London, August 30: Hollywood actors Jude Law and Ewan McGregor have reportedly been offered to play Roger Chapman and Roger Mallinson in a movie about the deepest underwater rescue in history.
Former Royal Navy submariner Chapman, who has been in talks with production company Giant Film, revealed that it was up to the actors to decide if they wanted to play the role, but the film company has decided to stick to the story, the Daily Star reported.
Chapman and Mallinson had spent three days trapped in a Pisces III, a 6ft deep-sea submersible that had been laying deep-sea phone cables 150 miles off the coast of Ireland in 1973.

Latest: British soul star Corinne Bailey Rae's musician husband died from a "suspected drugs overdose", an inquest into his death has heard.
The body of saxophonist Jason Rae, 31, was discovered in a Leeds, England flat last Saturday.
Police have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs. He has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Rae's body on Saturday night proved inconclusive.
Appearing at Leeds Coroner's Court on Thursday, Detective Superintendent Steve Payne told the hearing there were no signs of trauma or violence, or any significant indications of natural disease.
Deputy Assistant Coroner Roger Chapman said the pathologist's report suggested Rae's death was the result of drugs, but further tests were needed to confirm the preliminary conclusion.
The hearing, which was not attended by any of the Rae family, was adjourned and will commence once the results of the toxicology tests are in.
