Beau Mirchoff as “Matty” on Awkward.
Teen Wolf may be howlingly homoerotic (see our Teen Wolf gay highlight reel for proof), but let’s not overlook the welcome gay overtones of another MTV gem. Awkward. is nearing the end of it’s third season and since the show’s launch in July 2011 it has featured plenty of queer highlights, such as that proud bromance between Jake (Brett Davern) and Matty (Beau Mirchoff), witty gay sidekick Clark (Joey Haro) throwing shade from the sidelines and secretly hooking up with closeted, now-deceased Ricky (Matthew Fahey). There was also that “It Gets Moderately Ok” video and Ming (Jessica Lu) taking a girl to the prom.
Our cousins over at NewNowNext put together a smash cut of Awkward.‘s gayest moments. Enjoy! Related: Awkward.’s Beau Mirchoff and Brett Davern: The Batman & Robin of Teen Sex Comedies? Related: When it Comes to Teen Sex,...

The 'Teen Wolf' & 'Secret Circle' stars collide in this new coming-of-age movie. Watch & love. How much cuteness can one romantic indie comedy hold? We'll find out when The First Time — starring Teen Wolf's Dylan O'Brien, The Secret Circle's Britt Robertson and Victorious' Victoria Justice — hits theaters later this month. When the movie begins, Dave (Dylan) is pining over his dream girl Jane (Victoria), but after meeting Aubrey (Britt), Dave will reevaluate where his heart truly lies. Not only am I psyched to see Britt in action again, following the tragic cancelation of The Secret Circle, but I'm also stoked that Dylan is finally playing a character who gets the girl! (Oh, Lydia, will you ever come around?) For all you teen TV junkies out there, The First Time also features Lamarcus Tinker (One Tree Hill) and Matthew Fahey (Awkward) Watch the full theatrical trailer for...

Richard Bates Jr. found quite a bit of acclaim with his short film Excision in 2008, going so far as to garner special mention from the horror jury at Austin Fantastic Fest. Four years later, Bates Jr. is making his feature film writing and directing debut by expanding the story of Excision. AnnaLynne McCord takes over the lead role from Tessa Ferrer, with Ariel Winter, Traci Lords, and Roger Bart filling out the main cast, and cameos from Matthew Gray Gubler, Marlee Matlin, Matthew Fahey, Malcolm McDowell, Jeremy Sumpter, Ray Wise, and John Waters. The wait is finally over Awkward. fans! Jenna (Ashley Rickards) listened to her heart and chose Spoiler her first love Matty (Beau Mirchoff) over Jake (Brett Davern) in last night’s season two finale. Her head (and inner dancing queen) wasn’t too happy with the decision. Now that the love triangle has dissolved, what does it mean for the series at large? Well, here’s what you can expect from season three. You’re welcome.
It’s no longer all about the boys. Show creator, writer, and executive producer Lauren Iungerich broke down the series to three philosophical concepts.

Plus, Jenna's mysterious blog commenter is revealed — and about a million other wacky surprises! I was honestly starting to doubt this day would ever come. Jenna (Ashley Rickards) finally chose between Matty (Beau Mirchoff) and Jake (Brett Davern) on the Sept. 20 season finale of Awkward — but because this is Jenna we're talking about, her decision only made things more complicated. For everyone. So who did Jenna choose? Drumroll please... Matty! Yes, much to the chagrin of Team Jake (including yours truly) Jenna left the blond boy wonder out in the cold. Fortunately for Jake, a super-desperate — and super-drunk — Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) was with open lips to heal his broken heart. Jenna was peeved at first, but she got over it pretty quickly. I guess she really is wishy washy in every aspect of her life. In other awkward relationship news, Sadie (Molly Tarlov) got the shock of her life...

In 2008, Richard Bates Jr. made a short film about a teenager’s harrowing journey into madness via extreme medical procedures. The short was well-received in the film circuit, propelling Bates Jr. to adapt the story of the teen and her overbearing mother into a feature length film, titled Excision. 90210‘s AnnaLynne McCord takes on the lead role this time, with Modern Family‘s Ariel Winter playing her sister, and Traci Lords, Malcolm McDowell, Ray Wise, John Waters, Matthew Fahey, Matthew Gray Gubler, and Marlee Matlin rounding out the cast. The first clip from the movie has now been released, and can be seen below. Anchor Bay Entertainment has released the cover art and handful of new images from Excision, the company's October 16th DVD/Blu-ray release.
Based on a short film of the same name, Excision follows a disturbed and delusional high school student, Pauline (AnnaLynne McCord), with aspirations of a career in medicine, goes to extremes to earn the approval of her controlling mother (Traci Lords). While dealing with being an outcast teenager and obsession over curing her sister’s cystic fibrosis, Pauline becomes continually deranged as her fascination of the surgery and the human flesh grows into something abysmal and demonic.
We spoke to co-star Matthew Fahey two weeks back who told us the film will "leave you saying, 'What the f**k?' It's going to surprise a lot of people."

Matthew Fahey, who appears on MTV's hit show Awkward, walked the red carpet at last night's premiere for The Possession and we grilled him for more details on his turn in Excision, the Richard Bates-directed film starring AnnaLynne McCord, Traci Lords, Roger Bart, Jeremy Sumpter, John Waters and Malcolm McDowell.
Excision hit the film festival circuit earlier this year and is making its DVD/Blu-ray debut on October 30th from Anchor Bay Films.
"I play a friend to Jeremy Sumpter's character and one of the guys who gives AnnaLynne's character a hard time," Fahey told us. "And, I guess in a way, we force her to go nuts. She's already nuts, but we push her over the edge a little bit. It's a smaller role, but a great movie."
Fahey went on to talk a bit about his reaction to the film's script and what we can expect.

Beware the ghosts of the past! First loves are here to haunt on this week's episode of "Awkward," throwing everyone into a phantom heart frenzy. That's right, folks. Havoc is wreaked, truths are revealed, and things are about to get really, really messy.
We're thrust into Ally's (Barret Spatek) wedding along with Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and the rest of this "Awkward" bunch, but we're so grateful we're not part of this wedding party. Ally the Bridezilla makes us want to run for cover. Drinking a liquid meal from a sippy cup, losing her cool over flower baskets, and ordering the worst Princess-Lea-buns-turned-bridesmaid hairdo, Ally's not holding anything back on her way down the aisle. What's more, Jenna's flower girl dress is enough to scare anyone away just on its own. We're curious. Do people still wear taffeta monstrosities?
Regardless of all the wedding craze, J really takes a stand in this episode.

Valentine's Day has arrived at Palos Hills High, and things are about to get awkward on "Awkward" as the ominous holiday divides these teens up into Team Love and Team Black Hearts. But the one thing both sides have in common? The green-eyed monster disease. That's right, folks. These halls are filled with jealousy, and our girl Jenna (Ashley Rickards) has been plagued with it too.
Things may seem peachy in Jenna and Jake's (Brett Davern) Pda-filled relationship (minus that paintball attack and Jake's horrible V-Day stuffed love-bug gift), but all is not quiet on this romantic front. Matty's (Beau Mirchoff) new love interest, the resident seductive blond freshman Courtney (Laura Ashley Samuels), has been creeping under Jenna's skin and ours. Yet, that doesn't stop Jenna from giving Matty dating advice. Remember, Jenna dumped Matty, and after their friendly truce from last week, it's really the least she can do.

We left off last season of "Awkward" with two of Jenna's (Ashley Rickards) big questions answered. We got a slightly awkward, quasi-end to the Jenna-Matty-Jake love triangle. She chose Jake (Brett Davern)! And the kicker: turns out Jenna's mom, Lacey (Nikki Deloach), wrote the horribly hurtful, yet helpful how-to-climb-up-the-high-school-social-ladder letter! Now, this first episode back was all about going public with the news of her mother's betrayal and Jenna's new relationship, leaving us wondering: what would Jenna do (Wwjd)?
We've seen their mother-daughter dynamic play out through season 1, and it's safe to say that Lacey and Jenna are polar opposites. But Jenna has finally reached a position of popularity that her mother should be and is proud of. Jenna's Christmas gift from Lacey, a diamond necklace with a card that reads, "Jenna, this is who you are," says it all. But it doesn't change the fact that Lacey betrayed her daughter.

'Awkward' returns with new episodes at 10:30 p.m. Tonight! Read our interview with Matthew Fahey, who plays Ricky, the awkward-est one of all. While the second season of Awkward brings a boatload of new drama with it, viewers will also be happy to know that some things never change — like Ricky Schwartz being a clueless, heartbreaking doofus! HollywoodLife.com chatted with Mr. Schwartz himself, Matthew Fahey, for the scoop on Ricky's relationship with Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) this season. Spoiler alert: It does not get better. I love Ricky, because I feel like he embodies everything this show is about. There's no one more awkward than Ricky. I would say so. He doesn't know who he is yet. He has a girl that's in love with him, and I think he doesn't realize how much she likes him. But he does know she'll forgive him anytime he does something wrong.

At the end of the first season of MTV's high school hit Awkward band geek player Ricky finally hooked up with Tamara. But this is a teen soap and thus the waters of true love aren't always smooth. The sailing is a lot smoother for Matthew Fahey than the character he plays. With his role on Awkward and two movies at Sundance, he's been having a very good year.
BuddyTV was lucky enough to speak to Fahey about what's coming up on Awkward, keeping up with the shiftlessness on Teen Wolf and those "awkward" love triangles.

Jillian Rose Reed, the best friend and wannabe popular girl, on MTV's "Awkward" tells Zap2it that next season sees some real changes in the characters.
"Season 2 is going to be crazy for fans that are Team Jake (Brett Davern) or Team Matty (Beau Mirchoff)," she says. "There's a lot of crazy stuff love stuff that will happen for Tamara. I hope fans will tune in and continue watching."
The show was a huge hit for MTV in its freshman year.
"Tamara, in Season 1 says a lot of funny, sometimes dirty things," Reed says of her character. "It's really awesome to see her like that. In Season 2 we will definitely see her evolve. She has drama in her life. She needs to mature. She is becoming an insightful person and is starting to help Jenna (Ashley Rickards) see different things in her life."
What surprises her the most in the upcoming season?...

Jillian Rose Reed and Matthew Fahey not only play high school classmates Ricky and Tamara on MTV's hit "Awkward" they actually were classmates.
"I went to school with Matt Fahey," Reed tells Zap2it. "We were in class together a lot of the time."
Reed spent her freshman and sophomore years in a regular high school, and completely relates to the endless high school drama of "Awkward."
"'Awkward' is cutting across lines," Reed says. "What is awesome about the show is our main character is the underdog, and everyone in high school feels like the underdog. I was the choir and drama geek. I had my quirky friends and I wasn't the queen bee."
By junior year, Reed transferred to a charter school, which allowed her to work while she attended school.
"It was a group of actors who support each other and tell each other to do homework," she says.

Last week, we introduced you to "Awkward's" mean girl, Molly Tarlov. (You're welcome.) This week, her equally awesome co-star Jillian Rose Reed stopped by the Zap2it offices to give us a little scoop on what's coming up next for her character, Tamara.
With a vocabulary that would give Diablo Cody a run for her money, Tamara has stuck by Jenna's (Ashley Rickards) side through every high school trauma imaginable. Now, it's Tamara's turn to take center stage as we meet her ultimate crush, Ricky Schwartz. Ricky is played by Matthew Fahey, who you'll recognize from short roles on "Grey's Anatomy" and "Dexter."
"Matt Fahey... is a really close family friend of mine who I've known forever, so it was awesome to get to work with somebody that I know, and have my first on-screen kiss with somebody that I know," Reed tells us. Spoiler alert!
