Alfonso Ribeiro is a star because of his role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He played Carlton, the yuppie who made a cringeworthy dance trend famous. However, while he knows he owes everything to Carlton, Ribeiro also said the role ruined his acting career.
here is what Alfonso Ribeiro said about his mixed feelings about playing Carlton on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Alfonso Ribeiro Says Carlton Was The Worst Thing That Happened To Him
Alfonso Ribeiro starred as Carlton Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for its entire run. That was six seasons and 148 episodes. The show made Will Smith a star and helped catapult him into a hugely successful movie career. However, for Alfonso, his career went in the other direction thanks to that popular sitcom role.
In an interview with Closer Weekly, Ribeiro said his role as Carlton was the greatest thing that ever happened to him.

Actor Ryan Reynolds took to social media to address a plea to fans where he urged them to refrain from spoilers for the highly anticipated film, Deadpool 3, currently in production.
Reynolds’ appeal came in response to a significant spoiler leak, which stemmed from a set photo that made its way online.
Reynolds, known for his wit and humor, didn’t stop at a simple request.
Instead, he decided to combat the leaks when he shared a fake set of photos on social media platforms.
These photos featured Deadpool in unlikely scenarios, such as a hangout out with Mickey Mouse and a bag of money, alongside Predator, and even with the character Urkel.
Reynolds went as far as to include references to Seth Meyers‘ cue card handler Wally Feresten and the now-defunct streaming platform Quibi.
In a post to X, Reynolds humorously wrote, “Deadpool began with a leak. So I’m joining in.

As fans of movies and TV, we have seen thousands of guest stars grace our screens only to disappear forever after their purpose has been served. But once in a while a performer gives life to a character that can not be contained to just one or two episodes. Once in a while a performer brings to life a character that doesn’t just perform in a show, but comes to define it. Thus is the story of Steve Urkel, the lovable nerd from next door that was only meant for a single episode but in the hands of the talented Jaleel White became one of the most iconic characters in television history. But sometimes when you craft a character so beloved, it is hard to shake them, as audiences, and casting directors, only see that character in you. Sometimes you work so hard to shake that character from audiences...

Just like the Winslow family on Family Matters, whenever you think you’re clear of Steven Q. Urkel, he’ll burst right through the door and back into our lives. Warner Bros. Animation has released the trailer for an all-new animated holiday adventure that continues the adventures of one of the biggest sensations of the 90s with Urkel Saves Santa: The Movie! While legacy sequels dominate pop culture in an effort to recapture the magic of certain IP, for someone like Steve Urkel, who is immortalized as a nerdy teenager, to bring him back in an animated project helps cover a lot of logistical hurdles. The trailer has been released, courtesy of ComicBook.com.
The synopsis reads,
“The holiday season is here, and brilliant but accident-prone super genius Steve Urkel has only one mission: to make the holidays the best they can be for everyone! However, things are off to a...

Tragedy breeds fond reminiscence. In November 2022, Jason David Frank, who starred as Tommy Oliver in the 1993 live-action superhero series "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" and almost every subsequent "Power Rangers" story, died at the age of 49. Other Rangers came and went with each fantastical iteration, but fans could confidently rely on the Green Ranger — or the White Ranger. The man bore a million monikers — always present whenever the world was in peril. No official cause of death has been reported, although speculation has been unkind in its stead. In the wake of such a sobering moment, craving gentle comfort is only natural.
That's where we can help. The original run of the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" ran concurrently with a number of popular family sitcoms, like "Boy Meets World" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Only one of them, though, saw Frank don a set of night-black baggy clothing, not too...

Jimmy Kimmel’s latest episode poked fun at former President Donald Trump’s innate knack for losing the popular vote. Trump, who announced his run for the White House in 2024 on Tuesday evening, has famously lost the popular vote in the last two presidential campaigns – by nearly three million votes to Hilary Clinton in 2016 (about which he threw a proper fit) and 7 million votes to Biden in 2020.
Kimmel joked that Trump is actually running “in a bid to become the first American to lose the popular vote three times in a row.

Jimmy Kimmel taped Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” hours before Donald Trump’s speech confirming he’ll be running for president in 2024. But that didn’t stop Kimmel from telling some amusing jokes about it during his monologue.
For instance, Kimmel joked that Trump is actually running for president “in a bid to become the first American to lose the popular vote three times in a row.” Because, naturally, Trump has already lot the popular vote twice — by nearly 3 million in 2016, and by more than 7 million in 2020.
“There was some speculation that he might be announcing something else tonight. You know, there’ve been a lot of times Trump said something was going to be big and it wasn’t,” Kimmel joked in an apparent reference to Trump’s penis. “Just ask Stormy Daniels.”

Corny characters are nothing new to television. In fact, our favorite shows have always featured people with exaggerated behaviors and trite one-liners. Corny characters make us laugh, they make us groan, and they epitomize the best and worst aspects of TV storytelling.
We decided it would be a blast to put on our corny caps, and figure out which sappy figures have the most memorable throughout history. Corny has a large variety of interpretations and definitions. Just because these characters are on this list, it doesn’t mean they’re not well-written or acted. It just means they’ve come to symbolize specific aspects of what makes television often outlandish.
Danny Tanner – Full House

HBO Max Cancels More Animation, Including ‘Batman: The Caped Crusader’ and 2 ‘Looney Tunes’ Projects
HBO Max continues its baffling decisions regarding its animated programming, with six animated projects no longer making their way to the direct-to-consumer streaming platform, TheWrap has confirmed.
Among the projects that will no longer stream on the platform: “Batman: The Caped Crusader,” from “The Batman” director Matt Reeves, J.J. Abrams and comic book luminary Ed Brubaker; “Did I Do That to the Holidays: A Steve Urkel Story,” an animated “Family Matters” spinoff; and two high-profile “Looney Tunes” features.
While those projects are still in development, some of which are pretty far along, TheWrap has confirmed that “Driftwood,” an original HBO Max animated feature from Victor Courtright, has been fully canceled.

Quick! What’s a seven-letter word that ends in “hole”? If you answered “momhole,” then A) you should probably see a very good therapist and B) has Saturday Night Live got a sketch for you!
Word Crunch — a game show whose host is played by Andrew Dismukes — is basically a word search. Owing to a writers’ strike, everything is written by sound engineer Chris (Sarah Sherman, doing her best rowdy Jersey girl). So, naturally, the board is filled with the word “momhole.”

We have a confession.
On The Afterparty Season 1 Episode 8, Detective Danner finally got the clues she needed to solve the mystery of who killed Xavier -- minutes before the arrival of Detective Germain.
It was a satisfying conclusion to a meticulously planned, incredibly entertaining series.
Spoilers ahead! Read on only if you've watched the finale!
At first, it seemed like we would get an entirely Maggie-centric episode. Her tale was over in five minutes, but it gave us many answers.
First, let it be said once again that Everly Carganilla is as adorable as child actors get. Her line delivery was spot-on.
I decided I better go tell daddy that he forgot to give me the fruit snacks since he’d really want to know that.

A dramatic update of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? We know, it’s the stuff that spoofs are made of. Heck, Saturday Night Live has already made fun of the idea with a digital short touting an Urkel reboot that looks more like Power than Family Matters. So, is Peacock’s Bel-Air for real, holmes? As we say in here Philly, yo, this jawn is tight. Inspired by series writer Morgan Cooper’s 2019 short fan-film, the new twist on Will Smith‘s sitcom reimagines the often goofy ’90s hit as a darker drama in which our beloved characters are still the ones we remember, but elevated. And for star Jabari Banks, part of the thrill was stepping into Smith’s dunks. “The anxiety and the excitement live in the same part of my body,” he admits ahead of this weekend’s streaming premiere. “But I was super stoked to get into this role.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot is a turning point in history: the first YouTube parody greenlit to series. It’s the ultimate reboot, the pinnacle of this Golden Age of Reboots. Scholars will look back on it and say that 2022 was the year we reached “peak rebootity”. Which made it ideal fodder for a Saturday Night Live sketch this weekend. (Watch the episode’s cold open here.)
Urkel asks the question, “What could be more ridiculous than a gritty reboot of one of the silliest sitcoms of the ’90s?” Of course, it’s a reboot of the silliest sitcom of the ’90s: Family Matters,...

Saturday Night Live gave Peacock a pitch for a new Family Matters reboot, just after the NBC streamer dropped a trailer for its dramatic Fresh Prince series Bel-Air.
The trailer-like sketch features sweeping clips of Chicago, that follow a slightly familiar figure donning bright stripes through seedy streets. Chris Redd then appears as the beloved Family Matters nerd Steve Urkel, who was played by Jaleel White in the original series. Instead of his cheery attitude, Redd’s Urkel takes on a more cynical view of the world. As do other characters from the family comedy.
“The goofy characters you loved in the ’90s with absolutely none of the fun or the charm,” the sketch describes the series, aptly titled Urkel.
The sketch also featured host Ariana DeBose, Ego Nwodim, Mikey Day and Kenan Thompson. Even in the darker tone, Urkel’s still his quirky self – kinda. When he catches Day...
