Archival Looks, Recycled Materials and Lab Grown Jewels Puts Spotlight on Sustainability at Met Gala
Fashion’s biggest night is star-studded event all around — usually with a focus on new clothes — but this year a less talked-about topic joined the conversation at the Met Gala in a big way: sustainability.
Monday night’s event kicked off with La La Anthony, a red carpet co-host for Vogue‘s livestream, proudly declaring that she was wearing “pre-loved vintage accessories” from eBay. The announcement set the stage for some of the celebrities who Anthony and her co-hosts, Gwendoline Christie and Ashley Graham, interviewed throughout the night who also showcased their sustainable red-carpet choices.
Designer Stella McCartney was joined by actress and model Cara Delevingne, singer FKA Twigs and singer Ed Sheeran on the Met Gala red carpet. The British designer created custom looks for each of her guests, all made from 100 percent sustainable materials.
The designer’s brand collaborated with sustainable jewelry company Vrai for Delevingne’s and Sheeran’s looks.

For her second appearance at the Met Gala, Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline stuns in a perfectly tailored Tommy Hilfiger gown based on the brand’s staple: the button-up shirt.
In addition to Cline, guest including K-pop group Stray Kids and GQ Global Editorial Director Will Welch wore the designer and attended with him and his wife, Dee Hilfiger.
Cline and Hilfiger opted for a straightforward approach to “The Garden of Time” dress code. With shades of white and cream, scattered rosettes and a full skirt, Cline’s look contrasts the streamlined Stella McCartney black and silver dress she wore last year at her 2023 Met Gala debut.
As for her voluminous blowout, hairstylist Marc Mena used the viral Wavytalk’s 5-in-1 Curling Wand Set. He started off with the thermal brush attachment to achieve that effortless ’90s look, and then added extra movement with various-sized barrels throughout her long locks.

Kellie Pickler returned to the stage for the first time since the death of her husband, Kyle Jacobs, performing a song they wrote together at a special concert at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium honoring Patsy Cline.
Pickler sang “The Woman I Am,” the title track from her 2013 album, which opens and closes with a refrain befitting the tribute concert, “Sometimes I cry at night/I fall to pieces with Patsy Cline/Man how many songs sound like that?/But that’s just the woman I am.”

Ready Player One‘s sequel, Ready Player Two, was officially confirmed yesterday by Steven Spielberg to be in development. The iconic filmmaker won’t be directing the movie as he takes on a producer role, and said that the team is currently in the “discovery phase,” which suggests the release is a ways off.
However, that’s not the only Ready Player One-related announcement we got in the past week. Publisher Readyverse Studios has announced a Aaa metaverse battle royale game that features the dystopian futuristic franchise.

Steven Spielberg will put his quarters up for the Ready Player One sequel, but not in the way some fans would hope. The legendary filmmaker recently confirmed he’ll serve as a producer on Ready Player Two but has no plans to direct the anticipated sequel. Speaking with Showbiz 411, Spielberg said the project is in its “discovery phase,” and the team is “trying to figure out what’s next” for the high-concept sci-fi sequel.
It’s easy to see why Warner Bros. Discovery would want a follow-up to Spielberg’s 2018 fantasy-action film. In addition to pressing Start on $579,055,653 at the box office, the effects-driven cinematic roller coaster featured countless characters from WB’s IP library. Among the film’s many cameos, Batman, Freddy Krueger, King Kong, The Iron Giant, the twins from The Shining, Beetlejuice, and more join the extensive cast.

The Academy Awards have been given out, but aside from a list of winners, the ceremony also provided us with a series of new information about some upcoming projects. In a short discussion with Steven Spielberg, Roger Friedman received an official confirmation that Ready Player Two, the sequel to Spielberg’s Oscar-nominated 2018 hit film Ready Player One, is in the works, but that he won’t be directing it.
This is an exciting update that confirms what the author of both books, Austin-based writer Ernest Cline, said earlier this year. When asked about the sequel movie, which would be based on Cline’s 2020 sequel novel, he said the following:
“It’s in the early stages right now, especially since Hollywood is in limbo right now. But I can tell from the experience of making the first movie that everybody had a lot of fun.”

According to the outlet, officers arrived at the hospital after the actor allegedly punched a nurse in the head, shoved the face of another nurse, and pushed a third hospital worker into a table.
The Netflix star reportedly had to be restrained by security guards.
North, who plays Topper in the treasure-hunting teen drama, addressed the incident on Instagram in the aftermath.
He shed light on why he was in the hospital in the first place, claiming that his friend drove him to the hospital in question because “I thought I was having a heart attack.”

Actress Madelyn Cline (“Outer Banks) is the new Revlon ‘Global Brand Ambassador’:
“Living boldly means fiercely loving yourself and being yourself absolutely, unapologetically, having no inhibitions. Living fiercely for yourself,” said Cline.
“We are our thoughts, so anything that you feel is going to reflect outwardly. That's always going to come out. So it's important to pay attention to yourself and look inside first.
“I’m incredibly inspired by watching other artists express themselves freely. I'm also inspired just watching people in general. It’s so interesting. There's just this fascination with being human. I think that's really inspiring.
‘You are not getting any younger. Cut anything out of your life that is not serving you. Do what you want. Be free.

In Steven Spielberg's 2018 film "Ready Player One," characters log in to the Oasis, a sprawling virtual reality world in which they can exist as avatars decked out in digital clothing, hairstyles, and accessories that reflect their favorite pieces of popular culture. One could model themselves to look like The Iron Giant, drive the DeLorean from "Back to the Future," or literally step into scenes from their favorite movies.
Now Ernest Cline, who wrote the novel on which the film was based, seems to be trying to create a real-world analogue for the Oasis.
Deadline reports that Cline and "Ready Player One" producer Dan Farah are teaming up with a company called Futureverse to launch Readyverse Studios, which aims to "build a destination for fans to explore their favorite stories and IP in the metaverse, leveraging web3, metaverse games and experiences, augmented reality, and virtual reality technologies." Ernest Cline has signed a deal that will bring Ready Player One to the metaverse, meaning we’re in for a virtual reality web3 gaming experience of some sort. It won’t be dystopian, though.
If you’ve dreamed of entering the virtual world woven by Ernest Cline in his 2011 novel Ready Player One – or Steven Spielberg’s busy 2018 film adaptation – there’s good news. Cline has, along with producer Dan Farah and the tech company Futureverse, launched a new studio that aims to make Ready Player One’s digital realm a (virtual) reality.
Called Readyverse Studios, the new venture is in the process of “building the definitive destination for fans to explore their favourite stories and IP in the metaverse.”

"Outer Banks" actor Madelyn Cline is climbing up the Hollywood ladder and showing no signs of slowing down. She was one of the newest additions to the Knives Out franchise after "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" premiered in late 2022, and she also returned for "Outer Banks" season three back in February.
While her film and television career is filled with many projects, Cline's romantic life hasn't been as busy - at least not until recently. In 1937, Walt Disney was desperate to find a way to make “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,”the first feature-length animated movie ever made, actually feel like a feature-length movie. He’d been doing his best to ignore the naysayers who christened the very idea of the film as “Disney’s folly.” But they did trigger a nagging concern for the 35-year-old studio chief: Audiences might reject an animated movie if it remained stuck in the realm of the flat, two-dimensional shorts that had propelled Mickey Mouse to worldwide celebrity.
“People said, ‘Nobody will sit through an hour-and-90-minute cartoon,’” Becky Cline, director of the Walt Disney archives, tells Variety. “‘Their eyes will start bleeding.’”

Saturday Night Live returns in October with a familiar face: former cast member Pete Davidson!
Davidson will serve as the host for SNL‘s season 49 premiere on Oct. 14, with rapper Ice Spice as the musical guest. Bad Bunny is set to host and perform the following week, on Oct. 21.
The Dumb Money star departed the show following season 47, after eight seasons — most in which he was the youngest cast member. Davidson joined the show when he was just 20 years old and was perhaps most popular for his self-effacing “Weekend Update” appearances.
In recent years, Davidson has become even more well known for his high-profile relationships, which have included A-list romances with Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, and Phoebe Dynevor.
Most recently, Davidson split from his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star, Chase Sui Wonders, in August and has recently sparked romance rumors with Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline.

Film adaptations of popular novels are a Hollywood tradition — especially when the novel is part of a series, making its financial prospects even more lucrative. So, where's the movie adaptation of "Ready Player Two"?
Steven Spielberg directed "Ready Player One," the 2018 film version of the 2011 novel of the same name by Ernest Cline. The movie raked in a worldwide box office total of nearly $600 million and earned decent Rotten Tomatoes scores. Such numbers seemed more than enough to move forward with follow-up installments based on sequel novels covering earlier eras. "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," its series' sophomore outing, debuted in theaters just one year after the first film. The same was true for the film sequels to "Twilight" and "The Hunger Games." More than five years after "Ready Player One" debuted in theaters, Wade Watts and his fellow High Five friends haven't returned to cineplexes, despite the existence of a sequel novel,...

Alec Baldwin is marking the end of “Rust”. The 65-year-old actor took to Instagram on Monday to celebrate the end of filming on his latest project.
In his post, Baldwin shared a photo of his co-stars, Frances Fisher and Patrick Scott McDermott, smiling after finishing up their work.
“Last day of filming Rust in Montana,” Baldwin wrote. “Sorry that I did not get to work with this living legend, the great @francesfisher . Patrick, I envy you.”
Baldwin then alluded to the tragedy surrounding the film, the October 2021 shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.
“It’s been a long and difficult road. But we reach the end of the trail today,” he wrote. “Congratulations to Joel, [cinematographer] Bianca [Cline] and the entire cast and crew.”
Baldwin ended his post by calling the wrapping of the film, “Nothing less than a miracle.”

Chloe Fineman is being roasted online for her “cringe” interview with Stella McCartney, Aubrey Plaza and Madelyn Cline during Monday night’s Met Gala red carpet.
While many naysayers were already scolding Fineman for being a “horrible” interviewer, things got worse when she misnamed Plaza, calling her “Audrey” instead of “Aubrey.” Moments later, McCartney, who attended the stylish event with Plaza and Cline, slammed the “Saturday Night Live” star for not taking the interview “seriously.”
“I’ll be more serious,” Fineman replied with a laugh before carrying on with the awkward interview. While some defended the comedian on Twitter, noting that the “Audrey” name change was a bit, others were unamused, including McCartney, who’s facial expressions appeared to be quite telling.

Every couple of months, at a venue somewhere in Michigan – the Old Town Playhouse in Traverse City, say, or the State Theater in Bay City, the singer Judy Harrison will head backstage to her dressing room, and begin her transformation.
She fixes her make-up. She puts on a black fringed top, a black skirt, big belt and cowboy boots. Over her own long, light hair, she places the short, black wig she bought from a professional wig store in town, and runs her fingers through its faint waves.
“The wig is truly the thing that takes you there,” Harrison says via video call. “The very first time I did this, I walked out with the wig on, and I don’t know if the band knew who I was. I was so different to them, it was like they weren’t even looking at Judy.”

Spoiler alert: The following discusses major plot points from “Outer Banks” Season 3.
As “Outer Banks” Season 3 takes the Pogues back to where the sprawling treasure hunt first started, the whirlwind romance that Sarah (Madelyn Cline) and John B (Chase Stokes) embraced as they carved out their new home in Poguelandia is brutally interrupted when the teens, now married, are forced to confront their own familial ties — including the surprise return of John B’s father, Big John (Charles Halford).
Guided by an instinct to follow the bells, whose rhythm remind him of his father’s previous calling card, John B misses out on the Pogues life-or-death escape from Barbados — as Sarah gives the crew the heart-wrenching Ok to leave him behind when their boat sets sail back to the Outer Banks.
As John B prioritizes the seasons-spanning search for his father, Sarah returns to Kitty Hawk with her family life in shambles.

The cast of Outer Banks have heard all of the bizarre, creative, and somewhat genius theories that fans have brainstormed throughout the Netflix show’s three seasons. Here’s a closer look at the sibling theory and what Cline had to say about it.

Whether you're Team Pogues or Team Kooks, there's one thing that everyone who watches "Outer Banks" can agree on: It's awesome. Set on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Netflix drama revolves around John B and his loyal crew of Pogues as they attempt to unravel the mysterious disappearance of John B's father, who went missing while hunting down treasure on a sunken ship. As well as butting heads with the Kooks from Figure Eight, John B must evade social services, who want to put him in the foster care system.
Though "Outer Banks" is very much a YA drama, like plenty of teen shows before it, the actors who bring our beloved Pogues to life aren't actually high schoolers themselves. Some of the stars have even started to move into more adult acting roles, like Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah. Cline appears in 2022's "Glass Onion" as Whiskey.

The cast of Outer Banks might have just debunked a viral fan theory ahead of season 3. The Pogues are back.
On Thursday evening, the cast and crew of Outer Banks gathered at Westwood’s Regency Village Theater for the show’s season three premiere. This season, the Pogues face yet another dangerous treasure hunt, and after spending the last two seasons looking for the lost Royal Merchant gold and the Cross of Santo Domingo, this season’s focus will be on El Dorado, the lost city of gold.
“It’s very overwhelming and so exciting,” Drew Starkey, who plays Rafe, told The Hollywood Reporter about reuniting with the cast for the premiere. “I’m shaking. It’s always great to get some familiar faces back together, and seeing everyone here is very humbling.”
“Chemistry is something that you can find, but to continue to facilitate and to nurture it is another thing, and I feel like this cast does that really well,” added Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah Cameron.

When I was a kid, I remember hearing about the Disney Vault. Every once in a while, movies and shows would be brought in and out of this vault, apparently for special occasions. But this was very much a marketing tool to drum up the popularity of classic productions from The Walt Disney Company. There wasn't a literal vault where these things were kept ... right?
Well, in a way, there actually is a "Disney Vault." The Walt Disney Archives is an initiative that was started by Roy O. Disney in 1970 in order to collect and preserve the legacy of the company started by his brother. Over 50 years later, this archive (largely due to the groundwork laid by original Disney archivist Dave Smith) has assembled integral pieces of history from the House of Mouse's existence like props, costumes, and documents and ensures that they're kept safe and intact for future generations to enjoy.

Kiara Carrera is calling herself out in Outer Banks Season 3. As fans may recall, many viewers were frustrated with the teen last season. Her impulsive behavior proved she was a Pogue 4 Life, but it also caused trouble for her friends. After some time to reflect, it seems Kiara would agree with fan opinions. Check out a teaser clip below to see what Kiara says about her actions.
Madison Bailey as Kiara in ‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 | Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix Many fans were furious at Kiara in ‘Outer Banks’ Season 2
Early in season 2, Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and JJ (Rudy Pankow) had to cope with the presumed death of their friends, John B. (Chase Stokes) and Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline). Kiara’s way of coping was a little reckless, as she spray-painted “murderer” on the Camerons’ wall outside their home and shouted at Rafe (Drew Starkey). Sure, the Camerons deserved it,...

When “Outer Banks” premiered in spring 2020, Madelyn Cline’s life transformed overnight. Her character, Sarah Cameron — John B’s love interest and “the princess of the Kooks” — has changed almost as much as Cline herself. While she gears up for the release of the teen drama’s third season, out Feb. 23, she’s also starring in another Netflix hit: Rian Johnson’s “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.”
How has Sarah Cameron changed since viewers last saw her?
We’ve seen her truly grow up a lot. She’s gone from a teenager who doesn’t have much of a care in the world or responsibilities to having the weight of so many things on her shoulders. She’s learned that family is not just something that you are born into but something that you can choose. She’s learning to speak up for herself, put her foot down, and...

Rust, the embattled Western on which cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed by a prop gun fired by Alec Baldwin on October 2021, is aiming for a Spring return to production. Despite the project’s ongoing legal battles, Rust Movie Productions is about to welcome cinematographer Bianca Cline to the set. Cline’s recent work on Marcel the Shell With Shoes On turned plenty of heads upon release, paving the way for Cline to accept high-profile work. Rust remains in the shadow of Hutchins’ tragic death. Still, Rust is one of the most talked-about movies in production. People say all press is good, but that doesn’t necessarily apply to Baldwin’s Rust movie.
To combat the ill-tidings of Rust resuming production, the film’s producers said Cline would donate her salary to charity in honor of the dearly departed Hutchins.
Rust director Joel Saouza and original crew members will also return to the set.

The producers of “Rust” have named a new cinematographer to take over for Halyna Hutchins, who was shot and killed on set in October 2021.
The production also announced that a documentary will be made about the completion of the film and about Hutchins’ life and work. The documentary will have the “full support” of the production and of Hutchins’ widower, Matthew.
“Rust” was originally set to resume filming in January, but is now slated to restart sometime this spring. Bianca Cline, who worked on “Marcel the Shell With Shoes On,” will take over as cinematographer.
The production also announced that Grant Hill, an industry veteran whose producing credits include the “Matrix” films and “The Thin Red Line,” will be joining as a producer.
Alec Baldwin is still on board in the title role, despite being charged last month with involuntary manslaughter for Hutchins’ death. Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the film’s armorer,...
