sense to sing that line with a hint of a smirk.
As with each of the previous Taylor’s Version releases, 1989 invites a degree of studiousness, of finding those slight changes in inflection and phrasing that play into both Swift’s fans’ devotion to the most minute details of her work and critics’ need to assess her output in a post-poptimist discourse. To that end, 1989 is perhaps the least noteworthy of her re-recordings so far.
Ultimately, that’s partly because the original 1989 has a lower ceiling for improvement than Swift’s first four albums. It was the first of her albums that captured truly great artistry without qualification or caveat.

Syfy has often had many different Space Operas, and The Ark now joins the ranks.
The Ark follows the crew of Ark One, which accidentally woke up early from their colonization trip.
With more than a year before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies, and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive.
In our first interview, the leads, Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, and Reece Ritchie, sat down with us to discuss their leading-roles as the de-facto leadership.
Each of their characters, Lt. Garnet, Lt, Brice, Lt. Lane respecitively, got thrown into leadership roles after the incident. Check out the interview video below!
Five months working on a spaceship set really does sound like a dream come true, doesn't it?
TV Fanatic also got to sit down with Christina Wolfe and Shalini Peiris, two other stars in the series.

Initially, Syfy’s The Ark is a rough ride — and not only because the premiere episode opens with a catastrophic event that destroys much of the spaceship it’s set on, along with most of its passengers.
Its premise feels borrowed from countless other sci-fi tales. Its heroes seem to have been plucked half-formed from a factory of tired tropes. And its tone is off somehow, as if showrunners Dean Devlin (Leverage) and Jonathan Glassner (Stargate Sg-1) haven’t yet decided whether to lean into the grimness of its survival drama, or into the jarring uplift of its credits theme.
Yet just as the ship’s crew begin to rise to the occasion, so too do their series’ disparate elements. The Ark may never be admired for its thematic profundity, or its brave ideas, or its nuanced character development. But by the fourth hourlong episode sent to critics (of a...

The Ark looks like a throwback to the good old days of sci-fi series on Syfy.
The cable network released the first five minutes of the new drama, and we're convinced.
We pick up with a catastrophic event that awakens Lt. Sharon Garnet (Christie Burke) from her slumber.
Unfortunately, the event could lead to a loss of life, and Sharon is ready to go to any lengths necessary to save as many people as possible.
It's a high-stakes situation and one that requires a lot of attention.
There are tears as some of her colleagues lose loved ones, but Sharon has to think about the needs of the many as she battles to make the spaceship liveable, even for a short time.

"Everybody that was in charge of running this ship is dead… It all falls to us now." Syfy has revealed an official trailer for a sci-fi series debuting in February called The Ark, created for the sci-fi network. It's co-created by Jonathan Glassner, and Dean Devlin, best known as the writer of the screenplays for Stargate, Independence Day, Godzilla, and Geostorm. Set 100 years in the future when Earth is sending out its first interplanetary colonization ships. The story follows the remaining crew of a spacecraft known as Ark One, who must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course & survive after a catastrophic event that causes massive destruction and loss of life on the ship. This sounds similar to other sci-fi with this premise like the two films Passengers and Aniara. It stars Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read, and Ryan Adams. It has that very cheap Syfy look & feel,...

Of all the places to be lost, space is pretty high up on the list of undesirable locations. Becoming adrift in the near-infinite nothingness of the universe is a provocative concept, so much so that one of the most iconic sci-fi TV series ever just went ahead and named itself after it.
Becoming lost in space isn’t the only thing to fear among the stars, however. For instance: what if you know where you’re going but lack the adequate life-sustaining resources to get there? That is the question at the center of Syfy’s next original series, The Ark.
Premiering Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 10 p.m. Et on Syfy, The Ark brings a simple, yet horrifying situation to the table. Per the official Syfy synopsis: “The Ark takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race.

Syfy’s targeting a February 2023 premiere for the new original sci-fi series The Ark from showrunners and executive producers Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner (Stargate Sg-1). The 15-second first teaser doesn’t reveal much about the plot, other than that there appears to be some sort of emergency in space.

Space travel never goes well in sci-fi and horror, and that seems to be the case once more in the eerie first look at Dean Devlin‘s upcoming Syfy series, “The Ark.”
The teaser and first look images, below, hint at a tense bid for survival amidst catastrophe. Dead bodies litter the hall and quick glances at terrified faces indicate the crew on this spacecraft is in for a rough time.
More importantly, it reveals that we can expect this sci-fi nightmare to arrive in February 2023.

Was the last rock renaissance really in New York City in the aughts? That’s the claim filmmakers Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace make with their documentary adaptation of music journalist Lizzie Goodman’s book “Meet Me in the Bathroom: Rebirth and Rock and Roll in New York City 2001-2011.”
This scuzzy, dreamy nonfiction greatest hits compilation prefers lyricism to reportage, with testimony told entirely in voiceover instead of talking heads. It’s also entirely a montage of on-the-fly found footage — of concerts, early interviews, Courtney Love flashing her boobs to a crowd of frothing onlookers during her 24-hour MTV takeover — and . The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Moldy Peaches, James Murphy, and Interpol all get significant play here, with the film going back to their DIY roots in Lower Manhattan — but leaves us hanging from there. New York, a city responsible for bands such as The Velvet Underground, Blondie and Ramones, was a cultural wasteland by the late 90s and the wider music scene was pumping out shlock like Limp Bizkit and Hoobastank.
As Adam Green says in the opening scenes of Meet Me In The Bathroom, a documentary based on Lizzy Goodman’s oral history of nYc’s musical rebirth, “Maybe New York wasn’t the kind of city anymore that produces iconic bands”.
Then came The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, LCD Soundsystem and many more over the next ten years, turning the Lower East Side and Brooklyn into hipster havens.
I remember the excitement when The Strokes, a gang of good-looking skinny boys with filthy hair and a filthier attitude, broke, in part thanks to the British music press, as I hustled for a copy of their Rough Trade debut...

The series will be back on the air in 2023.
Tim Rozon, Sarah Levy, Adam Korson, Maurice Dean Wint, Savannah Basley, and Tennille Read star in the series.
The series follows realtor Nick Roman and an elite team of specialists that handle the cases no one else can: haunted and possessed houses that literally scare would-be buyers away.
Researching, investigating and "fixing" the things that go bump in the night, the team works to create closure - and closings -- even as they struggle with demons of their own.
Syfy also announced that Chucky will be making its comeback this year, alongside the back half of Resident Alien Season 2.
Also on tap for the fall is Bring It On: Cheer or Die.

For years now, one common question among advocates of the #MeToo movement is when the music industry will face its own reckoning. Musicians like Ryan Adams, Marylin Manson and R. Kelly alongside powerful executives like Russell Simmons and Charlie Walk have all faced accusations following decades of alleged misconduct, but that hardly scratches the service. A new advocacy foundation is done waiting.

Adapting Lizzy Goodman’s novel of the same name, Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern’s Meet Me in the Bathroom captures the essence of late-90s, early-2000s New York, covering the periods right before and after 9/11. For primarily capturing the rise of the Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and LCD Soundsystem, it represents a nostalgia for a time of independence, a moment in which an entire music scene could bloom out of near nothingness. Full of live concert footage and archival interviews, the documentary finds the two U.K.-based filmmakers embracing the shaggy, messy nature of the bands they’re depicting.
Ten years after their LCD Soundsytem concert doc Shut Up and Play the Hits, the directors assemble a mythological picture of New York, a city bursting at the seams with new musicians and a new wave of rock. Julian Casablancas of the Strokes and Karen O of the...

There’s a montage early on in Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace’s documentary “Meet Me in the Bathroom” that is bound to give any geriatric millennial pause. The year is 1999. It’s New Year’s Eve in New York City. President Bill Clinton is speaking on television, full of optimism for the new century, while doomsday preppers stock up on ammo in anticipation of the Y2K bug plunging the world into a technological dark age. With the Twin Towers looming peacefully in the background and nary a cell phone in sight, five Manhattanites barely out of their teens are poised to emerge as the saviors of rock and roll, which as far as anyone knows will continue to occupy the center of popular music for years to come. Was that really that long ago? Were we ever so young?

Luke Grimes’ portrayal of the tough-as-nails, killing-is-my-business Kayce Dutton on Yellowstone has made him a fan favorite on the wildly popular cable drama. But before he ever picked up a branding iron to put a beating on some poor rancher on TV, Grimes was keeping the beat as a drummer in a Los Angeles country band.

American singer-songwriter Ryan Adams has reportedly been cleared of sending sexual messages to an underage female fan, following FBI investigation.
"Ultimately, the FBI found no evidence that would support charging Ryan with a crime, and closed its investigation, without charges, in the fall of 2019," the website Page Six quoted a source as saying.
In 2019, The New York Times had reported that it had seen "extensive communication" between Adams and the fan, who went by the pseudonym "Ava".
They communicated on different platforms, including Twitter where they sent direct messages. They allegedly started talking when Ava was 14, and more than 3,000 text messages were sent between the two until she was 16. There were also explicit photographs that Ava was said to have sent to the star.
Although they never met in person, Ava also claimed that they had video call chats over Skype.
Adams reportedly asked Ava, a budding bass player, about her age.

Liam Gallagher is rarely at a loss for words, snide or otherwise. But during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the singer was left momentarily speechless after being informed that “Wonderwall,” the monster 1995 ballad he sang with his old band, Oasis, is on its way to approaching 1 billion streams on Spotify.
“That’s pretty big, man,” Gallagher says, finally, as if it took a few seconds for the enormity of that figure to sink in. Then the old Liam, the one who loves to bash his songwriting brother, Noel, returns.

“Entourage” actor Kevin Connolly has been accused of sexually assaulting “Girls” and “Orange Is the New Black” costume designer Gracie Cox at a 2005 wrap party for an indie film on which they had both worked.
“I want it to be known that he is dangerous,” Cox told the Daily Beast in a story published Wednesday, “and I want him to not get away with it any longer.”
In Cox’s account — which the Beast said she had shared with multiple individuals at the time and in the days following, including her therapist — Connolly led her into the VIP lounge area of the Manhattan night-spot Butter during a party for the completion of his directorial debut, “The Gardener of Eden,” on which Cox had worked as an assistant costumer.

Adams claimed he was “still reeling from the ripples of devastating effects that my actions triggered.”
This Is Us star Moore opened up about her relationship with ex-husband Adams in a New York Times article which included a number of women coming forward sharing their abusive experiences with the musician.
Moore, who launched her career as a major pop star during the ’90s, shared her experiences in the Nyt expose that detailed a bigger picture of Adams and how he was “controlling” in many of his relationships with women. When Paul Westerberg first sang “It’s a Wonderful Lie” more than 20 years ago, it sounded like the Man Without Ties’ sad-sack ode to his self-defeat. “Misanthropes, guys like me,” the former Replacements frontman sang, leaving no ambiguity as to exactly who Westerberg was talking about. When Mary Lou Lord covered the song in 2015, the Boston folkie focused on that helpless vulnerability, singing lines like “I still get by” in a near-whisper.

Singer-actress Mandy Moore has released her first song in a decade. Titled "When I wasn't watching", the number is from her new album, the name of which is yet to be declared. The album is slated for release early next year.
"The idea of diving back into music after so much time and personal change was really intimidating to me for a while," a report in "variety.com" quoted Moore as saying.
"But then I finally realized: I'm the only person who can make this move. It all has to start with me," she added.
The song has been produced by longtime collaborator Mike Viola and the video has been directed by Lauren Dukoff. The release is significant because it is her first music since her former husband Ryan Adams faced multiple accusations of sexual harassment.
